I remember tucking them into bed at 8:30pm. I'd tickle their backs, they'd giggle asing for more goose bumps! And then all of a sudden they would crash and be asleep. Nothing better than watching a little one slip into sleep, taking that one big breath and that sweet smile....true peace.

Hug your kids, often!

BTW. That was 5 years ago. I actually stopped tucking them in bed when it became impossible to reach the bed without breaking my neck!

So my next piece of wisdom, hold on to the good memories.

Okay enough already!! :) Got some posting to do!

Okay here are some older pics taken on 7/15.

Mums

These two are the same pic. The one on the right is original off the camera which I almost deleted but saw something to show. Can you tell which part I cropped? :) The left cropped pic still had to be reduced to get to 800x600. The right pic was uploaded direct from 2800x1600.

More mom shots.

Hey, listen guy, i think that you have great initiative, but you really need to slow down a little bit. I see that you like to do a lot of things, but you really need to focus on maybe 1 or 3 plants and not try to grow from half the god dam strain banks. I can tell you that genetics is half the battle, but growing some good chonic can happen with shitty bag seed too. You killed a lot of plants just learning how to do dwc, you could have had over a pound from those outdoors from those clones. Regardless, you also have issues with your set up. powder mildew or grey mold doesn't go away easily and it will destroy any quality of bud you hope to grow. just as soon as you buds look nice you will see it close by. You need to adress this problem with a dehumidifier or better ventilation, or maybe not circulating ventilation in the same room. anothing thing is, you have a lot of water in there, you could fill that cabnet with 5 inch thick stems if you had even half the water in there. it is adding to your humidity and your not getting much more plant growth out of it, your better to train your plants, with LST then to have a god dam swimming pool in there.

I can tell from your posts hat if you wanted too you could run a multi million dollar op in a few years. regardless get your shit working right. you have a lot of potential.

Someone needs to roll one up :joint: and take it easy on 'em.

I don't think he is really hiding it from his kids. He said in a previous post that he had his kids help paint the inside white... maybe they didn't know it was for his cab.

It's great to hear you reconnected with your daughter the other day... wish all fathers cared about their kids like you.

He might be right though about the lst. You can transplant into starter plugs then put them in small pots of dirt and train your plants to stay short and get a descent amount out of you buds. Using soil, I think the plants are a little more forgiving and takes a little less care. Hopefully your mothers recoup ok and give you some nice cuttings soon:weed:.

Yeah, you were a little rough. Made some good points, but remember that you will catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

What I wouldn't give to be able to slow down. My whole life is buzzing right now and with all the stuff happening, I'm not really able to put as much time into the grow as I'd like. Add to it motivational issues with depression and it becomes a huge battle to get anything done! I also have issues with focus. You may catching me working on things that don't matter vs. things that do.

This grow isn't about arriving at the final destination as it is more about the journey. I may not be producing any weed, people have gone through complete cycles in the time I've been posting. But I've also seen people take my ideas in their grow and make them work and succeed. That brings me a huge sense of satisfaction.

I love the sciences. Have you ever built an Van Peltier Air Conditioner? How about a rudimentary Swamp Cooler? The chemistry of nutrients and the different factors which give success and failure. Just watching the plants grow and the way they grow is fascinating!

One thing I know about myself, I'm not great at planning and managing things, but technically you give me a list of things to do and what order to do them in, I'll whip shit out like there's no tomorrow and it'll work!

If you want to go in together on a multi-million dollar grow, just call me!! You do the managing and I'll do the building and we'll be rolling in it!! :bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint:

Bottom line is I agree with you. Thanks and welcome to my journey!

No way man. This family works on the truth! Everyone in my household understands the law and the consequences. Just buying my 1/4 oz every two weeks and having tht in my house is enough to bring legal havoc down on my family so adding in 6 or 7 plants isn't gonna change things much.

Besides my kids are too smart. They know what I suffer from. They understand my good days and my bad days. In many ways they are part of my therapy. Besides, this is a great learning tool! I guess I could just as well be growing tomatoes and strawberries hydroponically for them to get the scientific benefit of watching life grow. What would I be teaching my kids by sneaking around the place freaking out everytime they walked into the garage?

