Another benefit of leaving fan leaves on, is that they are the first indicators of stress or deficiencies. Anyone lollipopping their plants should also keep as many fan leaves on while removing all other side branches.

I cut a bunch of fan leaves on my first grow and it stunted growth a bit. I would advise against cutting any more fan leaves, but its totally your choice. Minutes after I trimmed a ton of my fans, I came across a video on youtube explaining the importance of keeping them on. Simply, those leaves are the big produces of energy for your plants. Kind of similar to our stomach, in ways. Ultimately, you may be reducing your plants ability to absorb energy and process it a little more with every fan you cut off. I first cut mine off thinking that all my flowers should get light, but removing the fans before flower was finished was a mistake. This time I haven't removed any fans and my plants seem much happier. Even when I've nute burned or wind burned some of my plants I've only clipped the burnt edges off of the leaves. So the plants could still digest the light at its sources closest to the flowers. The video mentioned that there are a few fans you could clip off, if they are obstructing a lot of growth. However, its better off to find a way to LST or provide supplemental lighting. Also, too much stress on a plant can cause it to start shooting nanners. I just found this out first hand recently. I hate wasting my time plucking nanners from two of my plants. They dont seem to have pollinated anything yet and I only have another 2 weeks or so before I chop and dry, so, not enough time for any seeds to grow if the pollen from the nanners is actually viable.
yea i've read about pruning and all that to me i don't believe in that i mean to a point yea it should get stunted but if you have a lot of leaves like me still on they should pull out easy. i've never had banana's yet with my blue widows i was surprised i didn't get them either because those went through hell and back. woke up this morning they getting extremely frosty but i started feeding them nirvanah and overdrive so that could be it since they already in flowering i wanna see what these nutrients are capable of. my dad gets a lot of hermies cause he loves to super crop his plants instead of LST. just did light pruning gonna let them run naturally now and just prune a week before i flip to prep them for the flip.

i got this friend who got me into growing and i think he mad at me because i grow nicer plants then him and he been vegging his plants for i think 14 weeks before he flipped and they all hermie. i think his issue was because he's using the cheapest setup you can possibly use to grow like 5-6 plants so they are barely getting any light at all from a 75W led setup given actual draw likely isn't 75W.

yea i mean i only took out the ones that were touching the soil/blocking nodes so it wasn't like i did a full on pruning. too new to trust myself to prune the shit out of em. plus i know the fan leaves won't perk up unlike the nodes so they would remain on the soil sitting in it and eventually die off cause they are constantly in the wet soil. had this happen before. with this grow i NEVER let the soil dry out as well if you look thats why i am constantly watering plus i water to no run off so in reality im underwatering the plants. when i transplanted them from the 3gals the soil was fairly dry too dry for my liking and that i think was just after 2 days only.

Lol, a 75w LED is probably only good enough for a single plant in a 2x2!!

I definitely started monster cropping, or whatever its called. Pulled clones from topped branches of flowering plants. They start out so bushy and have aggressive growth! Maybe thats one reason I got two plants tossing bananas, but they surely aren't hermies. No balls, all female, just some nanners show up randomly in the middle of flowers.

Glad to know you're not torturing your girls like I tortured mine before!! Smart move to chop the soil downed leaves!

Something else I'm just starting to get into is companion gardening. Get some red clover seeds next time you get into growing. Use them as a ground cover to keep your top soil moist and the clover helps break things down and make them readily available to the surrounding plants. I think mostly nitrogen with clovers.

thats what i told him but he goes and mocks me now he all pissed cause im growing better shit then him lmfao. i have the same light as him as well it's the one you see in the background. it works okay for seedlings but in the end it wasn't worth the cost. pretty much trying to keep it simple as possible for now still learning and dialing in everything plus sitll having issues with certain things on the daily basis. right now it's RH my RH is extremely fucking low at this moment at 43%. idk how low it will reach while im at work.

on the good note though i think my state is legalizing in 2020 or 2021 had some talk about it but idk how that will end up. i know they will eventually though because the state needs the tax dollars really badly. i've seen the restrictions though and it's pretty fucking bad probably the worst of any legal state imo.

Do you have a humidifier? Maybe even placing a bucket of water nearby will help a tiny bit.

no because high humidity is usually my issue lol im sitting at 38% RH and 75.8F right now lmfao. i have to leave for work in 30mins will be extremely interesting to see where the RH goes in those hours at this rate i can bet it will hit 35 or 34%. i misted the plants figured that would help but it didn't do shit lmfao. im just going to let it run it's course though but man if i had this kind of humidity in flowering i would love it.

