potroast and myself are not the website owner. we just are told what the rules are for the website by the owner, and we enforce them.
We have been told users cannot give away prizes, gift prizes, or do any sales, gifting , trades, hooks ups, of anything marijuana related or not marijuana related on our website.
he the owner has told us this is due to liability issues because our website is world wide and that our lawyers say it can get our website shut down
additionally, it gets a little interesting because users may feel this contest is something rollitup the actual website endorses and they feel comfortable giving you their full names and address through our internal system, when you guys are just users and users may be misinformed about this, even though you are apart of Inda Gro, they arent an advertiser here so we consider you a user/member of rollitup.
Look im sure you are a lovely person in real life, you dont seem like a bad guy, but if (IF) something ever went wrong and the user whos address /security was violated for some whatever reason
who is that user going to fault? their going to fault US rollitup because they assumed this contest was hosted by rollitup and endorsed by rollitup when it isnt.
You have no idea how many times users break the no trading/selling rule here and i have to deal with the outcome because they were ripped off hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars and they blame us (rollitup) for allowing it to happen.

the paid advertisers can do give aways here i assume (
and i say i assume because im not the one who writes up advertiser contracts) because they are legitimate companies, their liabilities fall under their legal businesses and what they have their own company lawyers. They also do their actual giving away off the website.
Users like yourself are just that a user or member of the forum so the liability falls back on us rollitup.
what conversations you had with potroast are what youve had with potroast, hes my higher up boss. so what hes told you is what is word, hes my superior i joined the mod team back in the day potroast was the one who modded me, While yes i gained administration along with potroast hes still technically my superior. Although we work closely together

As for getting ahold of the owner himself, you are absolutely welcome to reach out to him to see if you can get rollitup to endorse this contest,
i think ultimately there are a few things that would change should you get permission from the owner himself.
1. rollitup would have to be the ones who put on the actual contest
2. it would be something that our lawyers would have to work on
3. it would not be instant and a fast it would be something that is a work in progress

hes the one who owns the website, so i have to enforce the rules hes given me to follow. or im ultimately a useless twat in my job here.
if you want to continue with your contest, i have no problem under the condition that you cant dish out prizes, it can only be bragging rights only. again this is because this is what ive been told is allowed by the owner, from our lawyers.

Ultimately you kinda have to get that both potroast and myself are employees of the Owner of the website, we just enforce his rules, and there are things we cannot change about his website because well he owns it not us
The only prize is bragging rights and a headache hosting the 9th cup comp.
