hell yea I hear ya... but that's why I wouldn't trade anything in a public spot like that... people might get confused and think the worst.

WEEKLY UPDATE! I got my new bulbs in today and now I am rockin a quad spectrum lighting solution. I purchased UVL's Red Sun and 454. Next week I hope to get two more bulbs. I am thinking about going with New Wave's Super Violet. Here's my pics and a vid. I call it "Ghetto-LED" lighting, lol. They remind me of a light saber, too. I am hoping that my half baked ideas coupled with this thread will lead me to an efficient grow style using T5s

you can find them at any aquarium supply store /website. Pr0fesseur's thread has a whole list of websites that you can get these bulbs from.

Good question! I actually have 4 bulbs that are a true blue color. Two of them burn at 454 nm and the other two burn at 420nm. The reason I went with these aquarium bulbs is that I can better target PAR with a cadre of aquarium bulbs. Most of these aquarium bulbs are manufactured to promote photosynthetic activity in corals and other aquatic plants. So, I figured why not give it a go for terrestrial based plant growth.

Not to my knowledge. They are , however, manufactured by a company called "UV lighting company" I really like their bulbs! REal good quality stuff.
