hi, thanks, any tips on how often to feed. or how i twll when they need feeding
:leaf::leaf:
I feed every watering which is usually every 3 days in my 2 gal pot. Just try to remember the weight of your pot when it's just about dry, then water it when it reaches that point.
You don't want the coco completely dry out, and start off your nutes at 1/4 strength, and gradually work your way up.
Try a bit less nutes than you fed last time, and flush every few weeks to get rid of any salt build ups.
I just moved to coco myself, and I love it.

Oh, and make sure you are getting about 20% run off each feed.:joint:

20% run?? does this mean what doesn't get soaked up and drains out into the saucer? also can you feed from the bottom?

Thanks

Yes that's what I mean by run off. I've been reading a bit and noticed lots of people bottom feeding, so you should have no problems there.

Thanks for the help, ho long have you been growing, and what do you average per plant using canna?

cheers

I just started with coco, and I'm using Advanced Nutrients for nutes. Still same idea though.
I got over 2 ounces off my first plant just a couple months ago with cfl's and a crappy soiless mix.

Well I'm using canna coco and following the canna guide strictly, so if I get 2/3 off each I will be happy, I'll let you know, apex 8weeks left, just started flower on sat

Good luck! I hope they get fat for you:)
I have a couple that are 12/12 from seed that will be ready in 8 weeks too. I also have a couple seedlings that are just starting to veg under 18/6.

My nutrient calculator is pretty well the same thing, but for my tank/res size i use what size jug my nutrients/water are in.
I use 2 litre jugs so I choose a 2 litre res. It takes about 4 litres to get good run off from my 2 gallon pot. Im in 100% coco

whats up guys? I love the canna line! I use the whole thing. Shout outs to jberry because this thread is the reason i even made an account haha. seeing as this thread was started about 3 years ago im only on page 30 so forgive me if youve already answered this, but all the post ive seen it seems like everyone is using a rez? I dont have the space for one so i hand water all my plants. How does this change the nute dosage? On the canna website where you can create your own feeding schedule you have to insert the information for the size of your rez, so would i just switch this number with the size of the bucket i mix my solution in? I make about 4 gallons of solution at a time so would my "reservoir" be 4 gallons then? Also another thing i havent seen addressed is the fact that I have well water, since its not regulated by companies it doesnt have any chlorine in it or flouride, it test around 6.5-7 pH, is this ok to use?

hiya m8, im in the same position, i hand feed and only use a ten litre bucket for feed. from what i have read the ph should be around 5.5 - 6.2, i hope i am right but would check elsewhere before changing, im new to this and its my first grow, only have 2 little beauties but coming along quite nicely i think, the leaves have curled under on the ends and i beleive this is from over watering, i have fed today as its been 3 days and the soil felt really dry. they are in 18 litre buckets so 2 gallon, how often do you feed and what size buckets you using?:leaf:

yeah man i really dont know. I can use some advice too, i only have read about people using reservoirs and never hand feeding. Ive been using a 5 gallon bucket to mix up 4 gallons of nute solution. I also use smart pots instead of plastic pots so my coco dries faster. I just go by the minimum dosage on the bottle, but im a novice so I have no idea if im doing it right. If anyone can give some insight please do.

I hand feed too. I just feel more connected to my plants when i do. On the canna website, just change the tank size to whatever size your actually hand feeding with. I mix mine up per gallon.

what up guys...so i have 4 pretty big mommas in pure canna coco. they have been showing some magnesium deficiency signs...maybe some ph trouble also. when i do a slurry test of the coco i am ending up with 6.4 to 6.5 ph and also only .350 ec. maybe i am just underfeeding in general? been only watering them once a day and by lights on they are getting pretty dry. they are in 3 gallon smart pots so they dry out faster than in regular pots. i am setting up a dripper system to feed them 3 times a day.

i was wondering how much calmag you guys use? do you always use the same amount or does the amount depend on the size of the plant (like for big moms)? do you use different amounts for veg and flower? which brand of calmag do you think works best with canna coco and nutes? i'm using ro water which starts at .02 ec and i am adding calmag up to .4 ec. i was using gh calimagic but i am now using botanicare calmag +. the canna guide says that in their example they used tap water with an ec of .4, so lately i've been sticking to that but am still seeing some mag def signs. i am adding protekt til about .42 ec. then i add 8 mls of a and b and a little rhizo and cannazyme sometimes and that can put me up to 1.6 ec. and that number seems kind of high to me but not too bad...but if i up the a and b to say 10 to 12 mls then i'm getting into levels of 2.0 ec on my moms which sounds really high...would that be too much?

am i better off just going with 1.6 total ec and feeding 3 times a day or should i go higher with it?

i recently gained access to canna coco and rhyzo plus there a and b nutes
im totally new to this and dont know how to begin.
ive been growing in soilless mix since 09 and would like to see what growing with coco can bring.
anything and everything will be a great help..thanks guys and gals
