i HAVE HEARD THAT PUTTING A SMALL PLANT IN A BIG POT WILL MAKE IT STRETCH. i HAVE 10 SPROUTS THAT ARE 1" - 3". i WANTED TO MOVE THEM TO A 2 GAL POT. wILL THIS MAKE MY BABIES STRETCH. i PLAN ON PUTTING THEM UNDER A 400 WATT MD AS SOON AS I SWITCH POTS. aNY THOUGHTS?

Some say that you should ease your plant into bigger and bigger pots because if they put in a huge pot to start with, the roots are going spread out instead of ball up. They waste a lot of space for the roots when they r put in huge pots to start w. Just what some people say tho.

Moving them to bigger pots won't make the top of the plants stretch, it will make the roots stretch.

Yes. You could do this. I would suggest going thru one more transplant, before going to that big of a pot. Problem is we can't see what size pots they are in now. Got any pictures, we like pictures. As far as putting them under the 400 watt, start with it about 2' above the plants and then move it down a few inches a day until its about a foot above them, then as the plants grow up, start moving the light back up. It is possible to get them within 8" if the light is air cooled with a shield. VV

for my first grow, i started right away in a large pot and the roots strechted out a lot and wasted space......live and learn i guess....
