I have a 6' girl out in the woods getting ready to bud and I have noticed this strange spotting and yellowing occurring on her leaves from the bottom to up to 4'. Picture is included.
Can't figure this one out! Her top looks great as the transition to flowering is slowly taking place!
We have had a tremendous amount of rain over most of the growing season and I wonder if this might have something related to that!IMG_1828.JPGIMG_1828.JPG

i got this off this site where the plant stress and diagnosis thread .. could be potassium or bugs..

if she is getting ready to flower it may have attracted bugs but some deficiency goin on as well they have an organic way of killing bugs that will not hurt the flowering

I'll go back again and take a look for bugs..Didn't see any last time...
NO NO NO BUGS!!!! NOT MOISTURE!! I hate when people don't know what it is they are looking at and just take a guess!!! if u don't know for sure what it is then don't say anything!!!! Marijuana growing is some serious shit!!! And we take it seriously!!! I know I need my shit, and so does this poor guy wit the problem!!! and bad advice will fuck up someones crop!!! Anyways man.... I am going through the same exact shit... mine are also outdoors but in pots... And mine are locking out nutes due to low PH... Did u amend the soil with Dolomite lime before u planted it???? if not then this is what I would do... get POWDERED DOLOMITE LIME (make sure its powdered) mine says on the bag that it desolves quickly.. Mix 1-2Tablespoons per gallon soil.. ex... 3gal pots 3- 6 tabespoons I mix mine with water to make it work faster... u can top dress the soil and just water that way too.. but I don't know if urs is in the ground or pot?? either way mix up allot its hard to give them to much... I just mixed up mine with some nutes and epsomsalts (mine looked like they were lacking shit) so I gave them everything (regular feeding) Im almost positive its a PH issue, and some nutes being locked out.. Have u fed it? its starting to bud so have u fed it phosphorus?? I would just mix the lime with some nutes and epsomsalt and water the shit out of it... let it dry and u can do it again with just the lime... then u should be good.. it mite take a week or 2... but u will be good... hope this helps... here is a pic of mine looks the same???defi 084.jpgdefi 080.jpg

Looks like K deficiency to me. Usually happens on taller plants and you are going into flowering so...I am not going to say that I am 100% positive but the necrosis and yellowing veins and a tall plant going into flower, worth looking into. GL.

It's definitely not bugs. Looks like fungus to me the way it blotches (concentrated in the center and fades around the edges). The background information, you saying how it's been raining a lot recently, gives me more reason to believe it's fungus. Take my advice lightly though, I don't want to be the cause to a ruined crop. Experienced growers please don't chop my head off.

I hope it works out for you though, from one vet to another (Operation Enduring Freedom).

THANKS! I'll give them some lime today! They already had bunches of good fertilizer and I did lime them back in late April but possibly the lime has all washed away!

I recently ( a week) gave it some extra burst of Potassium in a seperate feeding. When I planted them in April I only used Osmocote ( have had good results with it in the past) Again wondering if all the rain depleted the osmocote?? If so I think I corrected that last week. Once again the top third of the plant looks great!

I guess I could spray with fungicide but the only problem with that is that the rain will wash it off within a day! :(

Fwiw dolomite lime (even powdered) is not water soluble. Its a mineral (calcium magnesium carbonate), which means its a rock, and so powdered dolomite is just the pulverized form. It still has all the great benefits the one guy was talking about (Buddha, I think), but if you aren't growing in hydroponics then I wouldn't add it to the water, just top coat with it and mix it down as far as you can without damaging the roots (by digging) and pouring water should keep moving it down. Lime is great, but being non-soluble it will not be available to the plant until it has broken down into its individual components. That's why even when people add lime to fix a deficiency, they go ahead and add Epsom salt (soluble form of magnesium) anyways.

But either way, I am DEFINITELY, ABSOLUTELY, about 60% sure (nyuck nyuck) that is a fungus on that leaf. See how the dark spots kind of fade out around their perimeter? That would be my guess. Maybe try taking a rag with some hydrogen peroxide? Or yeah, use the fungicide. If it rains just go back and put more.

Also, granted this is probably not what's going on, and usually happens more with seedlings instead of mature plants, but over watering can lock out nitrogen, which will cause the bottom leaves to start yellowing. So perhaps that in conjunction with the fungus is causing your problem.

I understand that it is not water soluble. but it does mix in with the water (given you buy the powerded kind) I mixd it in gallons and shook/watered/shook/watered/etc....till it was gone... and the reason why I did it this way instead of top dressing is cuz it gets in the soil faster this way and starts working faster IMO... I use top dressing when im trying to prevent PH problems from happening before they happen. but ill mix with water when there is a problem already just to get it in the soil faster and work faster... also IMO that is not fungas just cuz I just had the same exact problem... looked exactly the same on 2 of my plants! ( I tried to use different soil mix this go around and fucked shit up) wont do that again! rather spend the extra money to get what I always use...

YEAH see its been almost 3 months since last time they got lime!! you should give it to them bout every month and half- 2months... try what I saidbefore.. I would also mix ferts with it, also some epsomsalts.... but give them nitrogen also cuz could be blocking that out with the ph issue. could be blocking out everything so id give them a dose of everything that way when the lime works the nutes are there for the plant to use....

I think I will try a few of all your ideas! I'll give her some dolomite and epsom salt and hit her with some anti-fungus neem spray to work on the fungus problem!
Thanks again for all those ideas!!
Just a final question about how much lime and epsom salt would I use? This girl is in the ground in a whole I prepared last winter with dolomite and poured in Miracle Grow soil and osmocote in mid- April. The whole is probably about a 7 gal. size.
Any suggestions???
I'm going out to her tomorrow ( if the weather holds!)
