O shit so you are using 2 bulbs not just 1??

Yep, Unless I put 1 globe within a few inches from the tops then it wont have that much effect.... at 1/2 foot the best maybey a UV index of 5-6
with 2 i should raise that up to about an index of 9-10.. i hope

im trying to see if it says on the package. this is some cheapo company my parents probabaly got for like a dollar at the pet store. All it says on the box is value pack and 'clear' aquarium light. not sure if it gives off UVB/UVA light but the fixtures inside the bulb are rectangular..thats about all thats clear.

all it says is its wattage (15, 25, 35) and the maximum hours (2000). nothing else about the quality or type of light

ok then cool, as long as it has it im good. ill just steal one and use it for my plants haha
They are cheap on ebay - i brought a rated one for $15 tube......
I think UVB have to state that it has UVB with a little lable, because its harmful and could cause damage to fish... Unless its a tropical tank... yes its UV but gold fish.... you cant be sure.
I am sure all fluro puts out UVAs .....BUT the coating and glass play a big part on what gets out! :)

well it doesnt say its for goldfish but i have goldfish. it doesnt say anything about UV rays all over, so i guess ill just forget this one. Tomorrow when im walking home i was planning on going to the gardening store to pick up sum supplies. I guess i could drop down to the pet store and pick up a UVB light too.

Well it has been an expensive sagar............ I picked up my internet brought globes (which WERE NOT WHAT HE SAID THEY WERE- gave them for cost $5.00 each)only to find that they DO NOT FIT domestic fittings..... like in your kitchen.... So off to pet shop I went........ Only to find they DID NOT have the 2 ft version of reflector..... SO I had to BUY NEW GLOB at $50.00 (genuien REPTI GLO UVB 10 ) And 3ft reflector $100.00

So in all ive ended up with 1 x 3ft globe 10uvb abd a reflector to suit! -