Use a bucket of water with a tower hanging over side just touching the water, creating a wicking situation.

it will still only slightly help, but better than nothing,

To comment on the super cropping causing hermies,

many very experienced and very elite growers are super cropping and even monster cropping plants non stop, some do it as late as 4-5 week of flower, if it was something that caused hermies , i would imagine they wouldve quit doing it by now?

From what i have gathered, bad genetics is the leading cause of hermies.

Some guys are real harsh and nasty with their plants and grow fire every time without hermies

Training increases yields big time, everyone should do it lol

temp- 75.4F RH- 54%

will be watering today probably just rain water maybe all supplements with no npk value

UPDATE- watered with just rain water; water fairly cold since it just rained dont know exact temps but probably in the 60's. no PH. getting very difficult to water think i LST'd too low will be switching to a 2 day watering schedule from now on though just due to the bigger sized pot and given plants are still getting the same amount of water anyways which is 1gal split among the 3.

i got a max of 61 days left of veg to go to hit my 14week veg mark. will likely be cutting all nutrients by half at this point to try and continue to feed every watering so base nutes will be 0.5ml everything else 2ml

UPDATE- decided to water another gal to try and push 2gal per watering. 1st watering was without nutrients. 2nd watering with nutrients. base nutes 1ml because i can't go under 1ml my syringe dont go that low. added all supplements besides voodoo juice and rhino skin at 2ml. RH running lower then normal again 52% right now will likely drop further.

lowered lights as they were about 25inches high but forgot to lower them yesterday due to LST dropped um around 20-21inches from tops. kind of spread plants a little further apart just to get more space/light and air flow between the 3 as well.

you live in Hawaii too? idk mine were going great until i lst'd and pruned um now they are taking fairly long to bounce back. likely will go full legal here just the matter of when and likely security purposes. already seen a bunch of horror stories about despenseries getting hit one i believe was the person ran up to the shop and shots were fired and some people died but not sure what state that was from or if it was even a real story just some random article i seen online.

they are smelling really nice though for being only in veg usually i get only a slight faint smell but it's getting stronger. my blue widows smell good too maybe i'll post a photo here when i get home from work today if anyone interested in seeing them flower outside under really bad conditions lol

Well I grew out dutch passion strawberry cough. Is not the same as years ago...at all.
Only bought a 3 pack of seed. All looked different and grew different. None had a citrus smell. One smelled awful cant stand it. Smells like rotten beef.
and last but not least the high is not the same either from the past.
I got rid of all clones and moved on.

th seeds strawberry cough is a good one.

rotten beef o_O mine just smells like weed doesnt have that distinct smell of it's own yet. same with my blue widows it smelled just like weed then when i flowered it had a more distinct smell. my dad grew something last year it smelled so damn good kind of like a strong lemon smell.

temp- 73.9F RH- 61%

removed LST yesterday gonna try speed this grow up already getting super impatient lol not sure why my pic is super dark. slight damage on pheno 2 think the watering/feeding i did 2 days ago burnt the leaves only see it on 1 pair of leaves though.

might have to adjust the plants again tomorrow getting really hard just to take pics since one plant is in the corner and there is a wall blocking it's view.

UPDATE- plants are at about 24inches from the ground, moved light up as from the tops they were 17inches. both pheno 3 and 2 stems on the kolas and branches i LST are really stiff think they will be locked in that position already unless i super crop them. pheno 2's kola stems are thick as fuck. pheno 1 is the 2nd thickest and pheno 3 the one growing the fastest has the skinniest stems on the kolas. think pheno 2 and 1 will yield more in the end tbh.

tried to move things around but no matter what i do the 1 light isn't enough for all 3 too bushy planning to flip in a few weeks before they get out of hand.

temp 72.6F RH 67%

water day. since i removed the LST pheno 3 and 2 been looking slightly better pheno 1 still slow. forgot to say the pheno 3 ( left ) is already showing sex. although they are fem i always like to compare when plants show sex. this one isn't even finished with week 5. usually my plants show sex after week 6 or towards the very end of week 6.

UPDATE- watered 1gallon split to all 3. fed everything except voodoo juice and rhino skin. anything with nitrogen in it i fed at 4ml except base nutes which i fed 1ml everything else with no nitrogen in it according to the label that is i fed at full dosage such as carboload and ancient earth. only thing i really fed at 4ml i believe is B52 and sensizym since i feed both almost every watering give or take.
