The French Cannoli` Hash Thread

Dry sieving will produce the highest quality my friend, it all depends how you do it.
I could put in front of you a dry sieve and a ice water hash made from the same trims and you would have a hard time making the difference.
The yield with water will be better, not the quality.
Cervantes is missing some important point: not enough water, an egg beater will cut the leaves and hardly move the water and ice at the bottom of the bag, especially with a large amount of ice. DO NOT put your trichomes on a cardboard and DO NOT smoke your unpressed trichomes just a day after processing, they will not be dry enough
I've abandoned dry ice method, thank you for the assistance and so glad I found U on Youtube.

I shall watch the instructional vids.

Peace

In answer to machine vs hand processing.
If you can afford to use a machine, you should. Those little washing machine move the water and what is in the water as a mass, it is way gentler than you think. When you will have enough experience working by hand on small quantity of trims, you will be able to switch to a machine and get a comparable if not better quality. It is all in the reading of the trims and of the water, the color of the water will tell you if you are gentle enough. The color and the smell of your water can tell you all you need to know before seeing the trichomes in your bag.
Speaking of machine, I will call Stephanie and Harry this morning to talk washing machine prices.

Frenchy I just had to say that your press technique actually can make some hash better. I have a friend that doesn't have the hash skills down yet. He tried the Rize method with his stuff and it wasn't the best. After pressing it, it really seemed to bring up the quality a little bit. My RiU isn't letting me upload pictures right now it just wont work. I had some pictures to show. But anyway when i can load them I will stop back. Until then here is some pictures of the 3rd Dimension trichomes Ice water bubble I made a few weeks ago. I didn't get much as i didn't have a lot of trim but i would have really liked to press this stuff.PIC_0818.JPGPIC_0817.JPGI read a few pages back on the thread that you will be at Hempfest. I will for sure see you there. I planned on taking some of my Spacebomb/Ace of Spades hash from my two winners to the event.

I just had a talk with Stephanie about the machine and gave her the bad news. They are not aware that you can find their machine at half price since the machine they have are custom made in China. The problem is that they may (most certainly) have only added the name to a model that was already on the market. Technically speaking it make the machine custom.

I think I paid mine $65 a bag, being custom made only for me you will not see them on their site but they should mentioned them somewhere.
I will check the prices for you guys on Monday.
I will also get you a price for the machine special Frenchy, they will have to compete with Ebay or loose you guys, as simple as that.

Hi Frenchy,

Did you get a quote for your preferred bag set from boldtbags? I want to ensure I get exactly what you have and not pay a penny more. Call me frugal but that is why I don't have to borrow money from anyone.

its 240 for the all mesh 160,73,45 micron
Thanks Shawns...

Hi Frenchy...

So I understand this correctly 160 is the "working bag", whereas first ice cold water wash of dried trim filled with trichomes will drain through catching anything over 160 microns, thus the working bag. Then I understand that is set aside, and trichomes from the 73 bag are are collected off the bag screen and bag washed in rubbing alcohol and returned back to collection system whereas only the 73 and 45 are still being used. The second wash drains through 73 bag and the 45, then only separated from 73 bag collection. 73 bag is cleaned and NOT placed back in collection system. Third final wash goes directly in 45 bag. 45 micron trichomes collected from bag screen.

So here is my question with the three washes having produced one 160 micron collection, two 73 micron collections and one 45 collection how are these collectively mixed together? And Why?

I got an email from Stephanie, the machine look similar but the one made for Boltdbag have a different engine, good for commercial use. If you do not want the 220 catch bag that come with the machine it will also lower the price. Super bag by the way
