Seedling Problem

Dont worry mate it happens, some days they drink more water than nutes, not too worry.
just add how ever many liters of water back into the res and adjust ph and take you ppm reading job done, the ppm reading will have gone down with you adding water. :)

Its a picture of my leaves with the rust looking thing you were on about and i never used anything, good flush and just plain ph'd water until i seen improvement :)

I got mad and dumped my water out lol

Im mixing up another gal now , since they did not take in any nutes i guess i dont have to worry about over feeding lol

Time to do it again lol
 
I just re filled my res

ppm is 550 and ph is 5.7

I dont have time right now to try and tweak the ppm down closer to 400 cuz mt kids will be home from school in a few mins and i dont want them to walk in on me messing with that lol

But hopefully when i check it tomorrow the ppm will be down and not up

Oh ,

I think i might have some type of salt build up but idk

but underneath my lid and around the hole where my net pot sits their is a white residue

what is that my man
 
Two boards, same problem, same grower.... same wrong advice being offered.

It's obvious that the community has been pretty jacked up by the spread of misinformation on what exactly the Lucas Formula does for a grower.

whats up hydro

yea i post here and over their when problems occur that has my mind boggled

hoping to come across answers that are consistent with one another ya know but i get different opinions from different people and it makes it more confusing for me

Its obvious that im a complete noob when it comes to this hydro growing lol

It is frustrating though cuz im a pretty decent grower in soil and now that im trying out hydro i just feel at a loss

I read what i can but i will read something one day and ill be like ( oh ok ) then the next day i read something else on the same subject and the info is completely different

So yes i have been pretty confused and just dont really know which way to go cuz i get told different things ya know

Until there is a "definitive" guide on the subject I can only suggest you do what I did.... go find the original Lucas threads yourself... get it straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak. DON'T read the stickies on forums.... they're all copying the original OG GrowFAQ which is wrong. *sigh* 10 years now....

Hydro and the Lucas Formula are drop dead simple.... as soon as you're working with the right information. :D

Search for "Ask Lucas" and you'll find the thread where he pretty much breaks down the formula and using it.

And remember.... Your res pH needs to be set low... 5.4 or 5.2 if you have an auto top off valve. Let it rise till 5.8 (Lucas says 6.3 but I don't like that high) and then drop it back down. If you're doing the simple res changeout you'll probably never have to use pH down.

Lucas formula comes out at 4 something when you use R/O water.

Hi Goatin, your doing great, keep your chin up.ride the storm out.. the white stuff is normal residue from what i have read on the waterfarm journals.
it sounds like your making great progress. you have learned so much and your making the right moves .. and with wiimb helping things will work out. take it easy
 
Ok im about to make some changes

I got a bigger res im gonna use ( 3 1/2 gal ) it was only just a little over 1/2 gal

I got 2 new air stones that are a lot bigger then what i was using ( almost 10 x bigger lol )

And i got some new nutes , since im having problems anyway im just gonna change it up and hope for the best

Although im having this problem with the rust coloring they have grown about 2" in 2 days

Im still waiting on my calmag to get here

The nutes are from Botanicare the CNS17 , has any of you ever used them before ?

here are a few pics of the nutes im gonna use and the bucket im gonna use for my new res

Looks like a really good plan Goten! Its great news to hear that they are growing...thats a lot of growth so it sounds like your plant is doing well.
I really liked the video you made for james gordon when you do that huge bong hit. that was hysterical!
can you do another one? your accent really intregues me .. it sounds like a southern texas scottish gangster like accent. its very very exotic.

LOL , so my accent is made up of a dialog from different parts of the country and Scotland

Yea they seem to be growing fine as if nothing is wrong with them but obviously something is wrong ya know , just trying to figure shit out and rectify it

I noticed today that the very tip of a couple leaves are getting that brown rust color ( on new growth ) its really aggravating me that i cant get it to stop

I wish that damn calmag would hurry up and get here lol

Right now their still in that little res , but im gonna work on my other cab some today so i can put them in that bucket cuz its a tight fit in the little cab their in now

I tried to get a pic of the tip where its starting to brown on me but my camera is just not the best ya know

Well hopefully you all can make it out

Why not go all the way with a 5gal? I have a 5gal for just my one Red Cherry Berry and she's about to fill that thing with root material!

Because i dont have the room

I grow outdoors but when i do grow indoors i grow micro

This is the cab it will be in when i flower them ,

These blue mystics i have in their now are close to being done when they are ill put the bucket in their

Makes sense...if you haven't got room, you haven't got room...on the other hand, if you're keeping your plant small, she probably won't drink as much as the guys with bigger plants are reporting. Another tip...heat and humidity have a LOT to do with water consumption. If her temps are good and the humidity is right, she won't gulp water... You'll know by the time you're ready to leave how much she'll be drinking. You don't have anybody who could maybe check on her once in the middle of 7 days and maybe top her off if necessary?

And the blue mystics look yummy!

Got another question for you though lol

The roots are long enough that they reach all the way down to the bottom of the bucket

So do i still have to fill the bucket all the way up or could i just fill it up like half way ?
