Hi everyone just wondering is it crucial to cook your soil recipes

I'm just starting to learn about building my own soils, soni don't wanna give bad advise, but, I think after you mix it all up you just let it sit for a month or two and toss it up every now and then so all the amendments have time to break down and not be so "hot"