Times are changing and I can see it with the attitudes from what my girls are learning in school about drugs. They actually teach kids that research is being done with Marijuana and the medical benefits. The message is starting to become one of "moderation". Gone are the days of just telling your kids "No. Because I said so." It only empowers them to defy you more! The message is more "If you are going to do (sex, drugs, drinking, etc) make sure you are careful and do things the right way and be safe (condoms, designated drivers, etc.).

Bottom line. Don't lie to your children.

Hey my skin's pretty thick and I know there wasn't any ill will. There is plenty of drama going on in this journal and I can imagine you can get caught up in it. How many of you have had to start taking Paxil after reading through all this?:lol::lol:

The one big truth though is I have been doing "too much". Too many plants, too many strains, too much space, light, etc. But then again, I suffer singular events such as bugs and mold and such which could happen with one plant or 1,000 plants. So no matter what, those issue still need to be solved. And I'll get there. :)

Yeah but hydro grows faster and is easier to fix problems, but problems can be more 'o plenty too. Guess it a dual edged sword, cut ya either way you turn!
Besides, almost anybody can grow a plant in soil. ;) ;) But my brain wants to see something different! Growing in water is cool! But honestly, it makes the most sense to do given the amount of space I have. I considered all the different mediums and from my reading this one made the most sense to do.

Yeah, you were a little rough. Made some good points, but remember that you will catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

WOW, really WOW! thats good motivation there! You know you really gave me something to think about. I have a 13 year old girl. i was discharged out of the military for pot use. i always told her when she was old enough to understand it i would tell her the truth. i have been growing for about 8 months, without her knowing. I have always wanted to tell her but just dont feel she or my wife are ready. but you got me to thinking maybe I should.

well i wasnt feeling well today so I came home at lunch. you had me thinking bout my little girl and she was home, so I really couldnt wait to see and talk to her (not telling her bout the pot yet). but when i got home, i found she had snuck her boyfriend over and in the house, without permission from either parent (like either of us would really let 2 13 years olds be alone together with a handful of cushy surfaces to choose from, shoot, i wouldnt leave a 13 year old version of myself alone with a girl in a waiting line!!!). man was i hurt :(

well the boy left, unharmed :fire:! but i am now torn. i obviously need to build trust with my daughter before I can share my secret. but this isnt the first time she has shown this side of herself, just not like this before. sorry to drop my drama, but I found it somewhat humorous that you enlighten me, for her to darken my day!! I love my daughter, and I dont want to stop her from growing up. i dont want to be my parents ("No. Because I said so." types).

thanks though JS, your words do still mean something, and have really made me think more. maybe i can use your words, and her recent behavior to change something. time to think...

Dude, my daughter has already done things no Dad ever wants to see or hear. But then again, I did things as a teenager that my Mom would not be too proud to hear about. This made me realize something, it's natures way of keeping life going!! 30,000 years ago nobody survived past age 20 so who do you think were having babies? Hormone crazed teenagers!!! :D :D And I was one.

I want my daughters to grow up with the same dreams and desires I do, without fear of trying things out and experimenting. I'd rather give them the "basics" of life and let them start to make decisions for themselves and experienceing the consequences when they don't make the best choices. The two philosophies we raised our kids on:

http://www.loveandlogic.com/ and
http://www.family-rules.com/

Basically we let our kids choose their destiny and we try to not "rescue" them from their choices. This is true as long as safety is not an issue (aka I won't let them burn the house down). However the choices they make must also must be made within:
  • The Laws (rules) of the Family
    • Rule #1 - Obey the Laws of the Land (Federal, State, Local, School)
    • Rule #2 - Treat other peoples things with respect
    • Rule #3 .... etc
All members of the family must abide by the rules including parents, and if rules are broken then you must suffer consequences (20 minute chores). I've said "Bad Words" in the house and been busted by my kids and had to sweep the driveway and clean out a trash can. I'm real good at not saying those words around the house any more. My kids always think the deal is rigged because I don't have to do chores very often. I keep telling them to look at the list of rules and tell me which ones I've broken and I'll do the time for the crime. They can't find anything. ;) ;) But I've learned through life after 50 years it's easier to put the glass in the dishwasher right away than it is to do 40 all at once plus living in the filth while it grows to 40!!

