They’re supposed to get hot. Rated passive up to 200w/96. If too hot, put a fan on them to help move that hot air to exhaust fan.

I have 2 going in a 3x3 at 150w right now, had to turn off all fans, and turn on a radiator heater, to get above 68F.

Do you have driver(s) in tent now? if so, consider moving them out.

Temps are ok but mounting the drivers outside the tent is a must imo. Once I get my last heatsink I'll compare temps running 2 vs 4 boards.

So far the plants seem very happy with them. Originally I was going to build a frame but now I think I'm going to keep them individual. Its nice to be able to freely move them and add/remove lights as needed.

A nice benefit is the small form factor, a little bigger than a big mac....flexibility...

I like to have all lights even and keep tops all the same distance from them, by raising shorter plants with pedestals.

You can do it lots of ways with these lights...

Traveled during christmas, while growspace was upgraded with electrical and hvac work.

Had my clones and mothers in another location in same building.

Before:

Electrician left a few circuits off...no pumpage...

After:

Fortunately the mothers survived...will be transplanting new clones and starting veg tomorrow, after 10 days in cloner...2 of each strain will be trained for 288 vs 96 flowering smackdown.

Rooting under a single 96 @ ~ 13w:

new thermal pads came in less than a week for the recall. these new blue ones seem higher quality off the bat and have the holes pre-drilled. they look really similar to the ones my roommate got me from bergquist. my white ones haven't bled any silicone but i will replace them ASAP to prevent future failure. they also sent me some stickers and a nice HLG pen, perhaps by mistake but hey thanks for the pen HLG!

@pulpoinspace yeah I've had a bit of bad luck with wrong heatsinks and then the leaking pads so very nice to get a freebie

That’s pretty sweet...far red to go with your red and deep red diodes...after stretch, turn thoses babies on for full lightson, to get emerson effect, and first 5-15 mins of lightsout for initiator effect...

I’d go with one of those per 96, if you hung them high enuff for coverage, maybe 1 for every pair of 96s.

Day 11: lookin healthy under two 96s. Topping tomorrow, transplant later this week.

Receiving ~400ppfd, 18:6; plus 16 mins/day of ~ 100uw/sq cm uvb, increasing 2 mins every other day, from 4’ t-5 agromax 25% uva 75% uvb.

This mutant trainwreck clone is still doing the trifoliate thing, earned itself a single plant grow:
