Whats goin on, bro? I just stopped by to see how the show was progressing.... Damn nice tops you have going right now! That is a truly impressive plant. And like you said, they def still have some work to do. I'm excited for the taste test report! I got a couple free GH Bubba Kush I'm thinking about starting up next. Anyway, congrats on the good looking buds. You'll be harvesting before you know it. Should be cured nicely for 4/20! Good to hear from you, dak.. and thanks for the kind words on the buds. I'm pretty happy about it - this plant is already light years ahead of anything I had last year in terms of fatness and trich-ness. And right now, I'm pretty stoned on 3 hits of last year's bagseed sativa bud :eyesmoke:

. Been smoking the shit out of that stuff since last April, still very little tolerance. It's only good for one good stone a day, or two widely separated ones, but it's nice. I digress..

I'll put some more pic's up tomorrow for sure. Those nugs just keep fattenin' and tightening; every day is a treat! My seed crop looks ripe - the calyxes are splitting and the sugar leaf is dying back on them. I'm really getting stoked about my 12/12 fr seed superskunks, too. They were so skinny just 10 days ago; they're filling in so nice. Been giving them 2 4-6 hour periods of strong natural sunlight, when it's crystal clear out; which it's been alot lately. That would make some awesome pics right there.

Good luck with your Bubba Kush; I might like to grow a Kush next year. I've been doing a lot of seed bank cruising lately - Mandala, Sannie's, Speedy... a bunch. Haven't settled on anything though.

Just chillin along mostly. Got some kind of pest thing going on I think might be a fungus or rust (last pics). One of the superskunks was in a dead-zone circulation-wise. I made the connection when I went to water, and realized one pot was light and ready, the other still heavy despite the plants being in the same container, same height, same strain. Obvious that that plant is not transpiring the same.

Mostly just waiting them out at this point, and resisting the temptation to take an early branch off the Queen. Although hell, it's not like there's any shortage. I figure she still has a good 3, maybe even 4 weeks left; the skunks about 6.

The last pic under HPS is one of the seeded buds; the bud leaves on the seeded branches are dying back. I think those puppies are ready. You can see the skunks forming a little popsicle cola now. They're 42 days from emergence under 12/12. It looks like those two plants should put out about a 1/2 z together. I'm pleased.

The skunks have leveled off, so now everyone is on the 7-9-5 Liquid Grow. It seems to be doing a good job. The Queen has been on it for about a month now, and her yellowing came to a near-stop; no other deficiencies or weirdness going on, buds are fattening up; all good. I've cut to a 1/4 tsp and am now feeding every watering, trying to keep the soil solution more consistent rather than feed and then let nutrition trail off.

Let me know if you have any ideas about what that pest is. It's focused on the veins as you see. I've always been under the impression that mites and thrips attack the leaf material between the veins.

Figured I'd post it, in case it helps someone.

The rust following the veins is an anthracnose fungus. There's a shitload of info on these, as they attack a lot of fruit and nut trees. They're encouraged by cool, moist conditions. They often set up in the early, mid-spring when it's cool and wet, and are then fought off by mature plants as conditions warm and dry. They can take down younger plants, though, if it gets bad enough.

The second pic with the rounder spot may be a different anthracnose, but is more likely a bacteria. There are several leaf-pest bacteria that form the dimple structures I see underneath that leaf. Same driver -- cool moist conditions.

I've got an integrated plan to deal with this. First, I will paint the worst leaf or two with cloning powder, which has Immunox in it (an anthracnose killer). That will wipe out the worst colonies. Also, I scrubbed down all surfaces not in contact with the plants with bleach yesterday. I also fired up the overhead fan in the room for more circulation. Lastly, I'm going to give the superskunks some time directly under the light for a couple days. They've been on the fringe the whole time, which is part of the problem.

If you're visiting here, I'd encourage you to memorize those pics and what they are for your future toolbox. I've seen these things many times before outside, and it just didn't register at the time. They're everywhere, and are easily tracked in from outdoors.

Finished my plan to deal with the fungus issue today. Put the pots up on shims to improve drainage, centered the skunks under the light for a day or two, and treated the worst leaves with immunox powder. Should kick it..

The Queen and one skunk got another watering / feed today. I've gone to feeding lightly at every watering.

Thanks, man... that was a head-scratcher for awhile but, hey, I'm always glad for learning new grow issues and how to deal with them. And again, here was something I've seen a million times in my outdoor gardens but, when seen in the indoor context, it didn't register.

