Looks good bro. Did you do any chucking to get seeds? Always wanted to try some Dankonomics
Yooo Spud! Thank you. Unfortunately I don't have the space to setup another room for breeding. If I could I would, trust me I'd be chucking pollen in a heartbeat.

Although my sample size is small, I like what I've seen so far from Dankonomics. He works with solid genetics and is as no-frills as it gets. He also doesn't charge egregious prices for his gear which cannot be said for a lot of breeders now days. With all the smoke and mirrors in the breeding community, it's kind of hard to trust people at their word.

I've got a couple more packs of his and I'll be opening one in the next week or two, some nanadawg (stardawg x banana kush). The other pack of GG#4 S1's I plan on holding to run until later this year.

I know what you mean man id love to have so much more space for breeding and growing but my space limits me.

Yeah most of his stuff looks frosty as hell so i will defo have to try his gear at some stage. Where do you buy from when buying his gear?

As far as US seedsbanks, I know Oregon Elite Seeds stocks his gear which is how I got the GG#4 S'1. Attitude Seeds is the only seed bank I know of that stocks his stuff internationally. I've personally never had an issue with Attitude but I know lots of ppl in the states prefer a US bank just to avoid the hassles of customs. I don't think you're in the US though, so Attitude might be a better route for you.

Personally, the easiest way I got his gear was through him directly. I reached out on Instagram and the rest was history. I'm not going to get into too many details on here, but I ended up with the beans in two days time.

*quick rant below*

Looking back over the past 10 years it's safe to say that my desires in cannabis have changed. I could've been described like many of the growers that are out there, looking for plants with name recognition and weight. Even up to last year when the first strains I chose to grow after a long hiatus were Blue Dream, Critical Kush, and Granddaddy Purple. I didn't purchase those strains because I knew the strain lineage or terpene profile or stabilization, I purchased them because that's just what I saw in the dispensaries.

Some time around 8-9 months ago during my GDP grow something just clicked for me. I remember seeing all of these US seed banks being posted about on RIU - and they all carried genetics from breeders I never heard of. I saw VERY reputable people posting things on RIU about James Bean, Oregon Elite, Great Lakes Genetics... I'm sitting there looking at all their menu's and I'm thinking to myself "if all these breeders are so good then why haven't I heard of them before?". That's what got me to start thinking outside the box, and I finally began to understand how this whole thing works. And that's how I stumbled across dankonomics, literally going down the list of breeders and researching each one of them and their work.

Took the Blue OG down at 57 days, she's on hangers in the drying tent. Beautiful aroma on her, it's a blend of lime n' berries.

I'll let everything else continue until 60-63 days before they get cut down.

Beans will be getting wet later this week. Vader OG & Nana Dawg will be the cultivar's of choice. Really going for some gassy/diesel notes with the heavy OG lineage, I think both those strains will provide that.

I'm excited for what the future will bring, folks. The flood and drain is pretty much dialed in at this point. I've had back to back successful crops using this grow style and I'm happy with the switch over to Jacks 321. Canna coco will be the medium of choice and I'll be keeping the EC between 1.3 - 1.4 from start to finish.

The HLG Quantum Boards are doing their thing as well, so I have no complaints in the lighting department. Everything I've grown with them has been on point and dense, definitely worth every penny.

Ladies and gentleman, the next circle of life is ready to start.

Moments ago I tossed 12 Vader OG & 6 Nana Dawg beans into separate cups of RO water. This is the first time I've worked with exclusively regular genetics, so I'm hoping I get at least 6 females out of the bunch. Anything more and I'll be a happy camper.

I've been busy working in the garden all morning. I took down the old 4x4 tent and replaced it with the new one. Everything was given a scrub down, including flood table, reservoir, water lines, and pots... the grow space saw some shop vac action as well.

Last night I chopped the rest of the plants and hung them up to dry. Holy smokes, they are strong in the smell department. I was seriously sleeping on the banana glue and not really posting much about it. After spending time hanging her up I realized just how nice she turned out. Overall, everything turned out great and I'm looking forward to the variety between the five plants.

The Blue OG has been drying for 6 days so she'll be ready for a cure in the next couple days. The rest of them will need at least a full week to dry, so they'll be on hangers all of next week.

I also swapped out the 8' clip on fans for one 16'' oscillating wall mounted fan. It moves air like a champ, almost too much, so I'll need to experiment with it a bit. I don't want the plants getting wind burn (which I don't think will happen), but yeah, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it moves the air.

I'll get some pictures posted up soon.

Looks like a nice haul. All squeaky clean ready for the next round. How were the terps on the Banana Glue when you got in there rubbing & cutting on them?

I pick up on a strong citrus, (think grapefruit) smell. Very sweet. I also seem to get a very very faint smell of gas, which could be from the Banana Kush. I can't wait to cure it and test it out.

Nice setup dude... I wondered about those big fans I was always wondering how I would mount it to my tent. I got 1m x 1m with two 260w quantum board kits holy shit it’s bright, currently got some Bruce banner on the grow... I’m new to boards... they seem to work well tho
Thank you! I always wanted an oscillating fan and didn't know how I'd mount it. The most common way I've seen people do it is to mount a piece of lumber between/to the tent poles, and then mount the fan on the piece of wood.

