Hey Bill ...

I know you post on this site, right? I mean, you're a fellow pot head, right? You love politics, right? So why wouldn't you post in this forum?

So anyway, I was watching your show last night and heard you ask the question: "Is Rush Limbaugh a racist"?

I don't know about Rush, but you seem to have a perpetual hard-on for Sarah Palin.

Are you a misogynist? bongsmilie

You know, I think people's disdain for Palin demonstrates something I find to be a general rule.

People on the Right tend to think people on the Left are foolish and people on the Left tend to think people on the Right are evil. The Right is much more likely to say that someone like Pelosi is an idiot and the Left is more likely to hate a person like Palin.

Personally, I think Palin was in over her head in the election and lacked the experience to be the VP. However, she did have more experience than Obama. But aside from that, there really isn't anything bad you can say about her. Oh, they tried like hell to find something but they came up short every time. I can only assume they hate her for her lack of shortcomings. Palin is a shining example of everything Feminism espouses except that she proves that a woman can be a success and be a traditional wife and mother at the same time. This really flies in the face of the Left with all their theories about oppressed women and their image of the whole world being dysfunctional and what not.

Anyway, it is interesting that there is so much hatred on the Left that doesn't exist on the Right. I don't hate Mahr, I think he is a dunce but I don't hate the man. I also think Obama is an arrogant megalomaniac who is woefully lacking in wisdom and common sense, but I don't dislike him in the least.

I believe he probably dislikes her for quotes like this one:

They're in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom.

I swear you guys kill me!

I don't hate Palin. That's the kind of shit a Christian would say when they say they love everyone. You can't hate or love anyone you don't personally know. I don't personally know Sarah Palin, so how could I hate her?

Moving on...

I really don't know what to say about supporting her... there is only a small EXTREMELY conservative base who strongly support her. She just says stupid things that make her look stupid, like ^ said about the VP question when she was asked... honestly, how can you take her seriously when she doesn't even know what her job would have entailed?

Another one off the top of my head that I found to be over the top dumb was when she railed on the fruit fly research not having any idea of the implications said research provided to the medical field alone... She says shit that people want to hear, those people are that tiny EXTREMELY conservative base I was talking about, the kind of people who walk around with signs like these at TeaBagger meet-ups...

..and my favorite...

The kind of people Beck rallies towards...

I don't understand why you guys support her. She's clearly ignorant on so many important issues, it would be a JOKE for her to hold any high public office. Ask her about science, she's done, ask her about fiscal responsibility, she's done, ask her about foreign relations, epicly done there...

But you guys will probably interpret this as "ATTACK ON PALIN, HE MUST LOVE THE SMELL OF OBAMAS SHIT!!!" -- well, to that I proudly say; Fuck Obama. I'd like to see you misinterpret that. That's black (well, green) and white english right there.

You would have to give me some insanly terrible choice on the ticket for the Dem's for me to ever consider voting for Palin. Like I said before, if she runs again in 2012, and she wins the primaries, she will not win the election, QUOTE ME, no matter what Obama does this entire 4 years, she is that bad of a candidate. So if you guys seriously want to win next time, do not vote for that idiot Palin. I guarantee she won't win.

Under FDR it was 94% during WW2, From 1950 to 1981 it never got less than 75%. Reagan got the tax on the rich down to 38% over 2 terms. It went up to 40% under Clinton and was slashed by Bush II to the lowest levels since the 20's

I know Maher CLAIMS to be a Libertarian, but there is nothing libertarian in his political viewpoints. The man is a statist. He's a hateful, obscene, arrogant son-of-a-bitch. I've been a member of the Libertarian Party for over 20 years and I watch Maher every week, so I should know.

How about listing the "libertarian" ideas that are espoused by Maher each week on his show. See if you can convince me otherwise. Thanks ... :)

"Sometimes people say to me, "You're not a real Libertarian because Libertarians believe there should be no gun control." I'm not a radical Libertarian, O.K.? Every party has something of a big tent." - Bill Maher

Thing is I am also a libertarian and i also disagree with mahr at least once a week especially on gun control. However, does that mean he dislikes palin because she is a woman? of course not. Because I disagree doesn't mean I can say things that seem false to anyone that watches.

How can a person, such as Maher, who promotes statism be a Libertarian? I've heard him say several time that he's a Libertarian, but there is just no way.

Yes, he's pro-gun control ... and that one issue alone flies in the face of libertarianism. We have the God given right to Life, Liberty and Property. The most basic of our property rights is the right to life. Having the ability to defend that right, entails the right to bear arms. Same thing holds for protecting our liberties as well, no matter if the threat comes from foreign enemies, or domestic enemies ... domestic enemies meaning government bureaucrats who take their jobs WAY to seriously and begin to believe that their function on this planet is to strip the citizens of their liberty.

