Self-Proclaimed Assholes you have met on the Internet

Has anyone ever wondered how many self-proclaimed assholes have popped up in the past two decades because of the internet connecting every little thing with our lives?

It is amazing how suddenly forums, social networks, and chatrooms today are filled with angry people who need professional help use the internet to treat everyone like a pile of shit. What happened to smoking some weed or having a few beers and chilling the fuck out?

Even this place has it's losers, idiots, and disrespectful assholes writing posts either because they think their material is cute and funny or simply because they have no self-respect and find it hard to share respectfully with others.

The other crazy thing are the people that truly believe the world will be destroyed very soon because of all of the "mad" people in the world today. I believe there has been other decades in our past that if you gave them the internet and iphones with social network sites during World War II...yeah, people back then would have said the same thing!

I met a guy in Paltalk that I only remember as a nickname of Voo...now I don't know his full call sign because it has been years, but he runs a political chat group and is literally on the chat 18hrs a day...yet he claims to be a practicing lawyer who sounds like an evil Bill Cosby! lol

He is entertaining, but offensive and his ego just echoes through that room to the point in which will make you disgusted.

If your a Paltalker you can find the room titled 'Mainstream Politics'

I would venture to guess that some of the idiots who make trolling comments in the political sections have hung out in this chatroom based on how they treat others.

Anyone have a vent about a self-proclaimed asshole you have met recently on the internet?

Welcome to the world wide, (be who you want to be, but would never dare so in public) web. I agree 100% that given the technology we have today, 100 years ago, we would have had trolls even then. The key thing to remember, is don't let it get to you. Pathetic cries for attention is all it is.

I've met quite a few people around the interwebz that I wouldn't piss on even if they were on fire. But unlike them I have a real life that outweighs this one by a megaton. Its actually quite easy to not sink to their level and avoid a pointless electronic fight. Life's grand and way to short to worry about what a 17 year old thinks of you. Tell me how it feels to be the smartest person on the internet and I'll tell you what real world accomplishments and a vagina feels like.

The trolls 100 years ago would have been shot. The internet can give any nerd a backbone.

Shaggy Green, to answer your basic question ... No.
I am surprised at how personal a trollish comment on a web forum feels.
That being so, I make a point of not (or very rarely) posting negativity.
I've also developed a habit that when a post directed at me gets under my skin, I step back for an hour or more, and I let the soothing anodyne (did i say that with a straight face??) of Real Life wash over me. That way, if I do respond, it's from the high ground of an unruffled disposition.

i see a lot of internet gunslinger wannabes ... and most don't rate attention on style alone imo.

I see a lot of data with no facts

Name some ppl on here!
My intent was not slander anyone. It was a general statement based on my experience on the internet with people I have never even met before. I remember a few years ago two of my friends got into it on a Facebook comment and stop being friends in real life over it. Just sounds crazy...it has almost an eerie underground society of people who just live through the internet.

I gain nothing by mentioning their names here.

shaggy are you old enough to remember the first few versions of AOL? i mean in the early 90's when the internet was still new to most of us.

holy fuck was it awful. the anonymity was new and the place was infested with douchebags whom AOL had no control over. does anyone remember those fucking punters? bastards.

new technology draws out all kinds of sickening human qualities. nowadays it's about how instant everything is. if you get in a flame war with someone, within 5 seconds you can have an entire fucking spreadsheet of insulting pictures and statistics, call them on misinformation, find their mother's mugshot, and then photoshop a dick on it.

no more idiots, just more toys.
