Greetings RIU and Welcome!

I wanted to start this thread to keep a log and details on recently homegrown seeds for myself and others. Please feel free to ask questions, drop a line, share your work or leave criticisms. All is welcomed here. Looking forward to seeing your works and sharing mine. Thank You for joining ~

-a bit of my growing experience
2011/12: Started my humble grow journey with a couple (bag)seeds outdoor. Soon moved growing indoors with a 4*4, a 400w ballast and an inline fan w filter. I was hooked. Took a couple classes at the local college and learned about cloning, pests and plant management.

2013/17: I was invited to work at a small organic farm where I spent the bulk of my time learning about the plant's full sun cycle/season, training, soil and site prep, watering/feeding, harvesting and processing. Plants on the farm were usually very large and healthy, 300gal beige smartpots and some in ground sites that seriously took off. Stayed and worked until laws changed and farm was shut down.

2019/current: Got back into indoor homegrown. It was sort of like picking up where leaving off before in 2013(indoor), but equipped with more training techniques (Thanks G.) and further plant & cannabis knowledge/experience.

Seeds have always interested me. The fact that a small container (basically housing a tiny plant) when germinated, grows into something big and productive, like a fruiting bush or a tree.. Just fascinating! So, it only felt natural to want to create and grow my own seeds by influencing a strain's outcome through intentional pollination.

I, as what other growers/farmers do with lot's of exciting new genetics/clones and hype around strains, spent time searching, finding and purchasing quality genetics that may or may not ever see the light of day. I have also spent several cycles pollinating different plants. With a surplus of genetics and a small space to explore, only so much can be done. But still, I'm excited to face the Goliath and share my work with the community.

If anyone is interested in growing/testing any genetics you see here, please send a DM. Also have a few more crosses and some regular beans as well.

Proud to present to you these creations and looking forward seeing your work ~ Thank you!

This is what I want to do. Homegrown seeds and make different strains. Only one more week and I can start. :D

Greetings ~ I hope all is going as well for everyone as possible. Wanted to share an update on the testers, showing their progress.

Nov. 27: Seeds dropped into shot glasses of water with a couple drops h2o2.
20231127_204113.jpg

Nov. 29: Placed seeds into 4in*4in starter pots and into the 2*2 with 24hr lighting. Using about 20% of 240w LED board, ~50w power. Phontone app reads 100ppfd at pots. Heat mat set to 78°f and sensor in one of the pots reading soil temp.
20231129_120912.jpg

Dec 1: First to sprout were (1) Banana OG x LCG followed by (2) Purple Jelly x Rainbow Beltz.
20231201_184252.jpg

Dec 2: Last group of seeds to pop were the Cereal Milk x Rainbow Beltz.
100001288.jpg

Dec. 3: Eight out of nine seeds popped and the last seed (CMxRB) is on it's way up.
20231203_074859.jpg

Notes: Seeds were propagated in 2*2 with recovering clones being treated for root and pest damage. I used a homemade blend of oils and acids the poster called 'one-n-done' found on another forum.

Definitely recommend checking it out! This mix is better than anything I've used before. After one treatment on Nov. 24, I have yet to see new signs of damage (healthy growth), and no signs of pests. Using a jewelers loupe I'm seeing only dead bugs. :blsmoke:

For nutrients, I'm currently using 2ml k-silicate, Jack's 5-12-26 @ 3g+100mg aminos and 2g cal-nitrate+200mg cal-sulfate, reaching a final pH of 5.9. Will add Olympus Up or Bloom city's ph down if needed.

Looking forward to seeing what the progeny has in-store and getting to share it with the community. :leaf:

Peace & Thank you for visiting ~
Have a good one :eyesmoke:

Clones being used this round:

Banana OG - This legendary "OG" was picked up from a local vendor. Around week 4 hints of banana start to emerge from the sticky buds. Flowers finish curing with a banana Runtz candy smell.
Screenshot_20231203_125631_Gallery.jpg

LCG - marketed by the likes of 'backpack boys', LCG packs a major punch. Golf ball buds smell of a unique fruit with the backend of diesel. Great bud to smoke and share with friends.

Cereal Milk - when picking up these clones from another vendor, this was labeled "Oreoz" and the previous was labeled "Cereal Milk". Frustrated, I went on a mission to collect info, compare to plants produced in a facility and confirmed the genetics were corrected. This cut has a hint of strawberry mixed with dough. Nice balanced high and flavor.

Purple Jelly - a renamed clone from Seed Junky. Similar to other SJG's Jealousy strains including the gassy flavor, purple hues and potent buzz.
Screenshot_20231203_125919_Gallery.jpg

Rainbow Beltz (donor) - stinkiest and stickiest clone when running at the time. She's got a lime-like 'pinchy' smell, not quite citrus like lemon, but very nice and sweet. Was the first choice smoke. Good day time herb.

Seedlings have been moved to the 2*4 tent.
Left2right: (3)Banana OG x LCG, (3)Purple Jelly x Rainbow Beltz, (1)LCG s1, and (2)Cereal Milk x Rainbow Beltz. One of the CMxRB seeds didn't make it, and 1 is a runt, so popped a LCG s1 seed to replace the dud and test another line. Plan is to keep all 9 homed and flowered in this tent, we'll see how it goes.. hope everyone is having a good one! Peace :leaf:

Here's a Pai Gow x Meat Breath x (MM F5) (fem) I sprouted on the 15th, I think. For simplicity's sake, I'm calling this one Meat Pai. She's one of a couple of impulse pops that I really didn't have room for, but just HAD TO try. So, she's gonna eventually get transplanted to a 1gal pot where she'll live out the rest of her possibly short life in my very first attempt at coco. Wish her luck.

Thanks, @Blue_Focus. I've been cycling the exhaust fan for 5min on (setting 3) 10min off. Keeping humidity between 60-75% max. It took some tuning to get it set up..

Welcome @sfw1960! I hope you enjoy your stay.

Meat Pai is a great name @Fangthane. Looking healthy, hoping it grows well for you.. and you get a female! Or you at least use the pollen if he's a healthy male. For reference the lineages are: Symbiotic's (Jackpot x Purple Punch f2) x Big Pond Genetics's (Meat Breath x (Mendo Montage F5) ) Bound to have some tasty buds. :weed:

The ( 8 ) testers are on their 14th day and LCG s1 is about a week behind. They had stretched during their initial sprout but I will bury the stem next week when transplanting them into their final pots. Planning to keep the cycle short and simple. Extra clones are backups of other plants sharing the space for the time being.

Thank you to everyone tuning in. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone is growing here and throughout RIU! Lots of exciting community journals and threads upcoming. It's definitely nice to see all the community grows. Peace All! :leaf:

Isn't Meat Pai feminized? You'd said that Pai Gow x Midnight Cowboy and Vietnamese X Vintage Afghan F2 were the only regs from the first batch.
Yes, you are correct! I was just about to go back and edit, but I'm glad you caught that. Good catch, long day lol. Lemme see if I can pull up a photo of the mom I reversed.

Day 59 Meat Breath x (MM f5)
20220109_083324_copy_1258x1678.jpg

Thick "bubbly" buds were filled with sticky resin and carried a distinct "meat pasta sauce" mixed with berries smell, really unique.

Nice. Already about ready to murder the 2 little regs I have now. Put them in the 5x5 a few days ago so should know sex before too long. Have a feeling their days are seriously numbered either way, but it'd be nice if I could collect some pollen first.

Have they come around at all since last time I'd seen them? Everything else was looking good while the one just stalled out.. ever figure it out?
