Just a headsup on the hydroton. It doesnt hold for shit, so if your roots arent at flood line yet, you may need to handwater for a cpl days or so til they search and hit the flood line.

Looking good. Did you flower any of the Banana Glue?
Not yet. I have just the two right now. One is in the coco liner pot and the other is the small close from another pheno. Long story short is I lost the other 4 from neglect. I got a bit too busy with other stuff and wasn't on top of things. I had a power outage that reset my timer and I didn't catch it until late.

I managed to save one banana glue plant, and I cloned the rest. Of the rest only one showed the traits to survive. She's doing well now and will be flipped very soon.

Here is the current state of affairs in the Secret Jardin 120 tent. There's quite a few different strains I'm playing around with. Plants are not perfect but they're doing a lot better than last week.

Last round (GDP clones) grew so easy for me, everything just came together perfectly and the plants were happy. The buds turned out to be absolute fire... from the smell, taste, potency... it just checked all the boxes. But things haven't been that easy this time around..

I finally think i'm getting the tent dialed back into the ranges where everything is happy. I put the Canna A&B back on the shelf for the time being. I feel like I was trying to MacGyver things instead of using their entire line as intended. I was experiencing drastic PH fluctuation's day-to-day, and this was causing Mg lockouts, no matter how much I supplemented Mg, the plants just weren't taking it up.

Honestly I don't want to blame Canna because I think all of the issues I battled were do to my negligence. Until I can fully commit to running their product the correct way (A+B, rhizo, cannazyme, boost), it's probably better that I leave those bottles on the shelf until I'm ready to make that commitment.

I jumped on the Jacks 3-2-1 badwagon for the time being - and so far the results have been very good. The plants are a couple days into flower and I'll try to report back at least once per week with a progress report.

Took this photo on Saturday as the plants were waking up. Really happy to see how much they've improved since I switched up the nutrients to Jacks 321. Some of the discoloration on the leaves is obviously irreversible since it was caused by deficiencies, but I think overall it's a night and day difference from a few weeks ago.

Reservoir
20 Gallons of RO water

Jacks 5-12-26
2.4 grams per gallon = 48 grams

Calcium Nitrate
1.6 grams per gallon = 32 grams

Magnesium Sulfate (epsom salt)
.80 grams per gallon = 16 grams

Mammoth P
.6ml/gal = 12ML

Biocozyme
2.5ml/gal = 30 ML

Recharge
Small scoop, don' really measure it.

The aforementioned recipe gets my water charged up to right around 650-700PPM. I typically have to raise the PH from the mid 5's to 6.0 unless I'm using Silica. But once I get the PH to 6.0 it seems to stay locked in that range, which is very convenient.

If I make a mistake and mix everything too strong it's fairly easy to just dilute the EC down to where I want it.

Don't ask me why I decided to flower out the tiny wedding cake x gorilla glue plants, I should've just vegged them out in another tent but I've been redesigning the grow area and it wasn't convenient to set another tent back up for that.

Next round is going to be a lot of fun once I pop the rest of my purple portal seeds (15ct) and a pack of Stardawg x Banana Kush. I should have some OG strains by that time too, been eyeballing a pack of Vader OG & Dark Plasma.

Day 14 Flower Update

Lots of work in the garden this weekend and the plants are continuing to explode with growth. The agenda today is to complete a leaf strip and do lower branch defoliation. Since the plants will be pulled out of the tent it'll also be an opportune time to scrub down the flood table and remove the algae that has accumulated. I'll also pull the reservoir out and give it a rinse as well.

It was recently brought to my attention that growmore's biocozyme is not an actual plant enzyme. I'm pretty disappointed in finding that out because I feel it's a bit misleading when you read the label. Nonetheless I'll be picking up a bottle of Cannazym to add into the mix.

I'll post some pictures later today or tomorrow. I'll also try and do some before & after pictures for those wondering how much I take off when I do a leaf strip.

Happy growing folks.

With the light penetration I'm getting through the canopy from the quantum boards, I decided to keep the defoliation to a minimal amount. I tried to take off as much as possible without stressing the plants out. I raised the lights up as high as they'll go, and also added another clip-on fan inside the tent.

I've got about 15 or 16 Purple Portal seeds from Ocean Grown Genetics that I'm itchin to get wet. Purple Portal's lineage is Alien Rift x Ninja Fruit. I don't believe this strain has been bx'd, so these F1's could have some diversity and unique traits.

