I don't get it.
The cheapest Super Bowl ticket costs $7,500 this year
If you want to see Christian McCaffrey face off against Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl in Las Vegas on Sunday and don’t yet have a ticket, it’ll cost you. The cheapest seat in Allegiant Stadium is going for $7,439 just hours before kickoff.

The highly anticipated Kansas City Chiefs versus San Francisco 49ers game is expected to draw record eyes on television between rising interest in football and the attendance of pop superstar Taylor Swift getting her fans involved.

But ticket prices have dropped in recent weeks, with the bottom prices hovering close to $10,000 in mid-January for nosebleed seats. Many fans have taken to Vegas to party but not attend the game, choosing instead to partake in the city’s legendary nightlife or watch the big game in any number of casinos.

Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. ET, with the tilt set to decide whether the 49ers’s “Mr. Irrelevant” quarterback Brock Purdy can stop Mahomes from his third Super Bowl title in five years.

The game will also be star-studded with performers, with Usher headlining the halftime show. Post Malone and Reba McEntire will also make appearances in the pregame festivities.

10-3 for SF at the end of the 2nd quarter and I only know that as my step-daughter is watching the game and I went in the kitchen to make a pot of coffee. Like hockey I've never watched a whole game on TV tho used to go to see the Lions play in Vancouver once in a while when I was in boy scouts and we got tickets for 50¢ for the bleachers at the end zone. My folks got season's tickets so drove us there. I jsut ran around getting into mischief the whole game and didn't really watch them. Only went to a hockey game once with my dad when I was about 27 and his buddy was sick so he had a spare ticket. Surprised the hell out of him when he asked if I wanted to go and I said yes but I'd drive there and he'd drive back because I'd be sucking back some brewskies at the game. After the 3rd beer I actually had fun but of course the Canucks lost to Washington at the only game I ever attended. The old man had a couple double rum and cokes when we go home. Bad year for the Canucks. lol

I walked in to see what the score finished at and there was 4:32 left on the clock in OT so I stood there and watched KC win with 3 sec left on the clock.

Got to see the best part of the game and only used 5 min of my life to do it. :)

Well won!

Wasn’t there talk yesterday about a very odd public statement by a senator about a serious national security issue? I’m not finding where it was.

(from NPR) it might have to do with this.

Russia is developing a space-based nuclear capability that could be used to target satellites, according to a source familiar with the matter. National security adviser Jake Sullivan is expected to meet with House leaders today, though he did not confirm the briefing's topic.

  • NPR's Geoff Brumfiel says it's notable the U.S. called the device a "nuclear capability" and not a bomb. The international Outer Space Treaty bans states from placing in the Earth's orbit "any objects carrying nuclear weapons or any other kinds of weapons of mass destruction." Though the U.S. has accused Russia of breaking other treaties, violating this one would "run a lot of risks," Brumfiel says.

I still don't have a cell phone.
I got one but usually turned off and normally don't take it with me. Makes people nerves that I don’t hook up to my phone, like when I'm waiting for my turn at the barbershop or dentist, as if they feel an urge to tell me “sir, you can grab your phone, it’s going to take a while“. Only people I tend to make eye contact with in those situation are toddlers and little newborns who look at me like why is that strange old man the only one not watching a small screen. They removed all the magazines too so yeah, I'm mindful af.
