We have advertising and the companies that advertise on riu seem pretty reasonable. Has there been any talk of getting the scrogco guys, or GorrilaSeedBank, or bong outlet.ca or the others to sponsor the comp? I mean personally id think that with even three of rius advertizers on board they could put together some pretty awesome prize baskets full of pipes, papers, tshirts, beans, and maybe some other stuff. Id be happy winning a bong or some beans if i placed in the top five. I can see where riu is coming from protecting our advertisers from free competition, but why not see if our advertisers want the advertising, they all have teams that do advertizing and site management after all. They want guys like me reccomending bonza seeds to all the new growers inquiring about where a good place to get seeds is dont they?

Gorilla and Midweek Song have supported the last two comps and I'm pretty sure on board for this one, pending judgment from the Mods here... So was/is Inda-Gro, but they pay for ads here (yet)... I feel like the party has been great for both of them (GSB, MWS) I think the party is even what helped draw out the advertising slots... I also talked with a rep from smoke cartel that seemed pretty stoked to support us... It really seems like the community wants this to happen and certain people are either being greedy or irritated that they're not involved! PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong!

Anything that can make riu more of a community im on board with. I love to see members ordering from our advertisers and the companies love it too. more money for them, and more stuff for us. Its a win win, and everyones happy.

You've been told several times your competition should only be for bragging rights
And that regardless of your competition users are not allowed to do selling trading hook ups and gifts
But under the "impression" you give out no prizes we never had a problem with your comp
when i went back and read the last few pages it seems to be a lot of speculation, something to do with how we have advertising companies now? and that you heard from a little birdy we the mods want to do away with your competition....little birdies are often misinformed or like to embellish drastically what they've been told.
Where are you getting we want to do away with your competition ?
I see nothing in this thread but speculation about advertising ?

We have the no gifting rule because it's not safe but mostly because our lawyers do not like it and it can get our website shut down
Every year you guys ignore our pleads to ask you to stop trading gifting via our website
We only have that rule because for your safety and to keep rollitup online not cause we wanna be jackasses
So I'm inclined to believe you're just going to go ahead with the contest as you planned that you will break rules again and give out prizes anyways
but maybe you can please stop using our internal system to have people's prizes handed out
I don't need to see people freaking out and reporting their full name and addresses with our internal system which actually happened by the way.

Ive never entered before so im not sure what the past contests have resulted in, but am i correct in assuming that it would be alright to rally the advertizers to sponser the contest this time around without any repercussion?

the last 7 pages is a lot of advertising speculation, if users rally to get our advertisers im not sure what the owners of the website opinion would be on that
because the contest is run simply by users and not anyone whos actually employed by rollitup itself.
i want to make sure his (frozenchosen) questions are fully answered, and figured out . i dont want to cause a bunch of telephone type responses to things that may pertain to the contest or not.
i dont want anything getting lost in translation and ill be real honest i just wanna deal with the guy who runs this contest so that he can get the straight of it all

If the problem is using RUI for communicating between members in regards to gifting - I don't care if you guys use www.Ledbuilder.org to talk to eachother. Keep the comp here, use the other site for the stuff RUI doesn't want you to do here.

So bottom line, ZERO mention of prizes,
if someone was willing to give the winner(s) something, RIU advertiser or not, there can be no mention of it on RIU?
@potroast told me that I couldn't do it because the companies offering things weren't paid advertisers, I was under the impression that, that was the reason
@GorillaSeedBank started to actually get ad slots, same as @Midweek Song .... These companies tried to pay for advertising, couldn't, still wanted to be involved in the community, and offered a few things... There was also some kind of concern from @potroast about the company Inda-Gro spamming the forum, to which I can only reason that for some reason he doesn't like IG... I have never once seen "spam" (or any other post) from Inda gro on RIU....

Long and short, Can we continue if paid advertisers offer their products and we communicate about it through another outlet?
Or is this something that the admins want ended?
Can we speak to the site owner about it? is there a phone number I can call? I really want this to continue, with some sort of prize support.... These guys (and gals) deserve some outside recognition
