Ok... today is Friday ( thank god ) and the girls are looking pretty good.
But , there are 2 running a bit slow .... could be a slow starter or runt. I will give them a week to show some growth or they will be pulled and soil reused.

Soil mix was modified slightly with pumice stone instead of perlite , as I was have trouble finding 2 cu. ft bags.
Heard myco loves the nooks and crannies of pumice , so I decided to give it a go.

Seedlings were Foliar sprayed ( misted ) with Bushmaster Boomerang . I really like this stuff and is a product I use once in awhile.
I used to use Optic Foliar and it kind of does the same job. Pants really perk up after a spray. I noticed seedlings like it too.
Hence , why I put on runts . So if I can’t get a growth spurt , then they are too weak to keep.

Spider Farmer light is buzzing along just fine and raised dimmer up to 70%. Plants are pretty uniform ( except 2 ) .

Next set of seeds that will popped will be a run of KKP ( hazeman seeds ) Durban poison x GG4 .
So the Spider will get one of each strain for the review and the remaining plants run under other grow system.

The context of this review will be plant response and overall life under long grow conditions , as I tend to run perpetuals.
So , whether to see if the hardware can run long and strong with no mysterious hardware failures. I am not running this grow for yield , only whether this panel can take the use I throw at it.

I have read about the opinions on this led panel , so I will see for myself and give it a fair shot.

Update :

Going on a week later and those 2 weaklings will get culled and cup soil recycled. One Mr. C and One KKP.
Neither found their legs .

However , you can see the 4 remaining KKP are pretty neck in neck in growth. I also noticed short node spacing in growth.
Spider Farmer light has definitely got enough blue in spectral mix. So no over stretched seedlings. Power is at 80%.
Ambient heat is reflected at board level meter and is within a degree or 2 of room. Cooling is handled with minor oscillation and a large 8” extraction. Liking what I’m seeing so far with this little panel ........

Transplanting will happen this weekend ( sat. ) into my layered bag mix . I will break that down once I begin assembling them.

I definitely can see the benefit of daisy chaining a few of these together for multiple use or spread for good overlap of area.

Transplant time :

Began transplants on the KKP and Mr. Crowley into 1 gallon grow bags . I chose those sizes as I tend to do SOG styles from time to time and decided to go that route. AGAIN , this not a max yield kind of review , I am more interested in reliability, performance and value for the grower .

Mix :

FFOF BASE ( 1/3 ) with pumice ( crushed )
Layer of Great White Myco ( scoop )
Top layer EB STONE Recipe 420 soil with pumice.

This is my mix for uncomplicated grow upfront . Recipe 420 is highly aerated and mild nute infused.
Myco at mid layer will help “ solo cup “ plug and bump to FFOF ( bump microbial activity) .
Ph will be 6.5 - 6.7

They will be top dressed with either Dry Fertilizer or More soil watered in......... Simple.
Ammending as needed throughout grow.

KKP ( Durban Poison x GG4 )

Spider Farmer light is at full power and heat is nominal.
And all is good so far.

Update week :

Well it’s been a week since transplant and I decided to run these 4 KKP plants for the review. The Mr. Crowley plants have been moved to another grow. These 4 plants have been doing very well under the Spider Farmer V2 1000 . No complaints.

All of them are happy and thriving under the panel . Cycle is still 18/6 and they are getting to 5 nodes. I plan either a topping pretty soon or LST training. Plants are on layered mix and 6.5 ph water only still.......

@Spiderfarmerled is actually doing a good job so far , power at full , height about 18”. The panel is best suited for a 2x2 but I am running in a 42” x 24” x 60” tent ( green architecture) and am very pleased with grow so far. I am curious how well I can produce
overall grow with such a small panel. I would think a line of 3 panels would really fill that tent proper. Daisy chained of course.

I really like how bright this single panel is in a large tent , but it seems to be powering thru just fine !

UPDATE:

These plants are loving this panel ( @Spiderfarmerled ) . For it’s size , I’m impressed with the grow so far.
Panel’s light footprint is covering plants uniformly with no weak areas. Plants are growing pretty much the same at all 4 corners.

I am beginning to LST and “ prune “ for structure ( 2 plants topped ) . I like symmetry for some reason.
Added a scoop of FFOF to recharge each bag. Watered in and go have a beer.

So far it’s doing well and really diggin this little panel !

Saturday- Pruning and LST
About 3 weeks since transplant.
2 KKP were topped / 2 just LST shaped.

Still gonna let the branching happen for a couple more weeks , decided to get better light penetration by pruning a few fans.
Plants didn’t miss a step and are now building structure . Light cycle is still 18/6 . Temps have cooled around these parts , so making sure I don’t overwater ( longer wet time in soil ) so plants don’t slow in growth.

If it stays cool , I might bring in some ambient heat to make them nice and cozy. I watered yesterday with some kelp in the water .
Leaves are still slightly heavy because of water , but I usually watch leaf to rise once moisture plateaus. Using a single oscillating fan for air exchange .

Next top dress - will have EWC added , maybe on Monday . No signs of exhaustion of medium . Slight purple on stems but base that on temps lately.

Looking good. I am interested to see what this light will do with flowering in the end. Is it a 200 watt draw?

the two issues i have with the sf 1000 is the dimmer box makes the light unbalanced when hanging it also if i dont have mine connected to a trimmer half the led diodes stay on when turning it off by the attached switch

i like the new rubber coating they used though vs the stuff they used before hand as the new stuff dont not attract hair and dust or at least its not tacky like the old rubber coating

I was on the fence about “ protective coating spray “ initially since I really don’t go crazy with Foliar or damp conditions.
But , it seems like a good call this time. Better quality control than previous .

As far as lopsided weight , it can be easily addressed with 4 corner ratchet ropes instead of supplied wire hangers.
This review is mostly for those interested in panel reliability, consistent performance. I look at plant response over par charts.

Wondering , how much power could reasonably done on this single board if it was properly heatsinked .... hmmmmm .

If in the end I can get a decent amount of bud , from 4 (1 gallon bags under a single 100 watt light ) , then light will speak for itself.

Your grow techniques , medium and other factors will dictate final results , but am confident this panel is a worthy of a look.
I plan to offer some insight and maybe suggestions to ( @Spiderfarmerled ) about this panel ... I.E. few more IR or maybe a switchable uv option. I truly believe for the beginner grower and those looking for good alternatives, may consider this brand.

I am hoping they will offer me a chance to try their SF4000 for a 3x3 I plan to run. I would really see what kind of performance that would do ...... @Spiderfarmerled

This little Panel is definitely opening my eyes .

Right now they are offering a coupon code : SFRIU

Actually , 100watts . Which by way grow is going , it looks to be a good “ plant “ efficient light.
$159 cost is looking more and more like a deal. Plus you can add more panels by way of jump wire ( daisy chain).
Super easy .

Flowering stage will be interesting, as they included Red led strings on board.
Flip will be few weeks from now or when they show sex maturity.
( No males ... knock on wood ) .... LOL.
