The Great Pheno Hunt - Vertical Grow

I should update this. I ended up harvesting a little over 2 elbows. Quite disappointing, but I set myself up for failure by trying to do too much at once. I also changed it up and got rid of my shelves for this next round. Not running as many varieties so I can get away with it. Running them mostly in #3 pots mostly the same except I switched over to a GH imitation line + some GH additives.

Dumped Liquid Karma as it's too watered down (replaced with GH's version). The Dyna Grow isn't flexible enough for all varieties. Some of my plants loved it. I've also just been filling up my 2 gallon watering can and doing individual mixes based on the plants general needs. I have a sativa mix and an indica mix. Not much differentl really except I cut out the N more quickly with the sativas and pull back the ppm a bit. Basically just GH recipe. It's actually called HOG (High Output Gardening I think), it's a Canadian knock off that costs less up here.

Working well. I'll have some pictures up tomorrow probably. I know for a fact I am going to be doing significantly better this run. How much better? Well, I'm getting pretty excited when I look at the plants and try to guesstimate weights.

Obviously I am not good at keeping this updated.

And I don't think I'll ever be finished the hunt. Maybe once I find a plant that flowers in 6 weeks, has a pure Tom Hill's Haze acid pheno high and yields truck loads.

If there was a way to get the plant pots off the shelves, (I personally think there is too much shade from the rack, and get a couple of schedule 40 6" pipes, cut angled holes in then and shove the pots in. It will give you maximum exposure to lighting and if your watering drain to waste, the watse comes right out the bottom of the tube into a bucket or res. I use a small submersible pump on a switch to empty mine, it works well. Just an idea to throw at you.

Hi OGEvil Genius

Can you please clear out some messages in your inbox? I can't reply to your PM's until you do. Cheers.

Hi OGevilgenius: Here's some iranian haze. Not to happy as you can tell. The screens are 3 feet high and this picture was taken middle of august! The other picture is a swamp grow gone bad thanks to an elk who kept coming in there and squishing the screens I was told.

I have noticed one plant of mine never does well anymore.. i thought it had to do with aging.. maybe it was my switch to dyna gro? I wonder?

Most if not all of my plants LOVE dyna gro. Maybe I should try some other nutes with this plant?

Hmm..

Which Dyna Gro dis you use again?

I think it's a good idea to try something else. Is it a sativa dom? Which bottle are you using? I know a lot use Foliage. I was using the veg formula which is a little lighter on Nitrogen I think. ANyway my sativa dominants really didn't enjoy it. I think the amount of P was causing some N lockout in some and others simply didn't like the amount of N in the mix. Sativas are pretty finicky though. I am enjoying growing in my dirt mix instead the plants seem to really respond and it's pretty straight forward. Let nature do it's thing, you know?

It was Sativa Dom.. and it was with the Veg formula.
But I am currently growing the same plant right now with the FPro, ProTekt and Cal Mag (coco)..
It does better with the FPro.. but not like it used to..

..I bet the "not like it used to" is just from age.. and the grows with the 7-9-5 was like you said, too much P..

I am gonna be working with C99 and some strong longer flowering sativas... maybe there's hope.

And yes, I'm sure something will be figured out. Hopefully I'll be able to lock something down in seed form.
You were serious!

That's ambitious.. but hey, aim high.

I am working on a lower potency, higher cbd breeding project right now..
Also working with some Mikado.. I've got Mikado pollen on the way..
I think Mikado is going to make an amazing Stud..

I want a Sativa dom, uplifting high, with about 1:1 Cbd:THC.. something about 5%THC:5%CBD..

i know.. sativa dom and 5:5 are sort of counter to each other, but I am looking anyway

do you collect pollen? I started a pollen thread..

I'm only semi serious. I don't expect for that result, but I will work towards it as best as possible.
