I have something similar to the Aero Garden but the reservior is a lot bigger allowing me to grow bigger plants, and I was wondering what is the best nutrients for my marijuana plants to grow large and healthy. I was thinking about using Advanced Nutrients, but I don't know which nutrients to buy. Could you help me on this? I appreciate it. Thanks

Mine are going good so far. I realized I had an old stand up closet in my garage and moved it up to my attic. I have a 400 HPS light on its way. I am going to hang the light in there and put the plants at the bottom. Its got to allow for a good 4 foot of growth. I also have florescent lights I am hanging from the top inside, which is above that area. I'm thinking I need another areogarden. Here's the idea. Have one going in the closet under HPS, clones growing in the top portion for a new planting and one in my room growing clones under the normal light they provide. I tried uploading pics to here but size was too big, not right...it was a big problem.

Since the closet is in my attic, I can vent it through the vents already there, just by cutting some holes in various parts of the closet itself.

Hey to get your pics smaller......right click on the picture file and click on edit

This will open up the picture in microsoft paint

From here you can go up to Image, and then strecth/skew and type in for strecth....20 horizontal and 20 vertical, then hit ok and save the pic and upload it onto roll it up....

Can't wait to see pics
Goodluck

Here's how they looked after a week. BTW...I let the leggy ones grow and they ended up turning out to be pretty healthy. More pics later...if this one works.

just a comment that i found. in the first week after the plants had sprouted i accidentally broke one of the leaves off of one of my plants. it hasnt grown hardly any taller than it was (about an inch) but it still has the same amount of leave layers as the rest of the plants. it is just super condensed. could this be something that could work to our advantage? i dont know but it is really neat that it still is alive and healthy and just a lot shorter than the others

Ok, I hit a snag. I am pretty sure I have over fertilized. I got a bunch of yellow tipped leaves...consistent with pics I saw (and by my own estimates). I dumped to water twice and put in fresh tap. I have not added any nutes back into that yet. Not all were equally affected. One of the leggy ones seems really healthy now, but the others look in various states of disarray. I lost one little one. When I changed the water, I also trimmed the roots. I do not know what effect that will have, but if that kills them I will let you know.

I am thinking I may recover. I trimmed the yellowed fan leaves and I will change the water again later today. I have some rooting solution, maybe that will help a little, though I don't think I want to add anything for at least a day or two.

I have already order some FF nutes (and mylar for the closet) to use instead of the kit stuff. WOrking on getting the closet prepped for the HPS light. I'll upload a pic later.

REally, I need help with the nute burn. Will they recover? Should I have trimmed? Any help is appreciated.

ok first off from the last pic from what i can tell they look good...

When you strecth /skew the pics next time try 50 instead of 20....cause its too small

anyways about the nute burn...

This seems to be a common problem among us in the begining....

I heard that just the tips of the fingers (about a couple milimeters) being brown is a result of using tap water, but it is not a problem...

I think that the plants will eventually outgrow this strange discoloration because mine have...

Maybe it just happens in the beginning i dont know

But good idea cleaning the resivoir go easy on the nutes (try half strength) after a week of plain water

Theyll be ok.....but why did you cut the roots? hope it doesnt hurt them

Peace
good luck

I can't add anything useful to this thread. I'd just like to say that I'm looking forward to seeing, or knowing rather, the wet and dry weight of a single plant at the end of flower.

Pretty sure as high as they can go with the lighting hood at maximum height....

My biggest one is over 3 feet and I had to resplice the wire to make it longer..

Mine were four weeks old from sprouting up before i started flowering

How are your plants? how old are they now? are you going to flower soon?
I think you should, mine have definitley tripled in size

Well good luck
Get some new pics up

well i have become the master of the aerogarden and i bascially have taken three plants and from the day they were 5 inches tall i have kept them that way. nnow i have three plants that are all five inches tall but about 2 times as thick. they are extremely heathy and bushy as hell, i will post some pics if i ever get un-lazy. btw i want to start flowering next week when they are all about 7 inches or so, maybe wait another 2 weeks

do you have any idea what my yeild will be? i am not trying to be greedy, but i have spent about 150 so far... and i was hoping to at least break even on my grow...an ounce here is about 400 so do you think that at the state i am at i will be able to accomplish this now?

Here is my current idea and what I am gearing up to do. I want to have 2 aerogarden units and my hooked up cabinet (400 HPS - JUST GOT IN YESTERDAY!!) - see a very shitty pic. Basically, it would work like this...

Current aerogarden goes into the cabinet when the plants are big enough. Plants stay in aerogarden, light hood comes off and we go with HPS only. I use the upper part of the cabinet to root the clones (under 3 fluro lights). Once the clones are big enough, the best get transfered to the other aerogarden (that I would need to buy). So, at any given time I would have plants flowering under HPS, clones veging in another aero and clones rooting in their own space.

That's how it's looking so far. I moved the cabinet to a stealthly location, I have access to venting if needed (i'll hook up a fan if and when I need it), got the fluro and HPS lights set up. I have nutes coming (though still using the prepackaged stuff til then) and mylar to line the cabinet. I even got some seeds coming....hindu kush, white rhino, white skunk and AK 48. All seemed to fit my needs...and tastes.

well same for me as of now, i think im just gonna give this first try a go through and if it works well i think im gonna do something similar to what brnpiper is gonna do except i will have one soil pot for a mother and just take clones and put them in one aerogarden and then about a month later i will take clones and put them in the other, so i get 7 small plants about ever 2 months, it should be marvelous

I was thinking about that, but where would you keep the mother? I guess I could stick it right next to the aerogarden and let it catch whatever light it can. That'd probably give it enough light to keep going, slowing down growth, and keeping it hidden as well. I got a great window facing south, but the neighbors would be asking me for some!!! Bastards...

I liked your idea of the SCrog...I caught that in one of the 'bibles' I picked up. My issue with that one is that, by the book, it slows down growth. Personally, I want to smoke sooner. Maybe something to attempt after I've built up a good stash. I did just glance over that, I'm gonna have to see what the upside is again. I definately looked cool in the pics I saw.
