The Main-Lining Thread

To me thats the risk in investment and I feel like youll be better off time wise if you had those plants in the 2 gallons before sexing. They will be noticeably bigger then in a solo cup and recover faster after the switch from sexing

(But Thats just like my opinion, man View attachment 2485955 ).

Its just base soil that might be thrown away but in the long view of things your trying to find a keeper and youll make back the loss in no time.
Thatguy, I appreciate pheno searching and the risks involved in getting males, however, there is more than one way to skin a cat. I've chosen to go the hydro route, while most main-liners tend to grow organically. By no means am I trolling, but my intent is to show others like myself that you can main-line just fine using a passive hydro setup for instance. You get the same look and feel as soil.

With that said, you can grow a pretty large plant in a solo cup using the hempy method. So, it should've be a problem starting off a main-lined plant using solo cups. Since there is a decent veg period involved, it gives ample time to clone a top and sex while in th solos. Sure, you waste a plug and a solo cup of medium, but atleast you aren't dumping a 2 gal bucket of medium out.

I misinterpreted what you were saying originally... thats my bad lol. I thought you were growing in soil, I guess I just kind of assumed cause most of the talk around here is dirt talk. Thats why I said something lol. I have no beef with hydro, to each his own. The GF and I decided to have a few drinks that night my apologies.

oh no worries, I didn't take offense. I'd like to grow in soil at some point, but for now, I can't have my basement smelling like wet dirt :)

My lst vs mainlining with master kush. Lst is winning by far. Filling out more and bigger buds, faster veg. Its a pure indica though. Imo main lining only works good with 60/40 or 50/50 indica dom hybrids. 80/20 ones or more would do.better with lst. My sativa dom hindu skunk likes lst more too. Maybe its just strains that have a hindu kush lineage thats not good for main lining. My romulan bagseed in veg. Looks like it would do very well at main lining. Maybe thats why the tga ones come out best. They all have romulan in their lineage.

Also with lst I am using tomato rings / cages to open up plant like main liners.
what it ussally comes down to is how fast and vigorous a strain can veg....i have come to a similar conclusion.....full-on indicas, kushes, and strains with real short internodes and other slow vegging strains do not respond well, and do just as well or better with traditional LST methods....Frankfast, your DP may not do well with ML'ing...but Timewreck is an excellent candidate.....now there are exceptions...but the main thing is the speed at which the strain will veg.

Update on my 8-headed AOS. She's at flower day 45, and swelling/stacking nicely. The stem rub aroma is particularly fruity, but the general aroma of rotten fruit. And she's getting particularly frosty.

I'm using 3, 4-pin 2g11 55W fluorescent's. 2 6500k and 1 2700k. Thinking I might bump it up to 4 since they do not run hot at all.