I'm pretty stoked for the pending harvest. Should be 3 more weeks max before something comes down; the "second tier" of colas may even be done in two... It looks like it will be a 3-phase harvest -- second tier colas first, primary colas second, then fatten up the popcorn on the bottom (that may be 4 weeks out or so). I'm waiting for another clear round of calyx fattening and pistil amber-ing before I cut anything. The trichs emerge at about 20% amber already, so there's little to no waiting on them.

Once the Queen gets reduced in width from that first stage of harvest, I'll be able to get the superskunks more directly under the light. I think they've got about 6 weeks left, so that means they'll get a good full month of full-strength HPS. That will rock. I can't believe how friggin' sugary those skunks are at this early stage.

I found a hermie ball on the Queen yesterday right where I took a little early sample two days ago (which was fucking awesome, BTW.. just a little short-lived, as preemie bud will be). I plucked it off and was about to march out of the room with it, then turned back and rubbed him on one of the lower skunk buds. Why the hell not? Two great plants; they should be married. Lovin' this seed production shit.. I was going to go feminized next time; now I think I'll stick to regs for the breeding.

Looking good as usual. Glad you got the fungus issue worked out. Amazing what a little moisture and no air flow will do? Cant wait to get a sample of mine also. I think it should be pretty good myself.

Thanks folks, for the comments. I'm pretty stoked; my main challenge right now is avoiding the early-harvest temptation. Some of those second level colas would make real nice smoke right now; trying to hang at least one more week or two on them. The little snip I took the other day gave that "top of my head is going to fly off" feeling - know that one? Usually, I have to drink and smoke together to get that.

More pic's tonight, assuming I'm not in pain after the work day (that's always a crap shoot). The buds really are putting on weight. I came in last night to find the Queen slumped over - she finally couldn't hold it all up anymore. Good thing the wood panels were there, or the whole kaboodle would have been on the ground. I've also been propping up the middle colas with strings of paper clips. It's crazy.

Okay, someone said more pics, so...

The first couple is the top cola today, and from four days ago. The perspective isn't the same; makes it look like she's added more than she has, but she's still added quite a bit. The next two are from the second tier of colas. The last two are of the bigger superskunk -- she's so triched out already, it's crazy. It looks like a stick of cotton candy in real life.

First, a few more bud shots a little closer in. This is one glandular bitch.. Seeing the pics helps my patience, though - she clearly needs a little time yet.

One thing I'd really hoped to do was to keep my fan leaves green late into the grow. Well, I fell a little short on that with the Queen (first leaf / stem pic). After burning up last years' plants, I was a little slow to start feeding and lost leaves due to N deficiency. But when the skunks started showing the same, I started feeding them 9-3-6 Foliage Pro every few days. That stopped it in its tracks, and they've looked great ever since (two leaf close ups). Since their height growth leveled off, they've been on the 7-9-5 Liquid Grow... so far so good.

!!!!! I also lost some of the fans she still is taking off. Ya gotta love that Dyna grow. Two doses of it and the new growth has been crazy the last two days. Nothing compared to yours but they are realy frosting up for some bag seed's. :lol:

Well, time for a little update. I've been a little lazy about posting lately; everything is kind of in a groove. Been keeping up the "feed every with every water" deal at 1/2 tsp 7-9-5 Liquid Grow per gallon. The girls have been sucking it up pretty good; the add'l air movement in there has increased usage a bit.

The Queen sure is putting on weight. The simple act of rotating the pot is a dicey move. Those colas just wave all around when you jostle the pot. I bought one of those metal loop stakes to support her, and she has a leash that keeps the tops oriented to the light. A few individual buds are looking ready now - starting to amber up, and the bud leaf tips starting to curl up a little.

One of the skunks is doing great; the other okay. That fungal infection either sapped her strength a little, or it's just her pheno. The better one is just friggin' amazing -- if you stare a bit at the first pic, you can see a "cotton candy" effect. Again, these are 12/12 from seed one week from the switch, so 51 days total.

Enjoy the pics... Queen first, great skunk, then so-so skunk. I wish I could get the Queen in some regular light, but I can't risk the move. The top colas have this awesome gray-blue color from just being swamped with trich's. Can't see it under HPS, though... :-?

. I don't let her lean like that, BTW... that first shot is with her leash off.
