I'm not attempting to run anybody off. But I would submit that perhaps I am "good people" as well, and that maybe, just maybe, I didn't deserve to be spoken to like that. I'm not sure how someone who drops into a thread to make fun of the poster for the way she has chosen to grow is helpful, but if Password has something constructive to say, I'm happy to listen.

well last night I pulled some clones from a buddy's plant he has growin outside. He thinks it's trainwreck...I think he is wrong. it's a seed he got a few years back so it's really just a guess on his part...either way it's female. I pulled two clones and brought them home. I was kinda drunk last night when I got home so I didnt do the best job of taking care of them right away. I re-cut them underwater and threw them in a cup with some water and a little root stimulator then just tossed them in next to my other girls...kinda shaded. anyway I have them under some four foot fluoros this morning and got them in a coffee cup so the roots are shaded. we shall see how they do. I am gonna start germing the connies in about an hour. I can't wait to get them into soil. I was thinking about going hydro with a few of the connies but decided to do a dirt run with em first since I am familiar with that. kind of ensures a harvest and some seeds...then next run I will go DWC. as for now here is a pic of the new clones. oh happy day ...I will be back later with pics for documenting the connie grow.

Yay clones! Why don't you believe him about the strain?

It's pouring down rain here as usual, and my plants are getting beat to shit as usual. I'm beginning to doubt they'll ever have a chance to dry out. And the fact that the one had finally recovered so well from the squirrel attack and now it has to recover AGAIN just breaks my heart. The two largest plants are doing well, vegging right along -- I tie them down again every few days. Do you think the ones that just survived the second squirrel holocaust have a chance?

they may...throw up some pics of em. I am so glad I dont have to deal with squirrels....and rain. so okay littlebat. you are handy....you should make a little chicken wire surround for them with a roof to keep all that rain off of them. would that be possible. or would that draw to much attention?

Yeah, I have to do something. I've been thinking of ways to do it. They're really waterlogged. I'm still scheming. Tomorrow I'll be in the part of town where the Home Depot is so I can pick up the materials.

And YAY Hydrotech, that's so awesome, go little Connies go!! What kind of soil are you using? I'm psyched to have been able to share the seeds and that all of you are excited about this grow. :)

You need to do a chickenwire tent over them, SOMETHING that is small enough to keep those little fuckers OUT.
Not sure where you got $600, given that I said I paid $300 plus $150 shipping. Also, did you miss all the comments where I said I felt, in retrospect, that I could do it better myself and that it wasn't worth the money? Apparently so, yeah. This has nothing to do with any stimulus checks (which I didn't get, incidentally), but rather to do with my wanting something compact and premade that someone else would carry up the four flights of stairs to my apartment. But at least my buying my cab gave you an opportunity to make a newbie feel stupid, huh? Hope that was fun for you.
I don't think he meant anything like that by what he said, lb. We are a site of stoners, after all. (Probably got you mixed up with someone else, I know a lot of people have been talking about their stim checks.) I just know that I've never seen him take the piss with anyone, so I don't see why he'd choose you to start now. I know I piss people off without meaning to all the time, so I try to give the benefit of the doubt.

And can I say HOLY FUCKING SHIT! 4 flights of stairs?? JESUS GOD. You must have buns and thighs of STEEL.
I just found that three of my outdoor plants got chewed down to stalks by the squirrels last night. The dirt was all dug up around them and flung out all over the place. One of them was a plant that they had already chewed the top off of, and it had recovered and gotten two healthy tops, and today it has no leaves and is just a bitten-off stalk. The other two have a few scraggly half-leaves left. It rained last night and washed off the cayenne pepper, and they went nuts and attacked.

