Thanks Tek... I actually have a friend that grows aero, but he uses buckets... Gotta give him a bell... maybe with info' from the two of you I can start my first aero crop.

Merciless... if I were you I'd splice the wires and make more room to grow. Your plants need to be at least 2 1/2 ft tall by the time they finish... 2ft for the cola, the half for the stem. This is my mission on this second crop, we want to grow more bud and less plant. A good idea to keep your plants small is to keep topping them... but seriously, I think asking for 15" is asking too much.

Yea...it's a pretty bad limitation to have to overcome, but I like the challenge of at least trying! The most I can do is fail, and end up having to buy more lighting and/or splice the wiring in the lamp hood.

I think growing from seedlings is the main problem I have (well...that and being a nooooob ) , and once I get a handle on things, I'll use clones so that I can flower them when they are really really small (but still mature).

Ok so I bought this all in one system called the Aerogarden its pretty cool the Aero Garden, indoor herb garden, growing a indoor herb garden, indoor herb garden kit, beginner indoor herb garden kit, garden kit it comes with different seed kits. The one it came with was for salad greens and comes with some nutrient tablets to give once every two weeks specifically for the salad greens. Other kits are for flowers, cherry tomatoes, peppers, herbs, which each have their own special blend of nutrient tablets. Which one of these is most like a marijuana plant? I heard tomatoes.
Anyways, since I dont know much about growing I figured this was the best way to go. The kit comes with seven foam cylindrical shaped mediums which fit into a plastic hopper type device that slides into the hole where water is pumped from the resivoir yada yada. The tops of the foam mediums have a slit that when spread apart reveals what looked like several salad green seeds. I removed these seeds and replaced with one marijuana seed found from bags of weed. It has been 2 1/2 weeks and i have gotten 4 to sprout and had about 7 seeds never sprout. I have just placed new seeds in the last 3 slots, the other day so they should sprout in about 1 1/2 more days. They have only taken about 2 1/2 days to sprout.
I guess my main goal here is to get this new method out there and recieve your reponses and criticisms on this little project and to as well keep you all informed on this product as it may yield nice results. I feel like Christopher Columbus sailing into the blue with no guides. But I hope That you all can help guide me. lol ok I think I need to stop smoking before I write this stuff.
I have posted some pictures in my profile please view them because I have also noticed some yellowing on my plants, so help as to what may cause this and what I should do would be so great.

Thanks for Reading this
time for some :joint:

My girl just came to me yesterday with this frontgate catalog for christmas shopping, and showed me the aerogarden......YES!!!!! The busy man's way to go. I see it looks like it's going good for you. My g/f and I went on various road trips all up and down the east coast and we collected seeds and stored them in a blood vaule. Since the start we've gotten seeds from haze, blueberry, kin bud, and just regular. The blood vaule is full to the brim. I'm not really sure how many seeds I need per plant. As far as the aerogarden, if weed is like tomatoes then can you set all the pods to tomatoes?

Yes, the pepper/tomato setting will turn on lights for 16 hours and turn them off for 8... Also this setting will turn off the water pump when the light turns out and turn the pump back on a couple hours before the lights go back on...

Peace

Shorty ...

How ya gonna get a "pound or two" out of something that measures:

The AeroGarden measuring: Base: 6” x 16”, Hood: 10.5” x 19”, Height: 15.5” (lowest) to 21” (highest)

It would take a miracle and an unknown-to-this-point strain, Bro.

All the manuals someone posted here recently (if I could remember, you'd get credit...im just a lil burnt) has the light times for all the settings. Now, my question would be, which works best for various stages of development?

I like the idea of getting a one of the HID bulbs when they start to get too big for that light set up and just run it on a time with their hood remove. I've rigged something like that with an old lamp shade, which would be just about the right size for this. If ya really wanna get cheap, buy a shower curtain and glue tin foil to the inside. That should be big enough to wrap around the thing, keep light out/in, and send the light back to the whole plant. Set it on its on timer and it could really take off flowering. Get the benefits of the growth with the added kick of intense light.

One thought I have been having concerns strains. There have got to be a good selection of compact, potent, weight producers out there. Anyone got any ideas?

I think I am going to build a 3 foot high box to house this thing...but ill glue the foil to the wood...ill come up with a better idea...

And, I will update you on my progress to date...shortly...

Ok, I planted more than one seed in each pod just in case all did not germinate. I still want the thing full to start. One pod did not germ at all. I've got at least one in each, 2 in some, and 3 in one. About 3 are too leggy and need to go. I just don't have the heart...yet. I was thinking, because I can tell one of those is different than the rest (dark stem), I'd let it grow long enough to get a clone out of it. I've got about 3 healthy ones. I'm going to let them grow and see what happens. I've got berry bushes that I prune and thought that concept might work. That is, cutting off parts to force growth outward instead of up. Berry bushes flower too. The more outward growth, the more berries. It seems like basic gardening. I've got some books so I'm gonna see what might apply...

A thought I had was to use this fish emulsion to supplement the boxed stuff. I don't want to over do it, but I thought a lil shot might not hurt.

I could probably look it up online...LOL

Working on a pic.

I believe Big Bud, White Widow, Grapefruit and Mango are favourites for yield.

I also found out that if you jsut buy a simple timer (the aerogarden uses a non-grounded plug), and remove the battery-backup ..the unit goes on every time it's powered on..
The only drawback about this is that during flowering, i'll be doing 12/12..which means that for 12 hrs the pump won't be running...is that ok do you think ?

Oh and Merciless, Certain settings will have the water pump on when the lights are out...

I believe that the salad green setting has the pumps running continuously
