What is considered a Mid?

Marijuana Imuno Deficiency Syndrome -MIDS

Kind of like AIDS but you can catch it off anyone not just gays jews and monkies.

Why this interest in mids anyways? It was just a slang term for weed that wasn't bricked but wasn't very good. Where I grew up the hierarchy went brick, mids, beasters/kind bud. This was back when weed only had names in songs to most of us.

Mids could be any strain, they were just poorly grown and poorly cured. Sometimes they even had seeds. It's not that they were never from a named strain, it's just if the guy selling them cared enough to know their name, they weren't mids.

I didn't even know mids existed anymore, at least in legal states. Just not sure why you'd bother.
Some shops here charge different amounts for different strains. Some strains are more difficult to grow and yield less so they charge more. Other shops have a dedicated top, mid, and sale weed. The sale weed is usually the bottom of the jars.

I actually haven't been to any since I started growing though, so it's been awhile.

Sure, and maybe the term mids has been co-opted by dispensaries, but when I hear the term mids I think of a time before dispensaries existed, and it's a grade of weed far below even the worst stuff any dispensary I've been too sells.

Yeah I call the decent stuff high mids

I called that shit schwag, mex or brick. I'd get it for $300 lb and sell it for $20 1/4 or $60 oz. I tried not to rip people off. A couple times I got lb's of green uncompressed shit for $400 that you might call mids, but it was damn close to the chronic. People were shocked I was only charging $100 an oz for that stuff. That shit funded my season passes in Tahoe for a few years. Whenever I had to get a new pass, I'd sell a little weed.

Ya, that uncompressed stuff is exactly what I'm talking about. Sometimes it would get you ripped but it always smelled and tasted like crap. As I've grown I've realized it was likely just harvested early and dried in a hurry by people who cared just enough to pull most of the males.

Beasters were kind of the same thing just slightly better grown, like the first wave of mass produced greenhouse weed, by people who cared just a little more, but not enough to really dialed things in.

We called beasters homegrown.

The shit I got was almost chronic. It just had a few seeds in it, but not many. People were telling me I could sell it for $50 an eighth, but I didn't want to overcharge people when I only paid $400 a lb. These were all my local Tahoe buddies. Truckee to be precise.

Ours definitely wasn't that good. Where I grew up in coastal MA there was no chronic haha. I actually used to prefer the ME and VT outdoors we would get in the fall for the same price as the mids but it was never around for long. But nothing was as cheap as your prices out here man ... too far from the source ya know? Mexican brick was $800+ a pound! Beasters came from British Columbia supposedly and were like $1600 a pound. Mids were everything in between.

The first real headies I ever saw was some Super Silver Haze senior year of high school and it cost me something ridiculous like $80/gram ... I virtually decided to start growing while high on that shit haha

The west coast definitely had their shit together. It was bomb all the way from B.C. to California. I was born in Seattle, and I had never even heard of mex, or schwag until I moved to CA.

I smoked a lot of schwag throughout high school in MA. Most of you guys wouldn’t even consider it mids, occasionally it was decent, but not like what I can get now. The good stuff was from Vt or Montreal and wasn’t cheap.

I don’t know how old any of the posters are on here but I’m 44. When I hit college at Syracuse is when I started to encounter the real sticky icky regularly. I doubt I could even find schwag anymore.