I doubt these three survive again. I doubt they have time to recover all the leaves they'd vegged if they do. I'm just sick. If the things aren't covered in pepper at all times they'll take the slightest opportunity to eat them. Every other plant on my terrace is untouched. I FUCKING HATE SQUIRRELS!!!!!!!!
I, too, detest their squirrely goodness, despite Foamy's entertainment value. A squirrel is, in truth, a true piece of vermin, and my life does well without them. I saw one in the manzanita a few weeks ago, but both the cats and at least one dog goes that route on a regular basis, so... still, they carry the fleas that carry plague, so that's one really good reason to kill on sight. :| They smell really weird, too, not a good smell or even a ho-hum, it's a BAD smell. Dogs won't eat 'em, either (least not that I've seen, but they'll eat other stuff). :x nasty.

It's a DAMN good thing you have that cabinet, isn't it? I'm waiting for the babies to get hit with pests, I've still got something despite my frequent spraying. At least the babies haven't been hit, but I don't know why.

What's crazy is that I have two cats and my neighbor has one, and there's usually at least one of them out on the terrace at any given time. The squirrels don't give a shit. They're totally unafraid. My big black cat is an evil panther who will kill anything that crosses his path -- he's brought me dead birds on a couple of occasions. A couple of weeks ago I woke up, stepped out of bed, and missed putting my foot down on a mangled bird by about an inch. There were feathers all over the place, including all over the cat. You'd think the squirrels might be afraid of the terrace where the big black thing four times their size prowls around in the middle of the night, but nope, they're happy to stop right on by and chow down on my plants.

I do have buns & thighs of steel, actually. Carry your laundry and groceries up and down four flights of stairs a few times a week for five years and that'll happen!! :)

littlebat.....your PM box is full.
I'm not sure why given that there's nothing in it! I emptied it a couple of days ago.

I decided to give the papayas one last attempt -- scuffed 'em with sandpaper and now they're in a paper towel soaked with Superthrive water. I'm determined to get at least one of them to crack!! I've tried soaking in water, germing in paper towels and rockwool in both darkness and light, and now this...dammit I will make it happen!!! Also put some more Connies in a paper towel to try to get at least a couple more out of the season. Oh, and I put a couple straight into small pots of soil too. Plants in cab are doing well but stretching a lot; I think I'm going to stack some books under the reservoir so it's closer to the light and see if that helps.

Yes, move them closer to the light. Also, check your sent-box as well, all messages count towards the total. I would have replied to you the other night but could not due to your being full. I'm full, too, but not with the same thing.

How'd ya like my macro shot of the emerging seeding? A friend told me to take off the lens and flip it around for major macro. It freakin' works! But you have like ZERO depth of field, so it will only focus on that which is the exact same distance from the lens. :D

Yes, it was the sent box! I didn't know you could only have 50 messages total. But it's all empty now and you should be able to reach me. :)

I love your macro, Seamaiden -- I need a new digital camera desperately! Mine is old and gives horrible redeye. Outdoors it does okay though.

Okay, must stack books under reservoir! I am totally transfixed by my cab. I have to go get some mylar for it in a bit!

Here are some pics of my plants today -- you can see one of the ones that got attacked by squirrels next to one that didn't (pic 2.) The first pic is the healthiest May 1 plant and the 4th is the healthiest from May 15. I think one of the others has had about all it can take, after two major squirrel attacks, but it's still getting a couple of little leaves at the nodes so I'm going to let it keep growing and see what happens. Also you can see how tall the one is in the cab! My closeup sucks on my camera, sorry!

Pics 1 and 2 are in 3-gallon containers. Pic 4 is in a random tall planter that I just happened to have, probably about 2 gallons.

Also, I got my Mystery Weed seeds from Seamaiden and some lovely Afghani/Master Kush (from Hydrotech, yes?) in the mail today! I put three of each in wet paper towels already. I also propped up my reservoir on books so the plants would be closer to the light. I grabbed a random stack off my bookshelf and then realized that amongst the things holding up my plants were both my college degrees, in their original cardboard envelopes!! I'm so glad they finally came to some use! :D

Oh, and Spark1 is going to be growing with us now too!
