UnderPhire's First Grow Journal

Hey Hey! After contemplating growing for a while I finally decided to put things into action. Since this is my first time growing I'm not using any costly strain, just some seeds that came out of an awesome bag I got a while back.

Grow Setting - 2'x2'x4' Indoor Growbox, Interior painted reflective white
Lighting - 120v 75w Phillips Agro-Light
Timer - Brinks 44-1020 6 Setting Vacation Timer
Growing Containers - 6''x6'' Houseplant pots (To start them in)

Here is a picture of my growbox so far, I put a houseplant in it just so you can see how it is going to work for now since I don't have any plants yet. There is going to be a door added to it and another larger fan at the top to work as an exhaust, but this is enough to get the idea of things

I will post pictures of the seeds as soon as they start to form their tap root. Right now they are germinating in paper towel enclosed in two Styrofoam plates. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I will try to update this are frequently as possible, hopefully I get enough progress to update daily. Until next time, :peace:

After quite a bit of research online here is the soil that I decided to go with, any comments? This is the only type of MG that I have heard good things about, in my test of my growbox with a random small houseplant I used MG Moisture Control but had a terrible time with drainage. I hope this stuff does the trick!

Just for sake of wanting a detailed account from seed to smoke I decided to put up a picture of the seeds before they grow their tap root. It has only been about 18 hours since they were put in the paper towel, but they are not showing any signs of germination. From what I have read this is not a cause of worry because germination rates vary quite a bit.

(Sorry it's so blurry, my camera is not great up close)

Welcome to the forum. You can also post pics right in the thread by going advanced, then manage attachments. They will show up as thumbnails in the bottom of the post. That way anyone interested in seeing a blurry picture of some bag seeds can click on it and enlarge it for clarity and accuracy. You can post as many as five pictures in one post, just about enough to cover a week at a time. VV

thanx look nice. Stretching a little maybe. thats ok, you can always prop it up. I use skewers, you can get them a lot of different places. Cost about a buck for 50 or so. VV

Yeah I noticed it getting tall a little fast so I lowered the light and I used a toothpick to hold it up

Well the first plant finally can hold itself up without the help of a toothpick, it needs to thicken up if you ask me though because of all the stretching. Still no sign of the other guys, they were late to start so I should be seeing them poke through tomorrow morning.
