show and tell about your automated drip/sprayer systems

My system is pressure based,, Ive seen people do gravity based systems that work pretty well after you work out the fine tunings of each site.

thanks for sharing heartlandhank. so are you getting equal water distribution to each site? what exact pump are you using. i'll post some pics up soon, once i get my girls transplanted. they are all still in half gallon nursery pots being hand watered. couple things. the fittings for the poly line that came with my stakes blow. if i had to do over again i would have gotten the plum colored pcnl stakes and the pressure compensating fittings exactly like mack used. i got the old school green stakes with normal fittings. the system still works fine but you really have to smash the spray stake lines down on those fittings or they will leak.

hello all... my first post!
although I am new to any forum I am not new to hydro/dtw

I run a very simple yet effective se up... its a bit costly to put together at first but it pays for it self in nutrient/cost savings

2 dosatron pumps $$
2 30 gallon trash cans
drip line with stakes

no pump except the one in the well
no air stones
no root disease

mix the 2 30gln trash cans with dry salt fert which will provide a total of 4000glns of nutrient

never adjust ph or fertilizers for entire grow
ph remains the same nutrient profile remains the same from sart of flower until harvest

after its et up...aside from raising the light, theres nothing left to do!

1.5 to 2lbs for a 4x4 tray harvest day has roots as white as my teeth

so you're filling the trash cans with concentrate and the dosatrons mix it with your tap? are you ph'ing the concentrate? are the dosatrons on separate water lines? which dry salt ferts have you been having success with? i have used jacks pro hydro/cal nit/epsom and also maxibloom in dwc. im giving the jacks another try in coco right now.

correct..... no not separate water lines.. both on the same line

im using

calcium nitrate
magnesium nitrate
potassium nitrate
monopottassium phosphate
potassium sulphate
magnesium sulfate
potassium chloride
iron dtpa

and all the chelated micros which I measure each individually

all the nitrates and the iron in tub A and the sulphates and micros in tub B

this link will give you a few pics... one of the pics you can barely see the dosatrons behind the plant

Im still watering by hand but planning on firing up the sprayers next week. Im not going to use the dump valve because im using 18 sprayers so the system loses pressure quickly after the pump is off20150618_122331.jpg

are you still feeding with jacks. I remember bs'n with you a little bit at the farm about making concentrates out of Jacks.
Hydrogardens.com Same product as Jacks, only better quality, lower prices and they were close enough for me to drive to pick up my order. Think they will ship as little as five pounds of nutes?

I use their 5-12-26 hydroponic mix with micros, along with Yara Liva brand calcium nitrate. Add some epsom salt and a dash of MKP and that's my whole nute lineup... for stupid cheap. Period. ESPECIALLY when compared to water bottled nutrients.

I make my own stock solution so when it comes time to do nutrient changeouts, I only draw out the amount I need on the spot.

You have any nice bud shots using your hydrogardens mix?

so are you feeding the same ec/ppm all the way through? If so what are you keeping it at? What nutrient profile are you creating with your salts?

I ran the system last night and it worked beautifully. I just used a 5 gallon bucket to draw from as it was my first run with all 18 spray stakes working. Miraculously there were no leaks. I have a sediment filter attached to an inline filter on my intake side. I took some pics with my phone that i will post up later today. I will also post some pics of how I inserted the fittings into the 3/4 inch poly line. In the coming days I will begin setting up another system using drippers instead of spray stakes and observe and contrast the differences. If anyone has pics of their systems and would like to share feel free to post em up.
