First tine grower of autoflowers here want to see how far behind mine are in size.

This is a Gelato auto at 18 days from sprout. The pic was taken a week ago right before I tried some LST on her. For whatever reason she immediately started throwing pistils and pre-flowering the day after the LST.
I know autos are on their own schedule and will flower regardless of size or light exposure….but pre flowering on day 20 seems awfully early. Perhaps the stress of bending the main stem caused it??
This is only my second run with autos and they can be tricky.
I have 2 Mephisto CDLC’s (pics below)
on day 45ish that I stunted badly during the first 2 weeks. When I finally made the necessary changes they were already 3 weeks old and only grew a minimal amount before they started flowering. Fortunately I think I dialed those 2 in and they’ve filled out and are little bushes with a level canopy of 9-10 tops each. Both are less than 7-8” tall but are stacking nicely. With any luck I may get enough yield to make it worth the time.

The second picture is that 3 weeks old? Thats what mine look like almost identical. And mine are only 6in tall right now. With 4th set of leaves coming in.

Also 20 days starting flower is very early i think they are supposed to start on week 5 or around there. Mine arent big enough yet to do any LST.
The solo pic is day 18…..and I was fairly happy with it at that point. I had LST’ed others in the past the benefits were noticeable.
After I LST’ed, I was hoping to get at least 2 good weeks of just veg growth before any pistils started popping but it didn’t happen that way.
My next ones, which are about a week old, I think I’ll wait on the LST until I see some pre flowering or day 30ish, whichever comes first.
Im still trying to figure out the best recipe for days 1-15. With autos it’s a race to get them as healthy and big as possible during those initial 3 weeks.
Heck, I have a couple of photos that in the same group pic…..they were looking rough and almost dead at one point. I kept them around and moved them from my first starter medium and they have fully recovered and look great. They’re going outside to my buddy’s farm in a week or two.
It’s a fun hobby and nothing takes the place of experience.
Good luck and let me know if you want my input. I’m a newbie to the inside grow but grew quite a bit outdoors many yrs ago. There is quite a difference and I’m finding that out as I go.

That’s in 3gal fabric pot with coco and perlite, about 40%.

Top dressing? No, I fertigate every time. EC of like 1.0 at that point.

Looks awesome. Maybe my next run will be better. Going a completely different route so i think it will be!
