The 10K it will cost to replace the rest of the DE’s will pay for itself in less than about a year in power savings.

Great response! It blends into my point that you folks with lots of HID experience are the best growers (imo), because you have more experience than any indoor LED grower alone has. As you all transition to LEDs, your real experiences will inform us as to the true quality differences.

We can measure umols and penetration but we can't easily measure an optimized space between the 2 techs because you and all the other pros need enough time to say you are masters of LED too.

Experience is not replaceable in growing things, imo.

Where are these dozens of side by sides? 5 pages of people making excuses and doing everything they can to no show any side by sides...and none of them ever initially talked to. Here is the guy you all are trying to rescue, yet can't even answer for him.

-One person asked where they are
-7 people, not even involved in the initial comment and question...argue for days on why someone would want to see such a claim. Even going to the point of looking at an LED grow, and calling them an hps user cause they are so insecure.

What a joke you guys are. And its hilarious you somehow think you are righteous in not showing the side by sides. Even though....you were never asked in the dfirst place but feel you needed to talk. Noy get enough attention at home or something...so you come to the internet to spout lies and act tough? Bunch of pussies that can't grow, read, or comprehend basic sentences.

Where are the side by sides.

HDR look you are a great grower but dying on this hill isnt something we all are interested in.

You need 2 optimized spaces for your comparison. You are suggesting that all the variables can be controlled except the fixture and you know that doesnt work. What temps should be run? What distance should be used? What standards for comparison WOULD work?

I dont think I ever got into the argument here about side by sides. You may be right that there arent a lot of side by sides...but it goes back to the point that if you calm down a minute...there is no side by side.

It requires EXPERTISE to set the entire environment...as you know. To do a true side by side then, someone with equal knowledge and experience with both has to make a perfectly calibrated effort 50-50 between the spaces.

So in the end, all I can really rely upon is people, just like always. I must find ones I trust and believe are pros and LISTEN to what they say. They grow both. As they gain LED expertise, it will inform them, and then us, what the true differences are.

You can line up a dragster and an Indy car and ask, which one drives best, and never get a real answer because not everything is directly comparable side by side. For example, in this comparison of cars, will there be turns in the track? See how difficult it really is to compare?

Which is BETTER may be difficult to ever prove, but the attributes of each can be discovered and the best applications for each will be proven out. Just like finishing with mh seems to be a universally liked finish.

We arent enemies here, we are trying to discover more about this stuff we all love. Peace.
