hey tek im replying to your post from earlier, the reason you flowered at 4 weeks was becasue they were already to the top of the hood. mine are literally 5 inches tall, i have not even moved the hood above the lowest notch yet. i think that with time, these plants will be able to be flowered but only until they are about 7 inches. this way they will actually get to be 22 inches. i think i am doing fine, i have taken pix so i will show you that they are doing great. trust me i am not being a bitch i am just saying more examples than i really mean because i am blasted out of my fucking mind. and cannot think shraight. thanks a lot for you help though. ill post pics soon

The plants seem small for how old they are, but maybe its the strain...

You sound like you have a plan so go for it

I was just concerned that the plants would get too big for you if you waited too long...

If you flower at 7 inches I think that sounds good...

Peace

Guyz ...

There's a lot more to cloning than just "chopping off the top of the plant." Do yourselves a big favor and read up on cloning.

I thought cloning was more til i realized it was just taking cuttings and growing from that. I do some gardening, so im not new to it...just new to working with this plant. :) It seems a bit trickier than working with the plants i normally do, thats for certain.

Ok, i killed off the 2 smallest ones. I took the others that had more than one in a pod and transferred one to the open pods. So now I have one plant in each pod. They range from 5-6 inches, except one that is extremely small - not even an inch but still growing. It does not appear that cutting the roots did any harm. I imagine they might have been slowed up by that but they are still reaching for the light. I got the fox farms today so I dumped the water and tabs (that came with the kit) and added that instead.

On the cabinet end, I got mylar and put it in. I'm testing out the HPS to see how hot it'll get and to figure out if I need to vent before I move the plants in there (which I am thinking of doing in about a week - which would make them a month +/- from seed. I got some chains to hang the light, hooks, and a timer (which I set and am setting up to run 12/12).

A couple questions. The thermo is reading 120 but it does not feel even close to that. I am wondering if that mylar is going to amplify the temp THAT much on the plant? If that's the case, I have a week to put that in... Any thoughts?

is there any way you could send pics? are your plants lanky? because 5-6 inches is what i am at. when do you think you are gonna start flowering? and from what i have heard mylar is really good at reflecting light not heat

That looks pretty good to me....

I'd say I wish all the plants in the aerogarden would grown like that

Peace

Shit, if you had 6 plants goin just like that, but a tad bigger, you could grab an ounce off of each one. 6 ounces is not a bad yield for a small grow like you have with the aero garden.

What I really want to see is someone put the machine to good use and order about 10 of them. If you could get these things to produce wholesale, you could have 3 POUNDS every few months, with cloning and mother plants. That's a lot of pot for such a cheap and easy method of growing.

yo check it son, do whatever u want but when u start flowering, get a 1000 watt metal halide light on ur plants, im guessin u will get around a pound from each plant. im just concerned that if u used a metal halide the buds might snap the plant right in half man. my boy used regular soil and got a metal halide light after using flourescents for the veg stage, i weighed out the buds when they were ready to get sold and it was exactly 196 grams

Here's an update and some pics. THe plants in the pic are 5-6 inches each. I nute burned them and cut a bunch of yellowing fans leaves. In hindsight, I shoulda left them. I have one in each pod, for total of 7. I'm going to attempt to make about 4 clones, just for the hell of it. If any of them take, I'll do them in soil alongside the aerogarden, under the HPS. I figure I could fit another 3 in there, along with the aero. Kind of a test for the ones I have on the way...as follows:

Powerplant (pp)BubblegumWhite widowB52

The cabinet definately needs a fan/vent. It got way too hot for good growing (I shut it off at 110). I was thinking I was drill a series of holes in a 6 inch circle, put a gasket around a flange on the outside and just bolt it to the back, then run venting from there, with an inline dubt fan. I'm a little freaked out by f'ing with electricity. Most of the cheaper stuff seems need to be wired by the buyer!

I also 'picked up' a portable fan to put inside to circ the air. And I have this idea about fermenting fruit to generate CO2...but that's another thread at the moment. I've got a ton of bushes so I may as well use them.

TEK...wondering, how often do you add the foxfarm stuff and how much. I read the label, just wondering how you applied that to the aero. Another idea - IF you have open pods - is to do 'air layering'...I know it as layering. Simply, you bend the plant so that you can put a piece into it, DIRECTLY from the plant. Maybe but a branch deep in, bent in half or so. The idea is, that part of the plant will root and become a new separate plant. I've done this with berries, rosemary and some other stuff. It's not hard, just don't know if it would actually work in the aero. You'd probably have to at least bruise the the limb you are pluggin back into the aero, to sort of start the rooting process. With the plants I've messed with, i'd usually nick the branch, bury it and stake it down. Roots grow down, and eventually it becomes its own plant.

Vand.. THEY look great..

You can actually flower NOW..

If it were me.. I would wait 5 more days and then clone then.. SO that they are all the same size... They should not be taller than 4-5 inches when you induce flowering...

LOOKS GREAT!!
