Layed out today using Damon5050 Coir tek, a bit of gypsum added. 14 jars in 3 tubs.
Now time to wait. Longest 14 days of my life.
Even though they were a bit overgrown, I was able to shake them out without killing myself.

I think I am going to try straw. I have a bunch of jars of spawn ready to go.
I've been running Damion5050's coir tek for awhile now with awesome results, but seem to be having some trouble with it lately. They've always colonized within the 10-14 days he says they should, but the last 2 I ran just won't seem to colonize completely. Last one ended up contaminating after about a month and I have another one that is almost a month old and still not colonized at the top. Not sure what gives...

Most likely your coir got dry in places. A month is too long as your proof against contamination window is only about 2 weeks. Also you may be growing at too low a temperature. Best (if you are not doing so) to completely surround your container with a black plastic 1 mill bag with a few air holes - then, if the top is not fully colonized, simply pull the uncolonized coir out before you case.
