So I just got pulled over....

Sounds like you've experienced exactly what I go through... Marijuana doesn't always cure the headache completely, but it does offer immediate relief which pills cannot. Not to mention it curbs the nausea too. If I have a really bad migraine my routine involves 3 aspirin, a few hard bong rips, and then a half-hour hot shower. After that I can usually at least concentrate and function without wanting to rip my head off my neck.
Gave you a +rep btw! :D

I'm thankful I only had to go to the ER because of a migraine once.
The only other immediate relief like that besides smoking would be an I.V. or Injection?
Hmmm... smoke a dried flower or inject stuff into myself and have to keep getting needles?

Yeah...NO THANKS! There are very few methods of immediate relief other than Marijuana... when a bad one strikes I just wish I could go to sleep for 10 hours and wake up hopefully feeling better.

Congrats to you. Was City or County that pulled you over? You are lucky.

Better do something about the ticket. We have something called a driver's responsibility fee. I think it is $200 for most infractions and it must be paid for 2 years.

You handled it right.

federal cheakpoints. I understand state line, but new mex is a medical marijana state, and the feds have agreed to stop
attacking medical marijuana, i dont know for sure about these "checkpoints" they could be real.
dont dout it. but as far as cali goes iv been pulled over 2 many times locally, (small town)
and so far only one ticket for speeding. They think im illeaglly distrubuting bud.
but in real talk im not, every time iv been pulled over, twice iv was running a drop.
but i always have my papers stating that im going to be transporting a quanity amount of medication.
and my first stop is and has to be by law, is whom evers collective im takin meds too.
law enforecment has lightened up so much in cali, glad to hear is the same in michagin
Umm..I love all you experts with all your experience on New Mexico politics that don't even live here. Yes, Federal check points. Not only along the border but along Native Reservations and rolling checkpoints. We've had deliveries intercepted (just recently) and producers raided because of intercepted deliveries. SWOP being one of them. But, what do I know? I only live here. Silly me.

Thanks everyone for the rep :) I will finish returning it all when RIU allows me to again. All the positive feedback lightened the blow even more on this crazy day. Thanks again everybody!

It was a City cop. I have 14 days to show that I have taken care of my tags on my plate or else its $110 after that. So I should be all good :)

You didn't handle it right, you let the cop stomp all over your rights when you gave him permission to search your car, never give consent to search, even if there is NOTHING in the car. Im glad it all worked out for you and you handled the police correctly, just not the situation. Rep Bomb for you.

he mentioned in the op that he knows he did that part wrong and hes ashamed of it. i agree too. i would have said no sir, i do not grant permission to search, or go inside of my car but i will tell you have some buds in a jar in the console and a pipe, and im a registered medical user.

Yeah, I wish I would have said something else... but it's really easier said than done. It's hard when you have less than 2 minutes to prepare, ya know? It's a new law and it's the first time I've been pulled over with weed in my car. I was not in the right frame of mind to argue with a cop... so I did the next best thing and was completely cooperative and it worked out just fine because I'm legal.

I might have put up a bigger fight if I wasn't legal, bust since I really had nothing to hide... I'll comply. I know they're just doing their job and I was just trying to get to mine.

He could smell the weed. It was obvious. I knew he could smell it as soon as he walked up to the window.

No need to bullshit when he knows and I know. Ya know? :) I really didn't want to aggravate the situation because I was shitting bricks, lol!

You did a great job of handling things with the police, hopefully these are steps in the right direction when we all know that the police are here to serve and protect us, instead of fearmonger and interrogate.

That's what I've always believed too, man. I appreciate the police force and I am not a bad guy.

I just put myself in his shoes and treated him with respect and I got the same in return. If I was to start arguing about my rights then he would suspect something. You can't let the police suspect ANYTHING if you don't want to be hassled. I understand my rights but I also respect the police. Reflecting back on yesterday and with all the positive feedback from everybody, I don't think I could have handled it any better.

All was good and I feel like a new man today, lol :)

Every reaction to a situation varies depending on when it happens. When I read the search vehicle part I was thinking that a person does not have to let an officer search them or their property without probable cause. I was not sure, but I am glad that you took it on NoDrama.:leaf::leaf::leaf:

You have to understand where i am coming from. You might have had someone else in the car at some point and they might have stashed or dropped who knows what in the car without your knowledge. Lets say that a pill of E was somehow dropped and the cop found it, you would be real pissed and in jail right now. Or how about a plastic baggy with residue...meth maybe, anything could have happened and its never a good situation. Not having anything to hide is no excuse for giving away your rights. Claiming your rights cannot also be used to further a Police officers " Suspicion" ,it CANNOT be used as a basis for a search EVER! The Supreme court upholds that ruling all the time.

Hey skolar,

Are you in MI? Wow that is such a good story and a scenario that I've played out in my head many times. I'm glad it all worked out for you in a positive way. It had to be fuckin crazy though, even though it's alright it still has that crazy taboo feeling to it, whihc is where I think the nervousness still comes from.

Thx for sharing.

Yeah I hear ya man, but I knew what was in my car. I've only had it for 4 months and I'm the only one that drives it.
Not to mention I don't hang out with crack-heads and meth addicts... So I don't feel like the cop stomped all over my rights because I allowed him to do the search. I feel where you're coming from, but you should also know what's in your own car..

They actually found 2 plastic baggies with residue in it. Still legal for me because all marijuana, bowls, grinders, etc... are considered legal for medical purposes. It's all protected in MI.

I'm glad I wasn't a dick about it and just let them go through their routine. I had nothing to hide, so why act like it? That's just asking for more problems and they would just get a search warrant anyway... like I said...they smelled the weed.
