What Do you Tell the Kids ?????????????

I have two kids ages 3 and 6. I don't smoke cigarettes so I don't smoke weed either. I do use a vape and I make edibles for night time but they don't ever see me use the vape because it's in the grow room and up too ghigh for them to be able to see. They both know I have health issues and they know I make 'special' cookies and stuff for myself with 'special' butter that has my medicine in it. I think it's easier for me since they're young and I know that eventually they will need to know what my medicine actually is. I will be honest with them and that will be that.
One thing I did do and I'm not sure how many parents do this is I started growing stuff other than MJ as well and I include my kids in that. My son likes to help mix soil, plant seeds and prune the non MJ plants and my daughter likes to help water the soil ones and stuff. They have asked me before when they see my MJ plants what they are and I told them they are plants that grow flowers that I turn into my medicine. They've even seen some of the flowers while they're still on the plants and all they say is they're ugly flowers.

My grow is legal so I don't worry too much about having to be taken away from my kids but a little concern is always there since I'm only covered under state law and not federal law. I just try to keep things legit the best I can and I don't tell anyone I grow.

There was one time I worried a little when he put down a project the YMCA that he grows stuff his dad as one of favorite things to do with dad. But then I just brought in some pics of our outdoor hydro setup and pics of him with a bunch of vegetable plants as well as some kick ass tomatoes, carrots and snap peas to the Y for show and tell. The Y leaders were impressed with how good everything tasted compared to what they get from the stores. I just laughed...

Anyway, best of luck to you.
Thanks Dez. I cannot use the medicinal angle as that would not be truthful. I think the underlying theme here and the theme I live by is that in the end HONESTY will win out every time.

Solid info. That's how my son thinks of it even now. Dad has his medicine. He's seen me without it and doesn't like it at all because I end up having to take pharma drugs and they mess with all sorts of stuff. Body, mind, mood, etc. I'm more "with it" smoking herb than with all the other crap.

this author has written a childrens book about marijuana and he has been invited to a few talks shows and stuff. its a very easy unbiased introduction to marijuans for you kids. it basically says that it is for responcible adults only
i thought i had it all figured out with my kids, but i think i'll buy the book. even though i am in a legal state and an a legal patient, i want my kids to know that weed is out there and i do smoke it, but its really not a big deal, and it will still be around when they are older and feel the need to experiment. maybe this book can help. thanks for the hook up.

I think you're all thinking too much into this though. By the time you have kids I think you should have the perfect place to grow and keep it away and out of sight from them and they won't have anything to question. My dad did and when he smoked I knew it was weed so why would i ask him a stupid question like that.

haha well u never know although i wouldnt bet on them not knowing what it is tbh lolol think about if you were ur 15year old you'd be like OMG THERE GROWING WEED !!

except that darkrooms are blacked out use red lights and your tent has a few hundred watts worth of power turning you tent into a minuture version of the sun

not to mention if you live in an apartment you need to come up with some more snazy when the fire inspectors come around for their yearly inspection of the safety system & sprinklers

its easy, just buy a lock for your door. if not, try telling them your ninjas.. . and all your secret equipment is in their.

LED's put off a reddish light, but if it's lightproof that wouldn't matter. As for the fire inspections, I lived in apts for about 4 years and never had an inspection of MY unit. I saw them come around and check extinguishers, laundryroom, etc. If you have it in your closet though, there usually isn't any fire surpession in there. I've seen complete tent set-ups and with a little filtration and maybe ona. Very doable. You can lock the closet door if there's no reason for it to be inspected. It's not that uncommon. "I keep jewelry and valuables in there." "I use it as my little mini-storage." That would work with an armoire for your clothes.

so far i haven't had an inspection **knock on wood**

im pretty chill with my manager i go into the office and kick it, we chat it up, in cali everyone has a friend that grows these days, her husband smokes but she doesnt so shes cool with it plus with prop 215 & **420 (i forget) she really cant do a thing even if she found people growing in her complex
