@Spiderfarmerled has reached to me to do a review of one of their models : SF 1000. I would like to thank them for offering me a chance to give this panel a run for a grow review. They reached to me to run a grow journal using this panel and I will update this thread weekly as the test grow goes on.

Details : SF 1000 with dimmer control and dual RJ45 ports for daisy chain capabilities.

Dual RJ45 ports allow multiple daisy chain with other SF panels ( 1000/2000/4000 units )
Meanwell ELG 100 - 48 driver
Dimmer control
On/off switch

Panel weighs in just under 3 pounds and is Ready to hang.
12.8” x 11.4” size
PCB with Samsung LM301B ( 3000k and 5000k ) white / warm white mixed spectrum .
It also has 660nm / 760nm IR leds. Entire board is spray coated with an encapsulate protection.
Power draw is 100 watts. Design is similar to ” quantum “ style board on aluminum backing plate. Included with panel are ratchet rope hangers and
RJ45 cable.

First Impression / unboxing :

Spider Farmer did a fine job of careful packing with strong foam inserts for shipping. Basic information pamphlet included.
Rated for 3x3 Veg / 2x2 Flower. I will run this in a 2x2 space from start to finish to fully see how well a couple of plants fair under it. So my plan is either to run a good 3 gallon ( LST / manifold ) plant or at least 2 grow bag gallon plants. More on that later as I figure out the strains to throw at it.
Overall build quality is actually quite nice ( see pics ) . Driver and Dimmer hub are on risers .

First power up ( at lowest dimmer setting ) is very bright ..... and full setting is blinding !
Pics don’t show how bright this thing really is.

Since I run ” boards ” in my own grows , I am curious on the performance and longevity of this particular panel. I plan to run reg strains to throw an extended veg cycle ( so see how well this panel runs on a long cycle ). I may run some seedling starters just to see it work under milder use.
But am very curious on the full power for flower stage. My review is only to judge the plants under it and general use. As far as PAR tests and such , MIGRO has done a vid on earlier model . This will be only a user review.

So stay tuned .... I am working on a space for it this weekend and plan to get going soon. Feel free to follow along.

Again , thank you @Spiderfarmerled for the chance to test your product. Fast shipping ( got this in 4 days ) and 30 day product exchange .

Vegging with this currently, and it's working pretty well so far. The light is very bright, but I'm not sure what it's actually rated PAR wise.

Seems like it's well built, but I hope the parts are what they say they are. A certain area of the world may or may not make a habit of doing this from time to time. I'll upgrade to/build a different light later, but this definitely works for now.

Well , this will be one strain i will pop .
Durban Poison x Green Crack cross i just cut down for seeds. No name i made ( Green Double Poison ? ) but I’m nicknaming it “ Mr. Crowley “ :bigjoint:

I like playing dr. Frankenstein with my girls from time to time. F1 or S1 ( i do both ) so i can pheno hunt. I keep the amount of pollenating to one branch ( I don’t need hundreds) .

Due the fact i was spinning some ozzy vinyl and that happened to be rockin. The other strain more than likely will be running on this grow : Hazeman Seeds - KING KONG POISON ( durban poison x gg4 ) .... a room spinning gem !

Ran a bit late on updates on this review , but am back on track now. “ Mr. Crowley “ seeds are sprouted and in their starter solos.

Durban Poison x Green Crack are in a mix of EB Stone Recipe 420 mix / perlite / Great White myco blend.
I am running this as my regular water only grow medium with occasional top dress as grow moves forward. I am also looking for a pheno keeper if lucky.

Spider Farmer 1000 V2 is up and running at about 20% dimmed power for this early seedling run. It runs very cool at about 82 degrees which is matching the ambient grow area. It has been rather dry ( Rh ) so I added some zips to contain moisture in the solos. The light
so far is under 18/6 and at a hang height within recommendations ( 26” ) .

Next set of seeds that will popped will be a run of KKP ( hazeman seeds ) Durban poison x GG4 .
So the Spider will get one of each strain for the review and the remaining plants run under other grow system.

The context of this review will be plant response and overall life under long grow conditions , as I tend to run perpetuals.
So , whether to see if the hardware can run long and strong with no mysterious hardware failures. I am not running this grow for yield , only whether this panel can take the use I throw at it.

I have read about the opinions on this led panel , so I will see for myself and give it a fair shot.

How are you planning to evaluate performance? Grams/Watt of bud and trim? Wet and/or dry?

Any way to make a 1:1 comparison with something else? Maybe your grow light from your last grow?

No ... there are plenty of vids and tests done on hardware / par / etc.

Spider Farmer reached out to me to test this as i would using my QBs. It is not a side by side. This is to see how well it performs under my typical grow use. I believe they are aware of my penchant for HLG and asked me to run this panel. I run perpetually and will do a trial by fire type of usage .

They are running a mixed SMD led ( 3000 / 5000 ) with IR and deep red. Interesting as it all on one board. Listed true Samsung diode and meanwell driver. For about $159 looks like a good panel so far.

The strains being run are regulars and will be run only with this panel - no supplement lights or uv.

This updated V2 version seems a jump over first SF1000 in both fit and finish.

I am interested in plant growth and panel durability .
Although my test space is larger than recommended 2x2 size ... these beginning seedlings will highlight the early growth potential of panel using their dimmer function THEN when i settle on either a single potted plant or dual grow bag of strains under higher power for later stages.

The remaining plants will go in to other grow spaces. I decided to throw germed seeds under it now to follow typical growers starting with seeds.

Thought they were Samsung lm301b’s.. but I’m riding with you. About to start my own first run with an sf1000 in a 2x2. Good luck! Hopefully it lives up to expectations (at least the ones I have lol )

I like it so far. It's bright as hell. I'm growing clones of some bag seed, so I may have stressed them out cuz I seen some nanners. Going to toss some ILGM genetics and AMS auto's under it next round. (In a week or 2)

Man I was running an SF2000 for veg in my 3x3 area and it was overkill, had it dimmed to 20% lol. Going to toss that into my 5x5 and put a SF1000 in my 3x3 for veg. These things are super bright. I'll have 4x SF2000 covering a 5x5 area, right now there are 3 and it's still doing very well. I've been very happy with my spider farmers so far. Looking forward to seeing a transparent review and journal that will show how they shine! Sure they're a little more expensive than alibaba lights but these have a 3 year warranty, which is nice.

They are LM301B's, no? I thought he was referring to the color temp.

What was a pleasant surprise was the fast shipping ... I am on west coast and was shipped out of Alhambra, not really that far from me.
So , any issues can probably go with out a hitch and they have been checking in with me. So props for that.
