Starting Clones With a Mh?

Hi, Could i start my clones if i put a 1000 watt mh like 6 feet above them?? or do i need to purchase a floresent light??

you could but it says it decreases the lumen output that far away u can start them being theyonly need a little light to become rooted

If you don't want to use the MH, then you can buy 23 Watt Cfl's at walmart for a dollar. But yeah you could use the MH, just watchout for stretching if you put it too far.

I dont think so i think i will just make a box just for my mother with a small strip floreseent lights. if i put clones in the same box as the mother i would have to do alot more work. How Big should the box be( for me the smaller the better?

2feet wide 2feet long and 4 feet high... douhave a seperate room for flowering or justone room

not really sure what that means??? i have another question...for just the mother a 2 foot T5 with 2 bulbs?4 bulbs? or 8 bulbs???the more bulbs=more price=longer for me to start growing?

2 foot t5 2 bulbs is perfect for 2 mothers a 175 mh is about the same..2 ft bulb and fixtures are about 69.95 at htg.supply.com they got alot of good stuff cheap prices

125 cfl is good for mothers also.. how many mothers are you trying to keep??

I was planning on 1 but since the light im getting will grow 2 i am gonna grow 2.

not to encouragemore money spent but with an hid 150/175/250 u can take cuttings every 15 days with cfl/t5 probably every 3 weeks to a month so with a hid u can flower more plants quicker by taking clones and flowering them as soon as they root (s.o.g)

Well i was planning on taking cuttings every 12 weeks so thats not a issue...because i have a pretty small grow space...i was gonna veg for 4 weeks then flower for 8 under a 1000 watt hps/mh light...i was gonna do the get a harvest every 2 weeks but i dont think i smoke enogh to make that worth it...this way i just harvest w.e i harvest and that will deffantly keep me going for 3 months? Does that sound like a ok plan? and electricty is a big problem so id rather just have 1 good grow then wait tell im getting lowish on weed and start a new grow?? how long can i keep a mother for? after a while i will need to take clones from the mothers and flower the mothers...Big mothers being flowerd

if u plan on taking cuttings every 3 months your mother plants would be huge calling bugs...if i was in your position... build a setup for moms take cuttings every month and replace your mom every month. depending on howmuch you want 1/4pound 1/2 pond 2 ounces every month thats how much plants you put in the flower room and the other cuttings use as replacement mothers
