SuperCropping - Anybody do it and seen good results??

Supercropping is an easy growth training method for marijuana growers. This is simply cutting off the top of the main stem several times during its vegetative growth, leaving approximately 10% of the stem intact each time. This method induces the plant to generate the growth of additional side shoots, which in turn increases the overall bud production. This is a favorite method of many growers, due to the almost - guaranteed increased yields.
says it increases yeilds, but i wanna kno if any body has ever done this to their plants and can say it definitely increases yeild..."someone come onto the stage and testify!"

I supercrop all my plants, it's a great way to bring out the full potential of the plant. Not all strains are good for supercropping though, for instence,
Kali Mist is NOT a good strain to supercrop because it produces the most bud in a dominant cola.
Big bud is a great plant to supercrop because it tends to branch more.
Youtube has some info from Soma wich is good, and Urban Grower has info too. I take my plants to 8 weeks before I flower wich allows ample time
for many braches to get length and strength.
I keep bending up to the 3rd week of flowering, after that the stalks get to strong and can snap easily.
Every strain in the world has a maximum amount it will flower, all we can do is
give the plant a fighting chance.

When it says "This is simply cutting off the top of the main stem several times during its vegetative growth" How many times do you think this means? Like twice?

According to Soma, supercropping is the act of pinching the stem of the main cola and bending it over to make the plant act as if the lower branches are now the tops. a hormone is delivered to the top cola producing the large top flower. When you bend the top over( wich corrects itself in a few days)
the rest of the shoots that are above the bent cola act as the tops, producing many top colas. He never says much about topping the main stem, just bending it.

Yeah, I agree with CannaBoss. I've never heard of anyone calling topping a plant "supercropping." From what I've read, supercropping is when you pinch the stems so they must repair themselves but become stronger and better at delivering water/nutes. Supercropping is supposed to be like "exercising" your plants delivery system. But like I said, that's just what I've read. I've got no experience with this method.

Cutting off the top is known as FIM topping. I use that method all the time. Turns the 1 main stem into 2, and if you want more than that, top those 2 and they will become 4, and so on.

Another thing I meant to add. When you top your plant, it stops vertical growth for about a week. It starts focusing on bushing out until the stem is repaired and then it continues growing vertical again. This is useful if you don't have alot of vertical space and you don't mind waiting an extra week or 2 before you flower.

This is one of my Sour Diesels that I supercropped, it might be hard to see but it has 6 or 7 nice tops after 6 weeks of growth. 2 more weeks of veging to go...

"Oh wow.."
was what I said when I saw these pics..those are some really good jobs.

so super cropping is the same thing as topping? whats all this talk about leaving the top 10% each time? wouldnt that make it FIM'ing?

How I did these was, I topped them at 6'', then I allowed the side shoots to grow and catch up with the top. I let them get fairly long so that they were strong enough to pinch and bend without destroying the stems.
Then you take the tallest one of those shoots...pinch the stem at the internode, and bend it until the top shoot is below the rest. The bent one will
correct itself if you pinch and bend CAREFULLY...in just a few days.
Now all your shoots should be strong and tall like the one you bent prior.
Keep finding the top shoots and pinching and bending until they are at the same height. Now you hve several top colas.
I continue to do this until the 3rd week of flowering.

Here are two of my Sour Diesel sativas at 8 weeks of vegitation. I use 18/6 MH for the first 6 weeks, then switch 16/8 for the 7th week and finnally 14/10 for the 8th week. This prepares them for flowering gradually as they do in nature.
It is hard to see but the nodes are really close throughout the plant do to this method.
The one on the left is the same one in the earlier picture.
The tops that are the highest have been pinched and bent.
Sorry I only have a crappy camera phone.

that is pretty much what i use to do... and since it increases the budding sites i would say lifts the yield a bit too:)