And while we're on the subject of Sarah Palin ... She is a competent woman who is raising a family AND running a career at the same time ... and a conservative to boot. That is why the Left marginalizes Palin ... she just doesn't fit the mold of the liberal mindset of what a "liberated" women should be. And, Maher is one of the worst offenders in denigrating Palin. I mean, the guy just won't let up on the woman. I keep asking myself ... what in the world is it about Palin that frightens the Left so much? I mean, God forbid that other women take a cue from Palin. Why, the Left may lose an entire group of constituents if they follow Palin, right?

If I had my druthers, I would set up a meeting between Maher, Letterman and Tod Palin ... all three of them in a locked room. As soon as the screaming stopped, I'd open the door and take Todd out for a beer ... after he catches his breath.

Alright, there is only one thing left to conclude. Vi, you are delusional about Sarah Palin, or atleast the idea that "liberals are afraid of her"!

I really don't get it. I've tried to correct this line of reasoning for you on more than two different threads.

Look, this is how it is. This is the honest truth. She Is An IDIOT. She's stupid. She's simple. She's a MORON. She's Retarded.... is that clear enough for you? The only thing that scares me about Sarah Palin, and I'm sure this goes for Bill Maher too, is that she actually almost had the opportunity to become the FUCKING VP! Nobody that stupid should ever hold that much power in anything. Didn't Bush's administration prove that to you? Really, that's it. There is nothing scary about her ''image'' or anything. Nobody gives a fuck how she portrays herself or if she "looks conservative". That's a big difference between having a liberal mindset and a conservative one... Conservative mindsets actually care what your personal beliefs are, they want to know every little detail of your personal life and how you act in the bedroom because they all have to conform to eachother and nobody is allowed to deviate from the norm! Liberal mindsets don't give a fuck about any of that stupid shit... do what you want as long as it doesn't interfere with me or my shit. So your logic for being scared of her image is flawed.

So get the distinction right, it's coming from one of the people you claim "is scared of Palin" for whatever reasons... Scared of the possibility that a person so stupid could get ahold of so much power in the US. Not at all of her personally or her image or because she's conservative or whatever... just because she's such an idiot.

Be honest... would you let the bitch pack your parachute if you two were goin' skydiving? Huh, would you?...

You know there are different schools of political thought, right? You know there's no clear cut party line one must walk, right? You say you're a libertarian, so that means that anyone whose views don't match yours EXACTLY can't be a libertarian? You obviously think very highly of yourself, so I hate to break the news to you - there are different categorizations of libertarianism and they don't all match your own personal ideology to a "T". In fact, you fit into what Bill Maher would call "radical libertarianism". Other people would call it paleolibertarianism, or anarcho-capitalism.

Do ALL conservatives have to be pro-life, in order to meet your criteria for being "conservative"? Do ALL democrats have to be pro-choice? That's ridiculous.

Do you even KNOW what statism is? I'm starting to think it's just another word you're attempting to pejorate, even though its connotation is already pretty negative.

Um, no thanks.

Do you really think Sarah Palin is AT ALL intimidating to people who actually possess BRAINS?

Nice try, guyz ... but you read like a chapter out of Saul Alinski's book. Marginalize those with whom you disagree and then put them in the closet. Again, nice try ... but no Kewpie Doll.

And yes, doob, I do know that there are liberal libertarians. And yes, I am what one would call a Paleo-Conservative/Libertarian. So what? Maher is still a putz.

I believe he probably dislikes her for quotes like this one:

Bill Calls himself a libertarian for the controversy. The only thing he agrees with from the libertarian party is that drug use should be left up to the individual. Oh and social security. But come on, Bill is hardly a libertarian.

He's probably trying to distance himself from a party that is flushing itself down the crapper.

LOL.. so, you say WE marginalize those we disagree with, while marginalizing EVERYONE you disagree with. And all in one breath, that's impressive!

A+ for irony and extra credit for hypocrisy!

Obviously you DIDN'T know there were liberal libertarians until I pointed it out (hey, guess what? There are libertarian SOCIALISTS, too!), or you wouldn't insist on questioning someone's political affiliation just because their views don't mirror your own.

If Bill Maher is such a putz, why do you watch his show every week?

I seriously doubt you've ever read one of Saul Alinsky's books, yet here you are, pretending you know what's in them.

If you actually READ the "Rules for Radicals" you'd realize that it's not only the democrats or the white house who use these tactics, but also your precious right-wing media like Fox News.

I'm assuming you're speaking of #12:

Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)

Hmm.. interesting. Sounds like what you do here on a daily basis, as well. Who was it that just said "Bill Maher is a putz"?

Oh, right, YOU said that, while at the same time trying to insinuate that he isn't actually a Libertarian as he claims to be. "marginalize them and put them in a closet". Isn't that what you're trying to do to Bill Maher, right this very moment?