Regarding boyfriends and sex. If it's going to happen then it's going to happen. All I wish for is that it's done safely and it's done with respect for both my little girl and the dude (it's some guys son afterall). If love is there then that's better, but respect also includes discretion!!! I have seen how evil girls can be so the guys isn't always the one to blame.

My girls also know the difference when they come forward about something vs. us "finding out about it". My girls feel safe in going to Mom (most thing seem to be girly affairs) about everything so far. I get the back story feed so all is good. But my kids know Mom and I tell all to each other (most times when it's not considered TMI...girls....DUH!!). My oldest has asked me about boners and slow dancing as well as how boys feel "when they fall in love". I told her the truth about how I felt when I was her age (won't go into details). I think I gave her good perspective. I sure wish my momma woulda told me how the girls were feeling at that age.

And you won't hear me say this anywhere else but I do hope they have as good as sex in their life as their momma has had. :) :) :) And that still comes with LOTS of respect.

Bottom line give, them a really good safety net then let them start to fail. They start to pay attention real quick. They are real smart and won't screw up too often. My kids:

  • know how to pack for vacation, camping trips, camps, overnighters, etc. and they never forget anything!! It's amazing the number of girls who have their mom's pack for them and the amount of crap they forget to pack!!!! My kids are more prepared than I am!!! Score 1 for parents here!!! :) :) :)
  • never forget to bring money to the theater, fair, school event, etc. (they can always share the small root beer and popcorn we get for the family. Anything else is on their dime). They get an allowance.
  • bring their own water (they'd get a capful an hour from us just to stay safe) :)
  • Never late to school (NOT...they do lots of chores for this one...breaking school rules is not good)
  • Lot's of other good things.
So the things that go wrong for them are in the things that we call the mysteries of life and love. They are going to experiment and I will be here to help them make the right choices and console them when they suffer the consequences of their bad choides. :)

Geeez what's with all the life and philosophy crap!!! :blsmoke::blsmoke::blsmoke:

What's more important....I scored 9,000 btu's for $150!!! :) :) :)

It was a fucking race! Ad posted, I didn't see it for 20 minutes, called, someone already on the way, get to work, she calls back, other person wanted to pay $140 with a check and and wanted to pick up two hours later (I told her I had cash and could pick up any time the first time I talked to her). The other person flaked and I scored! WHEW!!

Now to get my ass home and play with this thing. I'll post pics later!

Wanna start talking about the "Universe and the Bounty it Brings Us?" of course we can't receive until once we are ready to accept. :) :) :joint:

Bottom line. Universe said get back on your Fucking Meds then I'll give you an AC unit! No joke the ad came up 5 minutes after taking my first pill after 3 months. bongsmiliebongsmiliebongsmilie

Good deal. I don't believe in idle threats other wise our "word" is meaningless. Some times I've doled out too much punishment and had to recant. But I made sure there was still punishment.

The chores deal is nice in that once they finish the chore they are free. But if they have chores pending they can still do their homework or lay on their bed and do nothing or do the chores. They've missed a few birthday parties and overnighters because they decided not to do their chores in time. But then I've seen them power through 20 chores (yes they add up) just in time to go do something. They know all about "time for crime" and they also know that the length of the punishment is all within their control.

We all signed the same contract to abide by the rules. The kids thought it was cool because they could bust Mom and Dad. And they did. But Mom and Dad learned how to live within the rules and so hopefully we are setting good examples in doing so. :)

It's "do as I do" not "do as I say".

Damn that's quite a read. You have a great attitude with your family. Kids know when you lie to them even if it's years later. Like you said the Universe works out. Karma is something I try to follow. Treat people with respect, and expect it back.
Gumball that's some irony there. Think of it for quite a story someday, like maybe college time.
