I think the hardest part about this run is how long my veg is gonna be. I really need to get another light so I can have two chambers to run grows in perpetuity. Space is tight and by the time my clippings re vegged well enough to flower; the mothers will be about 14 weeks old or so

Damn, I am starting 2 rooms when I get my second 400 watt HID, which is in about 2 weeks :D
Itll be nice Having 2, but my power bill will become a bitch. lol I cant imagine how the people who run 1000+ watts feel
from running about 500 watts of all my equipment my bill went about about 40 bucks. I know its not a lot but damn.

and you only run t5s so its not a big deal for you
:P
Can i have your Mother? :D

LOL yea seriously! The power consumption is one of the top reasons I went with a t5 set up; although, I am lookinf into picking up a little 150 watt HPS to use to keep a veg room. Sorry, I'd give away your mom before I'd give up my mommies, lol :-D

Lookinhg good man! Don't let people tell you that your t5's aren't doing the job! Everyone has their own thing and thats what makes this hobby awesome! Happy growing

You need to get away from CFLs... I have had the same problem only with CFLs... It is a combo of things causes the leaves to curl and grow weird... Once the cuttings take root it is best to put them under a HPS. CFLs do not compare to the suns rays like a HPS

Its all about opinion. But yes hps has the sun specturm for flowing what about the veg spectrum that would be a MH or you can get cfls thay are the spectrum you want.I grow with cfl and if I'm not dumb and put them outside I do great. I'm not sure where the cfl thing came up.

I beg the differ... Ha

HPS are great for vegging... MH are a waste of money... Why have a light that you only use for vegging when you can have 1 HPS for vegging and flowering?

MH can both veg and flower but it doesnt have quiet as much of the red spectrum as the HPS...

Keep in mind in the winter the sun is closer to the earth... Under the sun there is always an abundent amount of red spctrum...

CFLs in my opinion, should only be used for cloning or seedling not vegging or flowering...

@MurshDawg
I have an extra 250watt HPS with bulb I am willing to give up to prove my point..

I wont ever veg with a HPS, T5 for veg for me 1000W HPS for flower.

I also agree that CFL's suck at flowering but I have seen some pretty decent grows where a grower flowered using a lot of CFL's I'm talking like 10 plus bulbs and the bud was "okay" in my opinion I wont grow that way but have seen some pretty novice growers make things happen with CFL's.

Trust me... If you veg with a HPS you will not turn back... Robust stems, shoots, and leaves.... The plant is alot more sturdy.. Able to take a little more abuse...
I have grown with CFLs nearly 60% of the time I have been growing and when I made the switch I have not gone back...

I only use CFLs for cloning and Nothing else... All TOP SHELVE nugs are grown under HPS... The differance - Fluffy or Dense..

Agreed all top shelves nugs are grown with a HPS but not from start. I have vegged with a HPS and I didnt care for it. I got better results using a T5 in veg and the HPS in flower. The only difference was minor stretching using the HPS, and a lot of stretch using the T5.

Either way you should have some blue and white spectrum in there for internodal spacing which means more buds in the end. Dont get me wrong I have heard and seen people going full spectrum the whole grow and having great results. Actually the full spectrum growers sound like a lot like you. They wont ever go back to any other way..lol

i agree i do use a 250 cfl for vegging now, but usually i do vegg under hps, you get a shorter veg time, and i to have noticed branches get thicker faster under hps.

I am totally into the idea of PAR and trying to provide it to the plants. That's why I subscribed to such a fringe idea like incorporating aquarium lamps into indoor growing. I also like the idea of LEDs but I am poor and good LEDs cost good money. The price I pay for the bulbs I run are equivalent to the price of just one good HID bulb (like hortilux) and to top it off I save more because I don't have to move hot air from a hood.

Hey MurshD, I have grown with LEDs, IMHO my BB T5 does anything they can do for half the price, including the cost of coral bulbs. If you like, I will post a bud pic when I take them tomorrow. All I can say is for a Sat dom plant I am very pleased with budding so far. I know each one of the 15-17 X 12-15" side branches will all soon fill in like fat colas. Started seeing trics 2 days ago.

I have a journal on another site under same UN
