Hi ive picked up some purple express (auto) by freedom seeds from a local shop. they wher cheep i thought. has anyone got experience with this strain if so can you give me a idear of conditions it needs, what size pot would be best also a finishing time. ive had a look around the web and there site says 60 days flowering time. is that once it starts flowering or from when it brakes ground? i have grown before but when i was younger i had more space at my mums house. but now im living with my partner and have convinced her to let me grow one plant she has been against it for a long time even though she likes a smoke haha dont ask me i dont get it eather hahaha. so im going to be using household cfl bulbs i know they arent adequate but for now they will have to do untill i can pick up a hps or led's havent decided witch yet though but im vearing towards the led because of space issues i know the hps will be to hot. sorry for going on haha any advice is welcome.

I've never grown your strain, but there are some general guidelines that tends to suit almost all autos. The favored pot size by a lot of auto growers is either 2.5 gallons or 3 gallon buckets. Obviously, you can get bigger plants with a 5 gallon, it's really not neccessary. For any/all autos, the breeder's timeline is pretty well useless. If they say 60 days, you can pretty well guarantee it's going to run longer than 60 days unless you harvest the plant early. As for lighting, it sounds like you know what you want, I would just caution against the cheap-o blurple LED's, although they most certianly can grow a fine plant, most have poor durability and create a noticable amount of heat. If you're not on a really tight budget, give CMH lighting a gander...very reliable, amazing spectrum, and incredibly long lasting bulbs. They're cheaper than high quality COB LEDs/Quantum boards, but more expensive than MH/HPS lights. Their heat output is also very low, and some even come with an air cooling attatchment allowing you to attatch it to an inline fan and blow what heat it does produce outside of your tent.

^^^^^ agreed with info. But if you are “ getting your feet wet “ with growing and or cash strapped , a blurple lamp can do one plant easily.

However autos are pretty easy. Give them plenty of light , use no less than 18 on / 6 off for schedule. Use decent soil . Most good soils have enough nutes in them to carry a plant for weeks.

Autos flower on their own , round about 30 - 35 days after sprout. It goes thru a transition for about a week or so THEN begins actual flower.

Tells more about your grow space and plans.
Good luck.
