Think I have mold in stored buds [pics from microscope]

damn... I'm scared now.. its been less than 24 hours since I consumed.. and maybe its been moldy a little before I noticed, so perhaps I've been smoking this for 2 to 3 days.. when can I assume I'm going to be fine? (nothing unusual as of now, except that after smoking I found the mold smell stuck in my nose for several hours). Haven't smoked since.

Also will the spores from the infected buds (now disposed off) pose danger to a plant in flowering?
I've smoked moldy mex brick weed back in the day. So far I'm still alive.

look into cold drying if your having problems, i live in the uk and drying is a problem if you dont have the best of conditions, i had to dry at less then room temps last year and it took 3 monthes for my bud to dry properly, but it preserved the smell and flavour profile butifuly

Tf would you even think smoking that is ok lmao, have you never seen even half decent weed? Throw it away, get your basics down, if that was outdoor pick a strain more suited to your climate, and fix your drying environment. if that was indoor jfc I honestly don’t how you could fuck it up that bad, but go read a basic grow guide and get your shit together before starting back up.

You should always dry at below room temp, 60f(15.5c) and 60%rh is optimal, takes 2 weeks give or take(usually give) a few days

Can it get moldy at 64rh?
64rh is fine if you look at ideal rh%/temps on here. Some people do a higher rh just to slow the drying process to around 8-14ish days when their temps might not be ideal. I only mentioned it because the tip of the cola had mold while the other areas didn't. That same area where the mold growth was at, was 64%RH. It's very difficult for me to break lower than 74-75f temps without some type of portable AC(which I don't have (I have central air on because it's cold outside(40-45F) and I'm growing in the same room my computer is in)). People cure weed @ 50s-62% and probably the majority might even stay constant @ 62% since there's humidity packs made for that particular humidity %. So if 64% was too much then there would be constant issues I'm sure about 62% being too high and causing spores.

I had no air circulation though(like a fan). All I did was burp the cardboard box a few times a day. It also could have been on during chop, but I didn't notice it. So it was probably in the bud and made itself more visible when that 8th day of drying hit. It wasn't that big, but big enough to notice when I started trimming. That's another noob mistake on my end. I didn't inspect the entire plant all that much and just hung it in the drying box. That could have easily spread to other areas on the plant. So it might even have been a good thing I didn't have air circulation for that particular situation.

Next time I'm going to use a fan to help circulate the air though. I only did it that way because the air in the room where it was drying was around 2deg higher than what was inside the box and the box helped humidity much better (room temps = 41-45%RH and 74-78F. Not having the air circulating means higher humidities may linger around the buds and you want to help push that air around. It might be something to inspect while drying as to stave any potential for mold to grow if it does arise. I'm still learning, but each grow I do makes me feel dumber.

That's pretty harsh man..... :(

Not any set in stone rules for drying , environment dictates what temps and humidity needs to be, and for me that changes from summer to winter.

It's always a good practice to crack open a bud and scope the inside, any "hair" or "fuzz" is mold, there is nothing that looks like that inside a normal bud. A rather large percentage of all weed consumed on a daily basis is moldy-you'll be surprised if you start scoping everything.
Quoted for the truth. It’s abit embarrassing but I’ve found some mold “dust poofs” when I crack open an occasional bud. Now I always crack them open under bright light and inspect before I smoke. granted this was with only one strain that I’ve noticed…. It was definitely there.

pro tip keep hella fans on your canopy and have a good extraction fan to remove that humidity.

That sure is some nasty looking weed. In fact it's just plain scary.

I remember back in the 80's there were people that purposely molded their weed claiming it made it better. I wasn't one of them and I never smoked any either. It sounded disgusting then and it sounds disgusting now.

harsh but true, dry how you want but there’s a right way and a wrong way. Optimal drying conditions are 60%rh and 60f(15.6c) you can dry in suboptimal conditions but you’re going to lose out on quality. I’d rather run the ac, humidifier and dehumidifier than just hang it and hope for the best.

Truth isn't a dish best served cold, Coming at a fellow member under the newbie sub section like that is a dick move and responses like that from members like you are the main reason new members never come back, Maybe try decaf next time .

As for optimal drying conditions, 60f is on the lower end of good temps, it ranges from 60-75f . Humidity is from 55% to 60% . So once again.... there isn't some exact number that creates wonderbud, there is a range of rh and temperature ... and even if the OP had the drying temp and RH in the optimal range does not mean he wouldn't get mold had it already gotten a foothold during growing.

I agree with you that they should do a little research before next run as it'd save this from happening again , Maybe ...

Yeah, or people could not be such pricks..... That might work too, But I forgot that every keyboard warrior here is a master grower and has been since mommy shit them out of her hole. This place used to be about knowledge, damn sure aint anymore SMH

I still haven't found out if they were trying to cure that weed. I asked but didn't get an answer. Wet weed in jars=mold.
