Well, since this thread seems to be still carrying on I might as well contribute!

This is my Space Bomb # 2 pheno.

Thanks for checking it out tusseltussel! The Space bomb seems to take to ML real well, you should totally give it a whirl! DUB

My first go at ML :-) start 12/12 tomorrow.
Two four headers and the other five are 8 bangers.
I also have eight 8 headers in a vert cab ready to flower. They will be scrogged vert MLs, will see how that turns out.
All plants are in SS, I put hydroton (leftover from my dwc days) on the soil surface kinda like a mulch of sorts, anywho, never did that before... I already see the benefits, looks nice too.

i thought about putting clay pebbles on top of the soil, so the soil wont dry up by the heat. is it better?

Yeah it'll help keep moisture in from evaporation keeping the soil from getting hard and crusty,,, also slows down water thus keeping splashing down and compaction of soil. Nice even soaking across the surface.

Thanks.
Running crosses I made last year, for fun, got some male spacebomb genes in there. Also running a tester "blue pit" from Breeders Boutique.
I got the vert scrogs built today so I'll post a pic of those MLs tonight,,, its looking pretty cool if I must say so myself :-D

Edit: here is the vert side. 12/12 starts tonight :-)

This one shows exactly what Im going for. :-)

WHODAT- Is one of your Space Bomb crosses right in the middle of your normal mainlined setup? just guessing... :D

Hey nugbuckets, youve really got a nice technique there, looks really good. Was wondering though if youve done any calculations as to how much more yield you get through this and taking into considerations how much longer the grow takes to finish due to a longer vegging period.
Sort of like, you can do a SCROG in x amount of time and yield x amount and then compare it to your method which takes y amount of time and yields y amount in the same space. Would it yield more grams per day (f.e. 300g yield with overall grow time of 90 days=3,33g per day of growing) or less since it takes longer to grow?

The Nugbuckets formula:

  • Slightly longer growing time
  • Less trim time
  • All big colas (no larf)

His results speak for themselves.

Another week, another week closer to chop. Flower day 55, packing on the weight, trych's starting to go cloudy. Starting to smell like cherry soda.

Here is some mainlined chernobyl...I let it get a bit tall but I have the room....10 gals, like a 60 day veg...can't wait so see the flowers....only three days in....

Check out the crystals from last batch....not kief but literally a pile of crystals after grinding that looked like coke!!! I kept moms of all 5 girls but this one is the best...finishes in 7 weeks and more of an indica structure than all the others...the others are sativa bushes but look at this one! C6 baby!

I really like this "main lining" technique so far.. not only is this subbed but im making it a bookmark :D

The only thing I don't like is the constant chopping of new growth :( such a waste of energy.. Does the growth between where the first node splits ever stop growing? Otherwise it makes it seem difficult to justify the increased veg time (although I guess it could be justified for separate veg/flower rooms since veg takes so much longer but then the same issues are still present).

Actually having said that the only thing that strikes me about this technique is how the branches mold together as one... and the initial pictures make it difficult to see how its done properly.

edit: Ok so maybe they dont "mold" together he just chopped off the feeders for no reason, more wasted plant matter... what is actually the point of this?? You would probably get better results just constantly topping as thats prettymuch what it looks like anyway.

....with this beautiful Ace of Spades, i built a foundation to support 8 long equal colas, none discriminated by the root mass........at first, a node is left below the "hub" to produce two perfect clones....after they are removed, the two mains are pruned for four and bonded to the trunk.....

shoulden't it be "a node is completely removed below the "hub" for some reason"?? He planted that whole thing he chopped off right?

he means that when he tops for 2, he leaves the main leaders (top node), and clone leaders (node under that). later, after it recovers and shows growth, he removes clone leaders and.... plants them as clones. from there he works with only the 2 leaders of the main stem (splitting to 4, and eventually 8 ).

no one said this was a fast method. but I'd say its one of the few methods around that let you grow plants shorter than 2 feet from soil and pull more than 4 oz each off them. Yes, scrog can achieve this, but ever try watering 4x scrog plants per chamber? turns into a nightmare. mainlined plants are still mobile and thats part of the point. what do you mean by feeders? or Mold together? by keeping his plants smaller than one normally would, he maximizes the performance of his lights. I think the Original AOS pulled something like six zips. 48 zips to 1200 watts aint a bad score (more than a g per watt)
