The French Cannoli` Hash Thread

Mr. Cannoli, have you experienced eating edibles made with your hash? I was just wondering with all the different existing hash styles in the world, could the process in which the hash was done change the outcome of the hashish edible?
Thank you love you

No the hash making process does not change edibles "outcome". The quality will on the other hand. The stomach process THC in a different way than when you smoke, you do not need to do a decarb or to press for that matter if will not be smoking your hash. I eat hash daily to tell the truth, in my coffee in the morning and I use my lowest quality for that.

Hey Frenchy. Whats the difference between your hash and Matt's hash? Just curious because I've been making hash using his method and the two of you make hash totally different ways, could you explain terpines and oxidization? Merci!~

:peace:

What Matt does is not hashish, it's Ice Wax. Hashish is pressed and decarboxylated trichomes. Matt does not press and does not do any decarboxylation. Terpenes or terpenoids is what make smell, doesn't matter the plant source, it is important at the medicinal level and it enhances the THC effect. Oxidation happens mainly during the drying process, in a nutshell it changes the THC in CBD

What do you mean by press to activate? If he doesn't press his stuff, is it not activated? Also, since he doesn't let it oxidize during the drying process does that mean his Ice Wax is higher in THC and lower in CBD? Here is some 73/45 pucks that I didn't press, just shaped lightly with my hands would it of been better if I did something different? When I use your hand press method the smell really becomes alive and it gets darker on the outside got really sticky too. Whats happening here? It smokes smoother..Thanks again, this is all learning for me.

Press 2 Activate means that when you press with heat your trichomes you activate your THC. Yes Matt does not decarboxylate his trichomes because it changes the color. He would be high in THCA and low in THC, the CBD will depends on the strain mainly at that level. I am not sure about Matt having no oxidation, it could be not showing oxidation because of the way he presents it. I have tried his technique but have never worked with him to really compare result with a lab so I cannot say. Our standards of quality are the same, our techniques are different from A to Z.
Press with your hands until you really get the transformation(s) happening to your trichomes. You are breaking the little vegetal envelop that surround/protect the trichomes, you have now a mass of resin instead of separate glands and the whole is stronger than the part. Also when you age your hashish, the resin will slowly "corrode" and assimilate the vegetal membranes, so your hash get cleaner with age. The terpenes are also locked in the mass of resin so will be stronger and will last a very long time. Soon you will have the rest of the video showing my pressing technique, it is more difficult because you have to judge the progress with your eyes only/mainly, so better practice my friend.

Yes I do put hash in my coffee and you better believe that I get the buzz, be careful how much you take the first time. It is for my general daily well being, if you see what I mean.

Frenchy thanks a lot for explaining it, I think I can speak for all of us when I say it is a pleasure to have you on RIU. I will stay tuned, looking forward to the new video.

How long of a window do we have to use the fresh trim, given that it is refrigerated to stay fresh?

That is one nice thing about fresh frozen; while it does get freezerburn etc. I am not in a huge rush to process it as it stays the same (frozen; albiet with the chlorofil issue) until I have some time to spin, or usually until my IWE stash runs low.

I know all of us who grow tend to loathe intensified amounts of work at harvest time. (I try to trim all my flowers myself to maximize both trim yield and quality in addition to flower quality). Is the fresh extraction another chore to add to the list at harvest? I am looking to avoid piling more steps on top of my already labor intensive flower harvest. Do you trim the plants immediately (manicure fresh?), harvest whole and slow dry then manicure later, etc.? Danks for your time and knowledge Frenchy.

I do know what u mean...I use it for the same reason...what a coincidence...ha...so how do I apply the hash to the coffee?...in the grounds and let the water pour thru?....or just throw it in ur mug?

I would just throw it in my mug. Also, make sure to swirl and down the last of the liquid to consume any undissolved hash. Its just a guess tho, I am an herbal tea drinker. Those euro cats put hash in everything; coffee, cigs, food. lol Europeans are ahead of us in so many ways!
