Unusually Big Seeds? any idea of strain

Hey guys I was recently given about 60 seeds to grow and in that 60 there were about 3 unusally big seeds like 2 - 3 times the size of the adverage seed any idea of strain or has anybody gotten some big seeds like this before? Maybe BIG BUD ? at least I hope:-P and for any one who might follow my threads I talk to the land lord and everything is smooth sailing! Thanks for all the help!!!
 
i don't think theres anyway of telling the strain from the seed, probably just some mutants or something, good luck tho!!

Thanks for responding man and Thats what I was thinking I just really want big bud right now and that would be awesome. My friend said he could sell me a clone for $20 is that a good deal or could I find better? because I have found seeds online for about $25 - $28 and you get anywhere from 10-20 seeds so I'm not to sure about what I want to do. And your avatar is fucking awesome.

Well relating to this subject, I have noticed certain strains have different sized seeds, consistently. Such as Herijuana, by sannies seeds, all of the seeds seem small and in-viable, but they are actually strong and vigorous. I have also noticed sativa strains have generallly smaller seeds than indicas...

from MY experience, it doesnt matter how big the seed is, as long as it is mature and properly prepared for germination it will do just as good as any "bigger seed"

20$s is definitely a rip off for a clone of big bud. Just pick a pack up from attitude.

big seeds aren't a very good indication of what the strain is. why don't you just germinate them and see what they are?

the downside of getting seeds over a clone is you have to wait a couple of months before the seedlings become suitable to clone.

you could see if he would drop the price a little, if he is a friend he should. some folks will sell clones for as little as a couple of dollars, but there is usually a minimum amount that you have to buy. some dispensaries around here (CO) sell clones for between $10 and $30 depending on strain, size, etc...

on the upside if you do get the clone you could take more clones off of it as soon as it is big enough to cut them. none of that waiting for seedlings to show sex.

plus if you are gonna buy seeds why get a lame strain like big bud (no offense). in this game its about quality not quantity. I have never heard a stoner say "man i wish i could still find that big bud..."

A) Seed size doesn't mean anything. When I first ordered seeds...I was disappointed to see they were all much smaller than the seeds I'd been fishing out of shwaggy bags for years. As in 1/2 sized. But man o man...the finished product was 5x better than any swagg!!!
B) Big Bud is not an expensive strain...I second the get seeds from Nirvana or the likes. For $20 - $25 you can prolly get 10 regular sex seed which on average will produce 4-6 females.
 
The Biggest seeds i ever had were from a mexi sativa, they looked like peas in size. I heard the bigger the seed the bigger the plant can grow , but i doubt it.

They were hella hard to germ, one of 10 made it.

I'm just going to germ. them and see what i get i just hadnt seen any of this size.And the reason I want big bud is because my growing environment isnt very big and big bud can yeild big and it doesnt have to be too big to do so plus the big bud he is selling is BIG BUD X WHITE WIDOW the other is BIG BUD X SOUR DIESOL I have smoked both kinds from the the last harvest in comparison to my sour diesol and widow there wasnt to much of a difference. And I want to have enough bud too last me through the next grow so I'm never out of weed you know what I mean?

what exactly are you debating?

A: I didn't say that seed size meant anything.

B: My point was that big bud is a commercial quantity strain. one that has a mediocre flavor and high.

As far as production rate a clone can get a yield faster than seeds will. I figured a guy who wants to grow big bud is probably interested in turnover...

So, If you are gonna go take the risk of ordering seeds... why not get seeds that have the potential to grow some really good smoke? I would take some ak over big bud any day.

Have you ever considered doing some sort of perpetual harvest (SOG)?

there is no better way to keep the green flowing. :bigjoint:

I have read many threads on SOG growing but im not sure on how exactly it works if you could grab me a good thread to read on it I would love to try it my last grow was Thunderfuck and a Kush strain the thunder didnt yeild much at all but the kush did amazing. only thing is the thunderfuck is beautiful looking/smelling/tasting truly an amazing strain I want a big bud clone so I can try and cross breed it BIG BUD x THUNDERFUCK and see if I can increase yeild with out compromising to much quality. plus I want to have enough smoke to last me through my next grow.;-)

I hit quote...but it was a general reply. Not really directed at you. Sorry for the confusion. I've had a good bit of Nirvana AK 48...WOW. It is STRONG. Flavor is decent with a good cure...but you are buying it for firepower imho. I absolutely agree with you...I've never even considered a strain like big bud. With a bit more knowledge...I'd have to say that now I'm most interested in taste AND low odor in growth. A NL5 x Haze blend for example.
