I can only speak for how I size fans for industrial ventilation. CFMx60/Area means all day long a 4" fan that does 184cfm dialed back a tad is the correct fan.... If it was me I'd save my money and get a 4"...in fact I did and it works great!
Also I priced the 6 inch. I thought you said it and filter with speed control so why you saying 4 now? The 6 inch combo was 150$ but so was the 4 or 8

Not necessarily. 184 cfm is always going to sound like 184 cfm whether it's going through 4" or 6". If you put the motor that runs the 4" and the motor that runs the 6" side by side unattached to the fan assembly, and run them, they are going to sound about the same. The noise is coming from the air itself.
But on the next page of this conversation is what im talking about you saying use a 4 inch so which is it? 4or 6?

Just checked and that's around 38$ cheaper but doesn't have speed control or I didn't notice. The one I saw did for 150$ versus 113$ you showed me.
just posted this in another thread and I think it would be relevant for you also.. I really dont think a 4" would be right for you bro.. sucks to buy things just to realize you need at least another size up.

personally... I would get a cheaper 8" fan

fwiw its been a good handful of years since I bought my last 20A variac but i think i paid less than $100.. I would guess 75 but it could have been 90.. money well spent and you can run 2 fans off one controller.. shop around cuz the same item can be $100 difference and a well cared used one is usually just as good as new... i found a 5A at a garage sale for $10 last year!

Im thinking about a 6 or 8 and im not worried about the noise truthfully. Its gonna be indoor but outside the house and any neighbors I have don't really pay attention to other people business and are older people that I am friends with work with helpetc.. Now they know I get high now and then but don't have the slightest idea something like this. Also people around are always running power tools generators etc.. Im not going to be able to start an indoor grow for a few months while I save my money up and already have outdoor plants. 1 ready within 4 weeks an auto blueberry, 2 August if they run like the blueberry but are oak 47 and think different auto and 1 photo blueberry im cloning the hell out of starting about 6 weeks old on the first time I top it im using it for my first cutting because it will definitely be a long cut for a top cause I let mine usually get a little taller than most and then take almost a third so it comes back like a stump then 2 weeks later I take about 6 then 2 weeks later about 25 and so forth but probably stop at 25 and taking cuttings early in the year here in Alabama my cuttings have been known to outgrow the mother thanks to our climate and longer outdoor growing period. Anyway I really appreciate any advice on this matter as this will be my first indoor project but when I decide to do something especially illegal I go all out make it worth my while so im going with at least an 8x8 tent but have thought about 10x10 with 3000 Watts. I think honestly with my outdoor experience combined with study and advice i will actually do pretty well. But I know im a newbie to indoor loll. I am thinking about going with banana kush first run and later whether indoors or outdoors I wanna get around to Colombian gold, bubble gum, blackberry kush auto and photo, Bruce Banner, Maui wowi and several other over plenty of time of course but I wish I could find chiquita banana. I read about it but only by clone if your in the know in a California company pretty much exclusive to the workers but something like 37% thc though banana kush is at 27 and Bruce Banner at 29. Thanks again man I really appreciate it. Every time someone sends me these links I look them up as I will yours but I need to write a few of these down because I have came across many good choices but can't remember everything loll. I really think its awesome you said the speed control will work 2 fans. I do have a very big question besides this but goes along. When you run your fan through the filter ducting whichever way is best etc.., after the odor goes through the filter does it stop there? Or I guess what im also saying is do you need to run the filter outside somewhere or will everything be cool recirculating inside your tent? Please help me with the answer to this as I know there are many options just like options to sizable fans and lights tents etc.. And thanks in advance

Saw the fan you sent link for was around 60$ but didn't look at the other links yet but while I was there found an 8 with filter speed control temperature and ducting and don't know how good this price is but everything for that 1 was $209

ya everything was around that but with a quality speed controller.. look up variac controller and you'll see what i mean.. the cheap ones can make noise etc and ive had one melt..

ya with 3000w you're going to definitely need more than the 4".. good luck!

If you don't have a ton of experience start out with 2 plants in the smaller space and work up from there. With my first I bit off more than I could chew and it turned into a fiasco. My 2 cents..
I feel that I may have done the same thing with my little tent... I've got too much going on in there for that small space...
