This is really fun! I decided to do something similar for my grow journal (sig), but I'm including soil as well! Bubblepon vs. DWC vs. Soil! I plan on doing the soil plants organic (I think) using bat guano and bone meal, mixing organic soil and peat moss. I'm pretty sure peat moss is ph, low (right?), and my tap water is ph high, so hopefully things will even out. The ph meter reads fine on my friend's plants that are further along (not included in the journal), and that's what we've been doing with them. I know using tap water with organic soil is a little hypocritical, but that's what I'm using in the hydro system, so it works better for comparison.

Yea I guess I'm sold too. I was going to make a standard rdwc with top drip to start as my next system but now I'll have to make some changes to make it a "bubblehead" setup. Wow I hate that word already and I've only typed it once so far.

Are there any examples of a fairly large rdwc setup converted to bubble? Plants with poundage not just ounces? Or just large bubble systems that have one tree per bin?

I think some people are confused about the amount of water that should be coming out of the net pots when the waterpump is on .I am not an expert and I had truble interpeting what a slight trickle means .I thought (being an absolute nubee at the time )that the flow of water comming from the bottom of the pots should be a small but steady stream , but through some trial and error I have found that as long as the net pots are DRIPPING continuosly and not a steady stream It seams to be enough and the plants dont seam to be drownding.
Again I am no expert and please someone correct me if I am wrong {like maybe roseman the god of bubbleponics}
but this seems to work for me.

You are absolutely right HIWAY. There should be very little water dripping from the net pot. You want as slow of a stream as possible.

After the roots are long enough and are in the water good,the tubes are no longer needed theyve found their watersource and will continue to grow downwards,
If the RW stays saturated or wet(it should be damp) you can run into big problems.

that it does rose but its worth it right. I ran my tubes until I could tell sex and then removed them while removeing the males. this time around I think Ill try 3 or four weeks depending on root growth.

Me too, MC, me too. After about 3 weeks.
I tossed my Drill Pump, its a dud, and I cleaned up a water pump, took off the filter cover and removed the nasty filter and I still use it to drain my tanks.
