Transplanting during flowering

I just started growing after over a decade break so I am a bit rusty on my knowledge .

I have only 2 plants in flowering at the moment . They are 2 weeks in in 3 gallon pots . I am wondering if I transplant into 5 gallon if it will shock them or if root growth has pretty much stopped and it wouldn't be worth the stress .

I won't have anything else ready for flowering for for a while but I have plenty of space .

Summary -
2 weeks into flowering in 3 gallon
will putting them in 5 gallons be beneficial at this point
plenty of room .

I wouldn't TP them unless they actually need it . . . can you see any roots trying to come out the drainage holes? Pot likes to be a bit crowded in the root-zone. You want all your grow energy on the tops, not in the roots.
In my opinion, there's nothing to be gained at this point if they aren't busting out of the planter.

They aren't root bound but I am sure the pots are filled with roots considering the growing medium . I am trying to maximize bud .

Any know for sure ? Have experience with it ?

if they are not root bound, MF is right. The less stress the better. Your plants are not wasting time with root development right now. Keep it that way.

I missed this the first read .

These are the reasons I was thinking it wasn't a good idea - if I would of thought to do it a week ago when they were still growing up it wouldn't of been much of a thought . Now they are 2 weeks in the upward growth is slowing and they are starting to bud not just popping flowers so I feared it could slow em down but would like to hear people's experience . If I had more than 2 growing I would run my own experiment .

Out of the 2 one is a definite front runner for mother - it is squatter and bushier and the other one is much taller . The squatter one's clones rooted faster as well with less wilting .

I see at the bottom there are other threads about the same thing . Will just refer to them .

I thought I used search before I posted .....

I got not one, but TWO bad rep points for this post. Ceestyle PM'd me that he'd accidentally hit my "bad" rep, then did it again, evidently trying to fix the mistake. Maybe the moderators can adjust it?
I certainly stand by this advice.

I'll PM RIU. Sorry about that. Your advice was good.

I always kept to the rule to transplant a week before flower and no more. I like to make sure the plant is completely over any transplant stress before 12-12. I think you are good man, just remember next time bigger the better as early as ya can.

You think the canopy is too thick ? I been looking at everyone's pic's and they all seem thinned out for the most part . You think I am robbing myself of yield ?

It has been years since I last grew - I am not up on the current "proven" trends . I don't have enough plants to test with and the test will be better served using like clones on the next run .

Thanks guys

The thickness of the canopy is really dependent on the strain and how ya train'em. I use the sea of green method in which ya cut all lower branches to make a nice thick canopy to put all it's energy into. Therefor I get massive colas and minimal popcorn nugs.

This is what I was referring to . It is 2 weeks in flower mode . Would it be better served to thin it out ya'll think or you think it will be okay ? As you can see , it has been bent to hell and back . If I had my hps I would keep bending it out but if I go any wider it won't be under the T5 . They have CFL's around the sides and underneath to supplement .
