"seems a little bit of a process though", you are all too right here my friend! For a while, the process of mixing up the soil, testing ph, adding lime, retesting ph,etc... was kinda fun, but now after dozens of cycles I am tiring of the process. I really want to give Subcool's super soil a try....just trying to get all the ingredients together. Take care!

east coast foxfarm sucks definitely has fungus gnat eggs started with a clean sealed room twice and got gnats both times. the first time i thought i brought them in but i was super careful the second time around

I haven't used Fox Farms. I have studied both and after that I go for organic Farm. I have not enough water. So, I found that organic farm holds water more then Fox farm. I have just tried it. I haven't got the result. When I get, will come back soon.

ive used both soils and personally like the roots organic, both soils work great but ive had problems with seedlings in ffof other then that ive never had issues, i like using both soils, starting seedlings in roots organic and transplanting into ffof. they really explode with growth when i transplant to ffof..

Phyzix: I always enjoy your pictures. I have not researched your threads about how you grow...other then its organic. Do you ammend your soil before useing it? How do you get such awesome colors in your leaves? Wish I could grow outdoors. That shit would dissapear quick in my backyard.

I'm really digging the Roots Organic so far, my current blend is 50/50 OF/RO and I add my perlite and amendments from there. I like the structure and water holding capacity that the Roots adds to the mix.

I'm gonna have to put my FFOF in the bottom of my 10gal smart pot I think cause I know there is fungus knats in it. But I also have organic sunshine mix to put on top you guys think that be a good idea?

Be cautious using Roots soil or coco. People, including myself, have reported getting Root Aphids from them. I've used their soil before with good results, so I went back to them from hydroponics, and I get RA.