I'll need to get another tent setup before I can move forward with preparing for the next round. I'm debating between using my existing 3x3 tent that has been beaten up pretty bad over the years, or getting a 2x4 tent online for $80 - $100.

I need to make a trip over to the hardware store sometime this week to pickup some 12/3 romex, a breaker, and a few other things. I'd prefer to run another circuit to my grow area to ensure I wont be overloading the existing circuit.

The trellis net is in for branch support as the plants put on weight.

I've been having an issue with the rear quantum board / kit in my tent. Issues started last week. The QB starts up like normal when the timer kicks on, but a few seconds to a minute later it just shuts down. I have the unit connected to a kill-a-watt electricity monitor and it shows the unit loosing all power when this happens.

I've removed the kill-a-watt and directly connected the plugin, but same thing. The only solution that has worked is to unplug/plug in the QB multiple times until it says on.

It's on this unit that does it too. The other QB Kit has been running smooth with no issues

Needless to say I've already ordered a replacement driver, but until I replace said driver I'm not 100% sure what's causing the issue. @robincnn @Stephenj37826 - any idea why this would be happening after just over 1 year of use?

HLG reached out and offered to send a replacement driver, talk about top notch customer service.

In other news the garden is rolling along. Day 18/19 flower of flower. I've been pretty hands off over the past few days. PH has been good sitting at 5.9. The EC is at a comfortable 1.4. The blue OG is a little pissed off and a bit light in color. I have a feeling she's a heavy feeder that would prefer an EC of 1.6 or so, but for the sake of everything else in the tent I'll have to keep rolling as-is. Perhaps a bump to 1.5 wont hurt, so I may try that next res change.

Replacement driver is here and I'll be swapping it out soon. This is the one that HLG sent me. The one I bought on my own I'm think I'll just build a new LED light for my veg tent rather than sending back. I put together a shopping list using 3 CXB3590's on a prefabricated rail to mount the COB's and heatsinks on. I would just order up a couple quantum boards but the 3000K spectrums are out of stock at the moment, as well as the slate 2 heat sinks.

Edit: This would put out 223.7w @ 2100ma using a HLG-240H-C2100A driver.

The Vero29SE(d) would put out 232.5w @ 2100ma using the same driver.

The Vero's are 80 CRI while the CXB's are 90 CRI. The total cost using the Vero's would be about $25 less than the current cost with CXB's.

Check out my shopping list below, I'm curious to get feedback. I already have plenty of wire and wago connectors so that's why they're not on the list.

I swapped out the driver and the light fired up without any hiccups. I'll give it some time but it appears the driver was the culprit.

Dropping by to provide another update. Today marks day 40 of flower in which I'm doing 11 hours on and 13 hours off. I haven't been documenting this grow as much as the others simply because I've been way too busy. My work life has been going very well but it's limiting how frequently I can update. My home life has also been going well, my wife and I are expecting our first child later this year.

I ordered up a new 4x4 tent to replace the Secret Jardin 120. It's served me well over the years but it's time to replace it. I'm looking forward to breaking it in this next go round'.

Next run will begin in about 23 days... I plan on getting the beans wet near the end of July. I will definitely update this thread more often once that grow begins, it'll be right around the time I'll be catching my breath at work too, so that'll be nice.

Strains I'll be growing...

Vader OG - Ocean Grown (OG Kush Blend)
Purple Portal (Alien Rift O-Side x Ninja Fruit)

I've got a pack of GG#4's from Dankonomics as well, but I'd like to hold onto those for a rainy day. Right now I'm really excited to get some Ocean Grown gear going in the garden. I also really want to start working with regular seeds instead of feminized. I admire the way Vader and his team approach cannabis breeding and I'm eager to grow out their gear.

I picked up the Purple Portal a while back when I was on a purple kick. Nowadays I'm really aiming at getting some truly gassy, fuel-like, diesel smelling strains in the garden. Between both packs I'm hoping to get 8-12 viable females to clone, grow out, and possibly keep.

End of update. Hope everyone had a happy and safe 4th of July.

It's been a while since I've posted any photos on this thread, my apologies.

Here is Cake Glue on day 49 of flower. This strain was bred by Dankonomics Genetics. It's a cross between Black Forest Cake & GG#4. The Black Forest Cake was a collab between Dankonomics & JAWS Genetics.. A forum cut GSC BX2 F2 using Aliendawg as the outcross male.

This pheno is very dominant on the cookies side with hard golf ball nugs all the way down to the lowers.