Honestly, for me using one piece of metro shelving and some heavy duty zip ties has worked wonders. It kind of reminds me of having a piece of MOLLE with the ability to mount anything to it.

Nice looking setup you have there too. I like the way you incorporated the rubber bungees to hold the carbon filter in place. That Bruce Banner looks on point, do you have a journal on here?

Thanks bro, yeah I want to get the filter a little higher up incase i have to raise those boards one day, nah man haven’t started one up I really should start one instead of photo bombing other growers journos... :p
Its looks like number 3 pheno which is awesome... ur buds get real dense under those boards???, this is my first grow using the boards and installed them 2 weeks into the run

Vertical space is the biggest challenge I've ran up against since converting over to a flood and drain table. Instead of my plants sitting on the floor of the tent, they're up about 2 ft from the floor in the table so I lose vertical space quickly. I circumvented that issue by keeping my carbon filter on the outside of my tent, and pushing air through it. Some people don't like doing it that way, but it has worked well for me.

If this is your first time using boards then you're going to be in for a big surprise, in a good way. I've done three runs using quantum boards and every single time the bud density has been on point, regardless of the strain.

Yeah nice... the reviews from here really sold the boards to me... some of the results are mouthwatering and the lumens to watt ratio is quite impressive... I just started a journal in the grow journal sections drop in and check it out sometime.. I’ll be posting lots of bud porn

Not in a tent, but still faced the same issue when converted to F&D. Using LED in place of the HPS hoods has given me back some of the missing head room and allowed me to grow in the summer, but once we go back to cold months Im switching back to HID (and short SOG style grows). Every light has its purpose and earns its spot in my rooms. Might check out the boards next time I build a light.

-Day 1

Today is the day. After 72 hours all 18 seeds have successfully germinated. For the first 24 hours the seeds were soaked in RO water, followed by 48 additional hours in wet paper towels.

Since this is technically a new run, I'll quickly touch on the details of my growing methods since they're always changing a bit.

Grow room: 4x4 tent
Lights: (2) HLG QB288 kits - max output 575 watts. ~ 35.9 watts per sq. ft. (3000K spectrum)
Medium: Canna coco coir
Watering method: 3x3od Flood and drain table | 185gph EcoPlus pump | RO water at 5-10PPM
15 mins on, 5 hrs 45 mins off - flood every 6 hours.
Reservoir Size: 27 gallon HDX - maintained at 20 gallons + an aquarium air pump + stone set low
Nutrients: Jacks 3-2-1 Method via Jacks 5-12-26 + 15.5-0-0 + Epsom Salt. I also add Pro-tekt Silica and Cannazyme

I prefer starting seedlings in party cups or waxy cups with slits on the bottom. This run I'm using all party cups. I expect to transplant into 1 or 2 gallon pots in three to four weeks. Typical grow rooms temps are maintained in the 70-75 degree range. Humidity levels are typically in the 50%-60% range.

I flooded the table immediately after the seeds were put in their cups, here is an overview of nutrient strength:
48 grams Jacks 321
32 grams Cal-Nit
16 grams Epsom Salt
20ML Pro-Tekt Silica

In a week or two I'll begin adding Cannazyme at the ratio of 100ML or (5ML per gallon). Until these plants get larger I'll be keeping only one of the light fixtures on, currently set at 250 watts at 24'' above canopy.

About this current res mix:
The final mix came out to 750 PPM so I diluted the res with an extra couple gallons of RO water to level off at an even 700PPM. The PH initially landed at 5.7, so I added a little PH up to stabilize the PH at 5.9. On the next res change I'll bump the Silica from 20ML to 30ML which should help buffer that PH to where I want it at 6.0 (without the need to add PH up).

About the genetics:
Red cups are Vader OG. Blue cups are Nana Dawg.

Vader OG is a true breed project dating back to 2006 by Vader of Ocean Grown Genetics. It's described as very heavy on the OG Kush traits with a spicy pine and hashy taste. It's lineage includes SFV OG, Ghost OG, and later on it was crossed against a Hells cut.

Nana Dawg I don't know too much about, other than what's on the packaging ~ Stardawg #7 crossed against an F9 Banana Kush plant. Hey @Dankonomics_genetics can you drop in and provide some information on this strain? I don't remember if you said this a Colorado Banana Kush or ORGNKid Banana Kush. Learn us up man!

Thanks to all the RIU members dropping by to check this out, I'm looking forward to what the future brings!

It’s stardawg #7 my raw gas keeper x banana Kush f9 male via orgnkid via mark castle via jaws seed line. The nana dominates and tosses off sweet banana og like phenos. And some stardawg 7 raw ones. The raw ones are the better ones.

Awesome stuff man, it’s funny if you go read my journal. I’m running GDP right now too, didn’t get a purple pheno. Just switched to perpetual too. Started a pheno hunt as well and my main focus is the Ocean Grown Ninja Fruit. Going to be switching to Jacks 321 too w/ Fulvic, DIY Terpinator, DIY MOAB, Heisenberg tea, Silica Blast.
No cal mag needed for the coco?

Following along, new grower got into it through LED building, your setup looks great! already thinking of flood and drain perhaps, or maybe drippers. thanks for posting!

No bottled calmag, not if you're using Cal-Nit as part of your 3-2-1 recipe. I don't anticipate you having any issues finding purple phenos with the ninja fruit. What fulvic product are you going to use?
