people didnt kill each other for no reason, it was conquest

It's all new to him.

War is inevitable. You can deny human nature, but it cannot be ignored. Just ask England in 1941.

Everyone WISHES there weren't war, but most of us are realists in the end, except for a small segment of the truly naive.

The Iraq war will go down as one of the most successful wars the USA has ever engaged in. It was a success..... at least till now.

so how was it successful?

its only successful because that is what they are going to put in the news and in the history books

even though its not true... our future generations will think we accomplished something when really it was a waste of humanity

There is an inherent weakness in your position.

The Iraqi ppl, who had all of the damage done to THEM....not YOU, don't agree with YOU. They are GLAD we did what we did. That leaves you out in the cold.

We freed 50 MILLION ppl son. We rid that entire region from a maniac who from the very start had the ability to avert BOTH wars against him.

As soon as the Iraqi ppl could try Saddam and hang him....they did. That is what, in the end, you are defending....Saddam.

P.S. You make it sound as if we inflicted heavy casualties upon the civilian population. Nothing could be further from the truth. The enemy you defend did those terrible deeds, not us.

yes let alone the fact that millions of Iraqis were already dying under saddam because of the sanctions, we freed them for the rest of thier days if they want. Now it is up to them to keep the peace. saddam was allowing zarqawi and his terrorist group to operate in Iraq. Zarqawi was the leader of al queda in Iraq.

no dount he got that was comming, and as a bonus we got to free iraq and make it into a thriving nation. business is boom ing over there now. salaries have gone up more the 10 fold.

who would of though dictatorship was not good for economies,

we saved them from another 50 years of rule by saddams barberic sons.

i would piss on thier graves if I could. and so would 95% of Iraqis

cracker your putting words in my mouth

i never once defended saddam

the man was insane, and deserved what he got (just wish that cameraman could hold the damn thing still"

but my point is, is saddam still there? oh he is dead? for a long time now? hmmmmmm

why the fuck are we still there then?

as for heavy civillian casualties, you would be very suprised just how much veteran soldiers in combat care so little of human life

stories from the returning vets themselves, i remember on in particular where the marine said they told a man he was free to drive away, and they used his car as target practice....

my point is saddam is gone, a "democracy" is in place

why are we still there

bring the TROOPS HOME, they have had enough, and deserve to come home to their families and loved ones, are you saying you dont want them to be with the people they love?

a little side note for big P

did you know that Al CIAda has that nickname because they were created by the CIA?

did you also know that al qaida's direct translation means "the database"

Yes, out of touch with 50 million Iraqis. I'm not surprised.

You guys just can't admit what the Iraqi ppl feel and say.... it was a success, and a wonder militarily.... a true wonder. They are the ones whose say counts...not yours.

Political victory, and a military victory all rolled up into one. Al queda handed their hats and Saddam deposed and hung.

Mission accomplished......if Obama doesn't screw up the victory.

"Mission accomplished" - that phrase rings a bell. Hmmm.....

And since when do you state as fact that 50 million Iraqi's are praising Bush for 'liberating' them? Do you have written statements? I know of two Marines (granted, it's only two) who served in Iraq (only one was engaged in battle) and they would evidence the opposite. They said that 1 or 2 out of 10 generally seemed please by their presence. The general consensus seemed to be that, although conditions were bad under Sadaam, they were worse in a war-torn condition. Their infrastructure was so largely destroyed that most still don't have basic necessities. That infrastructure existed under Sadaam. And it wasn't Al Qaeda's weapons that obliterated the infrastructure.

And I love your conditional statement - "Mission accomplished (past tense)...if Obama doesn't screw up the victory (key word)". Two problems: (1) victory was never achieved and (2) you automatically place any future blame and trace every other possible conclusion other than the assumed victory squarely to the soldier of someone who's been president for under a year. WOW!

I take the elections and the REAFFIRMATION of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki in those elections of the approval. Just like you take Obama victory to mean his approval. Or do you only walk around with one shoe on?

http://www.washingtontimes.com/Iraqi leader may ask U.S. to prolong stay

Says needs will be reassessed in 2011

| Friday, July 24, 2009
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said for the first time Thursday that Iraq may ask U.S. troops to stay in his country beyond a previously agreed 2011 deadline for withdrawal.
While Iraqi and American military figures have spoken privately about a longer-term presence in part to maintain U.S. military equipment ordered by Iraq, the Iraqi prime minister has not previously acknowledged this publicly. When U.S. combat troops exited Iraqi cities last month under the terms of a Status of Forces Agreement, Mr. al-Maliki declared a national holiday to celebrate the milestone toward full Iraqi sovereignty.

Yah, sounds like they hate us..... Sounds like a problem for cut and run Obama.

Yes, it is I who walks around in one shoe.

Remember your comments about presidents being responsible for every action under their term? But when pressed about Bush's responsibility for 9/11, you completely recanted and called the other guy illogical and hypocritical. Remember that?
