Am I missing something here? I keep seeing people claim that Canna is way over priced...but other then Boost and maybe rhizotonic, I dont see it. I see people claiming H&G is a cheaper version, but they are similarly priced if not more expensive. Someone posted some generic brand that is also just as expensive.

Anyways I have used Canna in past grows with coco and loved it. A friend talked me into trying Botanicares CNS17. But I will be switching back now. It wasn't terrible and it was cheaper, but I have had more problems with it then I had with Canna. It could be a learning curve thing, but that was the selling point that CNS17 was a foolproof system and that is why I gave it a shot.

Yup... This is why I have no plants to switch.

If it aint broke dont fix it. The ONLY Canna thing i think is overpriced is the boost. Read the last 10 pages or so of this thread for an alternative (posted by me)

My alternative is 2 part, about $65 for 4L of 1 and $55 for 1L of the other. Which will be about the right sizes to buy. So for about $110 you get 5L of homemade boost. Whereas the Canna Boost is seriously $500 for 5L. It's so pricy I cant even comment on if it is worth it or not because I am not willing to pony up that much extra $ for it so I have never used it.

RO Trinity? 25mls each of what to how much water? Liquid budswell, or do you use the dry stuff and mix up your own? I've been lookin for something to help make them reek even more.

coco is inert, let it stay slightly saturated, dont let it dry out ever

watering more, frequency not amount, and with less PPM's will yield better results with coco, also use 2ml/g of rhizo when not transplanting

Want a carefree way to run that canna coco? Put it in a hempy bucket (1/2" hole in the side 2 " from the bottom. Put perlite in the the bottom 2" of the bucket and fill the rest up with coco. And wah-lah. You can't over-water and you get longer times in between watering. Use nutes every feeding with RO water (no need to test pH either). Canna Coco A&B nutes or Lucas formula work best. You will be amazed at the yeild you get without constant maintenance. You probably won't go back to any other method.

The 2" perlite layer at the bottom forms a reservoir...the hole in the side limits the reservoir depth. The coco wicks up the liquid nice and slow and hands it off to the roots with just the right air mixture. When the bucket gets light you water till you get run-off out the side hole again. (BTW, there are no holes in the bottom for drainage). This is a form of "passive hydro". Some people use perlite/vermiculite and other mediums but coco is guaranteed a killer medium with this method. Search "hempy" here on RIU or Google. It's making a big come-back from days of old. In respect for the coco gods lurking here, I'm simply mentioning it to you as an easy way to step into coco, not trying to say it's better than other coco methods.

25mls in a 5gallon bucket or 5mls a gallon, and ya i do a last week flush with budswell 15ml/g. then 10. then 5 then 0

seems to harden the buds and give them some extrastink

Hey I just got a 60L bag of Mapito grow medium.....a mixture of rock-wool chunks and polyurethane pieces (couch cushion foam).... it supposedly has a good rep in Holland...not a lot of info out there except how to prep it and with what pH and EC. What Canna products would you throw at this medium in a drain to waste (AKA hempy bucket) method? I love Canna coco and have some nice grows to show for it but can't resist turning on the girls to some "strange".

Use Soft if you have RO or Hard if you use tap water.

As the substrates used in run-to-waste systems are mostly inert (They don’t add or take nutrient elements from the nutrient solution) all the nutrients have to be in the nutrient solution. i find the pk week to be hot already w/o adding more stuff. Also the BudXL is supposed to be used only the last half of bloom according to H&G. Ex: a 8 week strain gets budxl the last 4 weeks. a 10 week strain gets budxl the last 5 weeks. a 12 week strain gets budxl the last 6 weeks.

From my experience the PK week is less than halfway through bloom. Therefore the bud xl wouldnt even be called for yet at that point on the plants life cycle.

I used 20ml, then 15, then 15 though. I did this since they are cut off from the A&B during this last week, ppm is below 500 with 15ml Budswel, 15ml Botanicare Raw, and 20ml Cannazym. Thats what im doing during the last week.

I've been out of the loop for awhile, but what is budswell? Have we come to an agreement that it works as well as bio boost? The last week of flower my girls get 10-15ml ful power, 10 ml hygrozyme. My smell has always been superb but I am curious to see how that budswell stacks up against the boost. thanks for the info canna man
